Something just 4 you!

I really love to give gift cards for birthdays and holidays!
I also love to get them. There's something so fun about someone handing you a little shopping spree! The only thing I don't like about gift cards is the fact that there is nothing to open. But with these CD tins, now there can be.

When you get the CD tins from Gina K. Designs, they come bubble wrapped, two in a pack with gift card inserts inside and two shrink bands in case you want to seal them up. Because this project has some dimension, I wouldn't recommend shrink wrapping it.

I decided to pick up an iTunes card because they are great birthday gifts for my daughter's friends.

I cut two pieces of patterned paper 5 1/4 X 4 1/2 and then I used my Stampin' Up corner rounder to round the edges.

I glued those to the top and bottom of my CD tin. Then I cut two pieces of ribbon. I cut one 11 inches and one 12  inches. I ran my tape runner along the entire length on the ribbon.

Then, I turned the lid over and applied the ribbon to the inside of the lid. Make sure that you press the ribbon into the edge so it's nice and tight. This way your lid can close.

Then wrap it around the top of the lid.

Next, I used a stamp from the "Festive Labels" stamp setInstead of using an ink pad, I used three colors of my Stampin' Up markers. This way, the greeting could be multi-colored. I colored each area of the stamp the color I wanted to stamp it in and then I huffed, (breathed moist warm air on it to re-wet it.) Then stamped it.

This greeting is made to work with the Giga scalloped rectangle punch. I punched it out using this punch.

Then, I sponged the edge with Pink and then Brown to give it some depth.

I used some dimensionals to raise it off the lid. Here is a picture of the open case with the gift card insert inside.

You can see by doing the lid this way that the ribbon is permanent so you can easily open the lid and still keep the top intact.

And here is the photo of the finished projects closed.

We've made some decisions about how we are going to proceed from here regarding our new releases.

We were planning on releasing stamp sets every month. But after careful evaluation, we realize that because of the way I create images, every month is not realistic. I do a lot of hand drawing. Very little of what I do is done on the computer. Did you know that I drew over 100 pigs before I got it the way I wanted it? The expression had to be just right. Just right takes time. We want to produce images that are different and useful, not to mention funny as in "Tickle your funny bone." We also want to continue to produce Stamps for a cause. (Actually, if that's all I could do, I would. Funny how those bills get in the way. LOL!) And, we always want to release at least four stamp sets at a time.

We realize that you like us! We like you too. So we found a wonderful new manufacturer that is going to be helping us with our rubber manufacturing. This will help us ship your products to you a million times faster in the future.

We have decided that we will have six releases a year, every other month. Our next release will be on Jan 1st. It will have at least four new stamp sets. One will be our new "Tickle your funny Bone" set. (It's really funny!!!) One will be a new Gina K. tin set. One will be a brand new Stamps for A Cause set and one will be a free set with the purchase of any three sets. We plan to always do that. On December 1st, the Punchy Words set will be available to purchase.

Our next release party

As far as our next release party goes, we will have it on January 1st at 7:00 PM central and then the doors will open at 9:00 PM central with all of the newly released products.

This means a slight change in our new design team plans. Instead of having the opportunity to be on our team for three months, you'll be on it for four months! This way, you will get two brand new releases and on the off months, you get to choose what you want to use-free!!

The next round of designers will join Gina K. for our March release. (They will start in February.)

I am so excited about all of this. I never want to release something just to release something and 8 weeks in between is just perfect for me to get busy with my pens!!

What else is coming in January?

How about the new Gina K. Designs "Bling and Dazzle tins!!" These tins will have some fabulous new embellishments that all work together. They are so fun!!!! We are working with Prima and a couple other companies to create our very own embellishment kits and you're gonna' love them!

Lots of fun stuff on the horizon! Now, a quick nap and back to packing orders!

Hugs,
Gina K.

What a cute way to use these tins other than just to store stamps. You are so creative! I NEED these tins badly now!

I think I just thought of another thing to do with them.

I can't wait to see what you show and create at the OOAK show in a week.

Love the CD tin! Since I have two teenagers, gift cards and iTunes cards are my staples for birthdays! Guess I'll have to place another order...

Your plan for releasing sets sounds great! I can't imagine how busy you'll be, but I'm sure that's half the fun! Everything you do is terrific -- can't wait to see what's coming Jan 1!!

That is just perfect, every other month releases. It helps me to budget better because I know I'll want them, so thanks for thinking of our financial planning, too! I can't wait for the "Tickle Your Funny Bone" in January. I love humourous stamps and have a twisted sense of humour to fit right in with them.

Wow...that tin looks great. I love the idea of tucking the ribbon around the whole front...that way no loose edges hanging off. I also love the double sponging of pink and then brown. Very pretty and funky and fun.

Are those security numbers getting smaller or do I need a new prescription? lol

Gina this new release schedule is a great idea. Take all the time you need, feeling rushed produces only a mess or hard feelingd afterwards about yourself or your work.
There's no need fo rthat. We all think you are great and Miss AliciaK too! What's she up too??
    You have a good/great thing going on as an artist and generous helpful woman.. keep them coming at whatever pace pleases you. :}

    Truthfully it's easier for me to budget this way as well.. Every month seems greedy to me to be purchasing so this will make me feel less 'selfish!" :}

I love the tin! You did a terrific job, and the colorin on the edge of the tag is something I love to do as well. It really does add dimension and color, doesn't it?!

I purchased a couple of these for gifts, but after I received my 10 free stamps, I decided I was using one for myself to put my miscellaneous Gina K stamps in I also purchased some vinyl cling, so I am all set. I just might even attempt to take some of my other ones off the block. I really like the ease of storage you have given us with these CD tins--AWESOME!
