Odorless Mineral Spirits- I wanna' see it!
Many of you have emailed me for a tutorial on Odorless Mineral Spirits. If you're like me, it's easier to see something than to read it. In fact, if I have to read the directions, I usually try to figure it out "cold" first and only grab the directions if I did something wrong.
So, I uploaded the video clip from my Gina K. Designs Stamping Techniques DVD. Now, remember, the actual DVD is crystal clear, but when you shrink video down for the internet, it loses a lot of clarity and this clip is long, so it had to be made a lot smaller than the woodgraining one. However, you will definitely get the idea and you'll be able to do this technique with no problem once you watch this clip.
This is the finished card that I made using this technique:
You may remember it from back around October. The pumpkin stamp is from Gina K. Designs and the greeting is from TAC.
Once you have had a chance to watch the video clip, go to www.stampingfreak.com and watch the free video clip on woodgraining. Woodgraining is a beautiful background technique that is super easy to do if you know how.
If the video isn't clear enough, make sure you have the little screen set to "original." There is a down arrow button you can click on to make sure you have it set right. Change it to original if it's not set there. A bigger screen makes it too fuzzy.

Then, you will have had a little taste of the Gina K. Designs DVDs. My three DVD set has over 40 techniques and is on sale from now until January 6, 2007 at 25% off! That's a $10.00 savings! No coupon code is necessary and we ship worldwide. Our new paypal payment choice will be available around Wedneday for our Canadian and overseas customers. Plus, you get a free gift with your order, so now's the time to try them. You won't be disappointed and it's a great way to use the stuff you already have! I saw that resolution over and over again in your comments right here.
Now, for quick tip- How about some glittering brads? Here's a quick and easy way to add glitter to your brads: (This one doesn't need a visual, maybe. LOL)
Hold the brad with a pair of pliers or tweezers and heat the top of the brad with your embossing tool. Then quickly dip it into a mixture of embossing powder and ultra fine glitter. The heat from the metal will immediately melt the powder. If you want, you can hit it again with a little heat and then allow it to cool completely before touching it. This is a great way to change the color of your brads too, because you can use colored embossing powder, or to just keep the gold or silver look, add gold or silver glitter to clear embossing powder. If you try it and post your card to your blog or any other forum, comment here with the link so we can all see what you did!
Well, coming up this week is another fantasic giveaway you won't want to miss! Plus some fun samples, some faux postage and maybe a sneek peak of a few of the new Gina K. Designs Valentines Day and Easter stamps. Just a peek. LOL!
Have a wonderful start to your week and remember, this week, you're one day closer to Friday!

WOW....that was really neat to watch. I have read the directions on how that is done before, but actually seeing someone doing it while talking through it makes a big difference. Thanks for sharing that.

Being a visual learner, this tuitorial really helped. Now I can't wait to try it. I bought some gamsol a few months ago but was afraid to try it, now I feel like i "HAVE" to use it. Thanks Gina!

What a great tutorial! I've done this in the past but never saw anyone doing it. Your work is MUCH better than mine! Perhaps my stump is too large?? And I LOVE the little container you use to hold your mineral spirits in. I NEED one of those! LOL!
Thank you for your generosity in your give-aways and sharing your talent with us.

I carry a notebook in the car when I go shopping for supplies. In it I have a sample of each punch that I have so that I don't buy a duplicate. I also have a list of the paper packs that I have. Hard to remember when I am in the store and they are having a special on the large 12 x 12 packs. The notebook has a page for the paper edgers that I have. I have bought duplicates before, but not now. I have the chart from Stampin'UP for all of my paper and ink products so I know what I need at a glance. The difficult thing is trying to keep track of all my stamps. I did try scanning them, but eventually got tired of trying that. I have my personal idea book marked with round red dots showing what I currently have. By looking at my old idea books I can see what retired stamps set I have also.
