OOPS! It's a great thing!

Don't you love when you make a mistake and it turns out to be a great thing?

I made this card tonight using that same pack of fun patterned paper from Stampin' Up. I can't believe how many different looks I'm getting out of one small pack of paper! Very cool!

If you take a closer look at this card, you may notice a little greeting that is not really part of the "Make a Wish stamp set."

Well here's the story.

When I create a stamps set like this, I like to include an index sticker on the sticker sheet. This sticker is meant to placed on the side of the box so you can easily find your stamp set when it is under a pile of other stamp sets.

So after I created the images and index sheet, I forwarded the file on to the plater to make the magplates. About a hour later, I remembered that I forgot to remove the index sticker and copyright sticker. I quickly called but they said, "Oh, sorry. Too late, unless you want us to make it again." Well, that's no cheap choice. So I said, "No, that's okay, we'll just cut it off when we cushion it."

But then, it hit me. Hey- this is like a little bonus stamp in every set! It fits in the word window punch and it's just the right size when you need a little something! YAY! A FREEBIE! Who doesn't like that.

Now for the unmounted set with cling vinyl, it's a no-brainer. Just cut it out and use it. You can also use the copyright stamp if you want. (But you don't have to. Of course, I think it's cool but...)

If you purchased the wood mounted set, here's what you can do.

Open up your set and mount all your stamps. Put your stickers on your blocks and index your plastic box with the index sticker.

Remember to save this little piece at the bottom..

Trim the little Make a Wish phrase. (In this photo, you will see that I saved both.)

Then, mount the little phrase on the end of your cake stamp, like this.

Now, you have a wood mounted extra to use in all those tight little places. A set of 9 becomes a set of 10! Yippee!!

Here are some more gorgeous samples from our Make a Wish design team.

Gina, I love these stamps. I am just waiting for a little cash to get my own set ;^)*

I do have a request -- (since I have the first set for autism and plan to get this set and all others, hehehe)

Could you make up a stamp that we can use on the back of cards that says something generic like:

This card was created using Stamps for a Cause. Please visit ginakdesigns.com for more information and to help support a Good Thing!

Or something like that -- it would tie people receiving the cards into the loop and maybe even generate more interest!

I sure would love a stamp like this... maybe it could be an "incentive" to folks who order in the first couple of weeks? Something to offer as blog candy? Prizes for people who make cards using your set and send them to you to give to a local charity??? It could be added to an order for a small amount?

thanks for all you are doing!

I find my self just as excited to check out the new samples each day as I was to see the set to begin with. Now, to wait patiently to get mine in my hands! I have truly enjoyed each sample i see with the wishing well It's just a BEAUTIFUL stamp. I have been trying to think of a way to catch the "magic" so to speak of the wishing on a Dandelion - I should have known that would be done by Erika. When I saw this card, before I saw the creators name I thought ... I could see Girlie blowing this one. You really have a fantastic Design team. Just one more Blessing that you share with us each day! Thanks Gina!

Every morning I get excited to check my e-mail to see what you have come up with next.

This card is cute! I may have to break down and get it, unless you give it away as a prize for a drawing....that I would hope to win!

I will say it over and over again. I love this stamp set. I received mine yesterday and I have been busy stamping all day today. I think the "bonus" stamp may be my favorite. The small size is perfect.

I also have to say that I love Julie's idea above for the stamp for the card backs to recognize where the stamp images came from. It could only help to direct people to purchase their own set.

Thanks again for the lovely set. You definitely made a winner in my book.

What a beautiful stamp set. And a wonderful thing to be doing for the Make a Wish. These kids need and should have and get all the help they can. They have suffered enough, so they should be rewarded with such a small gift as "THEIR" wish.
I can't wait to get my set.
Thanks for doing such a wonderful thing.
    God Bless you!

I was very confused because I wasn't paying attention and I ended up with the little "Make a Wish" stamp with no matching wood. I didn't at first realize it was the label! No way was I going to throw it out! What a bonus!
Thanks! And a big thank you for the "cause" sets. I have both and love them!
