Watercoloring a new way...

Thank you so much for all of your replies. From your comments and emails, here's what I found out. Sarah Moore told me that godaddy.com, (who I have my domain names registered with and my blog and all websites through,) had some blips today due to the early daylight savings time. So, some of you got the emails with no problem and were able to access my site and others got the "unavailable" message. I knew something was weird so thank you so much for all of your info and comments. You guys are such good friends.

Finally, I had a chance to create this tutorial for you.

This is one of my new favorite products. It's called "Peerless Transparent Water Colors."

My friend, Chris, recently bought this company that has been in business since 1885!

A couple reasons why I love these so much is, of course, you can use them to create beautiful VIBRANT watercolored projects but you can also use them for photo retouching which is super cool for scrapbookers. I have started to print some things in black and white and then add a little color back in with different mediums. These work great for that! And, I really love the price! $12.00! I paid way more than that for other watercolor products and the complete set has all the colors you need to blend up any combination. They do make a mega set that is $38.00 as an add on but so far, I haven't needed anything more than these to get the colors I want. So, for twelve bucks, it's sure worth taking a shot.

Here is a card I made using the Peerless System:

One of the greatest things about these is the way the come packaged. They are in a little booklet that can slip in your purse. I own the watercolor wonder crayons and I LOVE THEM! But they are very cumbersome to take with me. With these, I can stamp a bunch of images on watercolor paper and bring them with me to the doctor's office, a swim meet, McDonald's. (Not that I ever eat there! LOL! Can you see the special sauce on my chin??)
All I need is my little stamped images, my Peerless booklet and my water brush, maybe a paper towel and I'm good to go!

I stamped these overalls, available at stampingfreak.com, on a piece of watercolor paper using Stazon Ink. You have to use this ink for watercoloring. Even some of the other permanent inks are not so permanent when you try to watercolor with them.

Then, I chose my first color, sky blue.

Just a small dab with do ya'

And I painted my overalls. Remember to go outside the lines and leave a few blank spots. It looks better. Isn't that color so vibrant and yummy!

Next, I added a little bit of purple.

And then finished up with some crimson to bring it together with the patterned paper.

I also shaded the background with a little bit of gray. Then, after it dried completely, I mounted it on two punched Giga Scalloped Squares and added it to my card.

My patterned paper is from DCWV and my Stampin' Up card stock is Vintage Violet. I used brads and polka-dot ribbon and a little spiral clip that I got a JoAnn's. The tag was punched from my cuttlebug tags die and I stamped the word "Thanks" by Gina K. Designs on an angle. Then I sponged some Tempting Turquoise around the edges.

Voila! A very easy way to watercolor. I stamped up a whole bunch of small things to be watercolored that I can take with me and it fits in a ziplock bag. I'm leaving it in the card because I hate to get caught waiting somewhere with nothing to do. This will make me happy and way less aggravated! LOL!

We will be carrying Peerless Watercolors at stampingfreak.com in the very near future and I will let you know when they are available.

Well, off to do a little business and then to bed. I hope you all catch up on your beauty sleep too. Who would have thought that one hour would hurt so much! LOL! I'm getting old...
