Sew, You want to win a Janome Sew Mini?

It's blog candy time!

If you just stopped by for the first time today, you may want to check out today's four part tutorial on using the Janome Sew Mini sewing machine. (This tutorial will work for most sewing machines because most machine are basically set up the same way.) Feel free to share these tutorials on any of the message boards out there. I am part of four different message boards and everyone is always asking questions about sewing and about this machine. I am not affiliated with Janome in any way. I just wanted to share what I know and help make sewing easier for you.

Part 1- Getting started- Making a bobbin
****
Part 2- Threading the machine
****
Part 3- Inserting the bobbin
***
Part 4- Stitching

And, if you'd like to win one, drop a comment here and I will draw a name on Friday morning and announce the winner of their very own brand new Janome Sew Mini!! (I'll have it directly shipped to you.)

Good luck!!
Hugs,
Gina K.

WOW Gina, your generosity continues to astound me- giving away a sew mini! WOW.

I never considered one of these before because I have a good sewing machine, but not a great one- but you're right that the paper dust and such means you should stick to something like this for paper (not to mention not having to change the needle constantly).

Your tutorials were amazing- I agree with the poster on the first post that said you should send them to Janome. Probably the best I've ever seen on "how to get it out of the box and started!"

    Great tutorial series!

Wow, Gina, that is some awesome blog candy. I have been watching the tutorials as they come in on my email--then head to the site to see as well. I love to sew on my cards, but dragging out the big sewing machine is a chore and then the thread tension gets wonky . . . oh, I could go on and on, but I won't LOL Thanks for a chance to win such a sweet little machine. You did a great job with the tutorial. It must have taken you some time to do it. I did like the tip on not using your expensive sewing machine with paper. I didn't know that the paper would get into the machine like that and I definitely don't want to mess up my Bernina. It would be terrific to win that Janome sew mini. I have been checking on this machine since I saw your tutorials and Hancock Fabrics has it for $10 off the regular price but then you have to pay for shipping if they don't have one local to you. Ugh.

These tutorials are great. I am a sewer, (is that right, it looks like I go down the drain into the sewer, not that I am a sew-er). Anyways, I have a old machine that was my grandma's and I am nervous about using it for my cards because I don't want it to get clogged with fibres, and not be able to use it for cloth. I have looked for this Janome mini, or something similar, but have not yet found anything. I went to the website to order, but they don't ship to Canada. I even thought I would just pick one up on a shopping trip to Minot, but Minot doesn't have a store, Bismark is the closest store. So, a long comment to say, you rock! These were great tutorials, and I would love to win this mini machine.

I don't sew on my cards, because I have a big, old, grumpy not-so-handy sewing machine. It lives in the back in of my closet. Sometimes its happy and makes beautiful straight lines when I'm sewing, then all of a sudden it gets mad, and makes all this crazy loops on the backside. I have given up on sewing, because I don't know, when the machine are in a bad mood, and going to ruin my project. So it would be nice to win a bran new machine, small and handy, and (hopefully) with a better mood

Gina, you are one of the most generous people I know! Your generosity astounds me.

I have seriously thought about getting one of these, but I am not a sewer. I think I barley passed Home Ec! Although my DH and I are tall, our son will (most likely) be short (we adopted him overseas.) I keep thinking that I can justify getting a sewing machine to stitch up his pants, then I would have a machine to sew on my cards. I've just been too afraid to make the jump. Oh how I would appreciate winning this machine.

I have tried sewing on others machine and I was so excited that I went and bought a $15 used one from our thrift shop only to find it had 2 settings and it ate paper. I have never been so sad in my life. Thank you so much for your informative tutorial. I am totally not a sewer but am definitely someone who wants to be one.
Thanks for this chance Gina--if you pick me I will make you proud *wink*

It was especially great to find out NOT to use a regular machine due to the potential harm it may do(I've been using a machine from my Grandmother). Thanks too for the chance to win one of these cool machines. Will be watching your blog for much more great info. Thanks so much, Tina
