A simple card with the stamp-a-ma-jig
Every once in a while, I get in the mood for a clean and simple layout that focuses on the greeting. Tonight is one of those nights. (BTW, my blog provider made some updates to the system and now I can't resize my font. I hope it shows up bigger on my blog. I apologize if it's smaller tonight. I'll have to see if they can fix that if it didn't go through right.)
The stamp set that I used for this card is the "One free with 3" stamp set called "Tag, you're it!" It was designed to work with the Gina K. Designs Bling and Dazzle plastic tags but it also works great by itself. On March 10th, when we release our newest stamp sets, this set will be available for puchase. We'll be releasing a brand new "One free with 3" set!
Take a look at the greeting up close.
I used the stamp-a-ma-jig to create the checked box. This is the actual stamp. I created it to be used a couple of different ways but my favorite way is the checked box.

If you've never used a Stamp-a-ma-jig, you may be a little intimidated by it. You may have even seen it demonstrated, ordered one and then never took it out of the package. Well, go get it and follow along. You can do this!
Inside the package, you get the stamp-a-ma-jig tool and an imaging sheet. Take the imaging sheet and tuck it into the corner of the stamp-a-ma-jig tool. (Yours should be laying flat on your table. I am holding it up because you can't see the imaging sheet on the table but you can see it if I hold it up to the light.)
The next step is to stamp your image, first on the imaging sheet. Stamp it by tucking the inked up stamp into that same corner as the imaging sheet and pressing down onto the imaging sheet.
Your imaging sheet will look like this.
Then, stamp your image where you want it to be on your paper.
(In this case, because I want to make a checked patter, I turned my paper 1/4 turn. Normally, you would not need to do this when using the stamp-a-ma-jig for other uses like stamping a phrase straight or lining up a stem with a flower.)
Then, place the stamped imaging sheet on top of your stamped image exactly where you want your next image to be placed. Place the handle up against the imaging sheet again. This is how it will look.
Then, remove the imaging sheet, being careful not to move the stamp-a-ma-jig handle and slip your inked stamp tightly into the the corner and press down.
Your final image in this case will look like this. See how it's right on!
To get the two-toned look, I actually stamped off once before I stamped it the second time. Both blues are actually from the same ink pad but by stamping it once on scratch paper before actually stamping it on my card, it lightened the color.

Tomorrow evening, I will post the first sneak peek of our three day preview party! And then on Monday night, March 10th, we'll be celebrating our release over at Splitcoastampers from 7-9 PM central time in our member company forum. I will post the link here in my post on Sunday night so you can find us easily on Monday!
We'll be having games and contests including four challenges! We'll be giving away lots of stamp sets and lots of new bling!
I hope you enjoyed this little tutorial tonight! I am looking forward to spending the next few days with you sharing all our new fun stamps and accessories!
Much love to all!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Gina, your font shows up great! Your card is very pretty. I love that the focus was on the greeting.
Thanks so much for having a tutorial on the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig. I have not been able to use one. I always mess it up.

Thanks so much for posting this tutorial. I actually am a huge fan of the stampamajig and sing it's praises constantly. I've talked to both my DS and my SIL -- both are intimidated by it! I'll send them to this tutorial now! TFS! Jeanne

What timing! Mine arrives today after years of stamping. I AM a bit intimated as how to use it and was planning on trying to figure it out tonight because I'm teaching my stampers how to use it on Sunday!! Thank you so much for another great tutorial and can't wait to see the new release! Gina, you ARE the BEST!

Love the tutorial. I have never seen how a stamp-a-ma-jig works. It took me two times of reading through before I understood it even. But it makes sense finally why I would want to buy one. Also I love that stamp and how it looks like folded ribbon.

That plaid box is cool! Now I have to re-think my need for that set. What other wonderful things can that little box stamp do?

You're right - I'm intimidated by the stamp-ma-jig; I've never even bought one; but this helps tremendously. I'm "assuming" the ink then just wipes off the image sheet? Thanks so much Gina, fabulous tutorial!!
