St. Patrick's Day is a fun holiday, but as far as stamping goes, I want a stamp that I can use for other things too. So, I got to thinking about it and I drew this little pot of clovers. Potted plants are good for all kinds of cards and clovers do represent luck. So, I thought that this stamp could be used for St. Patrick's Day with the right greeting but it could also be used for congratulations cards, best of luck cards, sending you luck in your new job, home, etc...
With St. Patty's day looming, I thought I would use the traditional Happy St. Patrick's Day greeting, however, when you look at this card, imagine the greeting saying, "Best of luck in your new endeavor" and it works just as well! Versatility rocks in the stamping world!

For this card I used the technique called masking. I am going to do a "masking made easy" tutorial tonight or tomorrow so keep your eyes peeled for that. The colors I used are from Stampin Up's collection- Chocolate Chip and Old Olive. I had a lot of that laying around after the last card I made. I also used patterned paper from DCWV. It was from an 8X8 pack that was a vacation edition. It has lots of colors that remind me of my cruise to the Mexican Riviera. Ahhhh........, oh, yeah, back to the card. I still have some of the cute polka dot organdy ribbon, so I used some of that. I bought that at my LSS. Since we have such a scalloped punch shortage in the world right now, I thought I would use my scalloped scissors instead of a punch to add a little wave. I added a couple of brads to the wheels to give them some interest. The stamps are both by Gina K Designs.
Now for the coloring- I colored the card with prismacolor pencils and get this- I have been experimenting with different odorless mineral spirits from different manufacturers and I found one that I love!!! And the best part? We are going to carry it under the Gina K. Designs name! Yipee!!! Artisit grade OMS. I never believed that there was much of a difference...*insert blushing cheeks as I have seen the light. It is actually very true that there is a difference. Keri Serieka uses artist grade odorless mineral spirits all the time. (I even say in my videos that plain old hardware store OMS works just fine, and it does, but WOW! This stuff is really nice.) So, if you want a higher quality OMS, we will be carrying it. And, of course, we will have a great special coming up so you can get some free! (What's better than free?)
I hope those of you in the deep freeze zone are staying warm, my friends down in Florida are staying dry and safe and the rest of you are weathering these winter months well. I'll be posting that tutorial soon! Have a great day!
Warm hugs,
Gina K.
