Preview Day 3

Sorry this is so late! It's really long! Lots to show you! LOL!

Today, I am so excited to begin by bringing you a new and beautiful stamp set from our very own Carolyn King!

Carolyn called me a couple of month's ago with an idea for a stamp set that would bring to mind a window box in spring, full of beautiful chunky little flowers that could be colored directly with markers, inked up with colored ink pads and would bring a spring garden to any project. I thought it was a super idea. And, of course, with Carolyn's talent, I knew it would be fabulous.

What I didn't know was how much I would fall head over heels in love with this stamp set! One thing that I love about it is that all the greetings in the set match the greetings in our free set this month! That means, you can mix and match and put it all together to get a thousand times more use out of both sets!

I went in a different direction than I usually go with gorgeous flowers like this. I decided to make an Asian themed card. It was hard for me not to go with spring colors but I really wanted you to see just how versatile this stamp set is. The set is called "Framed Flowers." Look at this!

How in the world did Carolyn draw flowers that are both chunky and delicate at the same time? LOL!  Baffles the mind but WOW! This is just so cool.

The greeting actually said, " Thank you for being a friend." (Wouldn't that be a beautiful greeting to go with the "Mom" stamp in the free set?) In this case, I just used some scotch tape over all the words but "friend." Then, I inked it up and tore the tape off. Only the word friend was inked and I stamped it.

Here is another view where I made a little tin purse to go with it. You could put a gift card in this little purse and give them as a set.

Do you like the little purse?

The border is from Melanie Muenchinger's second set! It's called "What's in your tin? Set 2"
If you look at it closely, it's actually a solid stamp but you can "kiss it" to a background stamp or in this case, stamp it on textured paper for a totally cool look!

See that bling in the center? These are another new embellishment called Gina K. Designs, Bling & Dazzle Mega Rhinestones!

These come in assorted colors in a pack of 15 and they are only $2.99! Wow, do this look great inside flowers! You're gonna' love them!

Melanie's second tin set is designed more for "Big Kids" like us. It has some of the most useful sayings!

Right now, everyone I know is sick. They all have either terrible colds or the flu! I decided to start a few Get Well Soon tins that I could fill with a couple of tea bags, some tylenol and a few cough drops. These would be a good little tin to keep in one's desk at work and the way everyone's coughing around here, I think they will be well received!

I love these little purses! I'm going to show you how easy it is to get that little corded handle on there. This new piercing tool is on it's way to our online store and we should have a couple hundred in stock in a few days. It's by Making Memories. I didn't think I needed another piercing tool because I have a fabulous one from Stampin' Up.

But when I saw this tool, I realized, yes, I have room for two. First of all, it's only $2.99! Second of all, it has this super cool threader on the other side. It's meant for thinner things like cording. (Not for thicker ribbon.) If you have ever tried to feed cording through a little hole, you know that by the end, you need a couple of motrin and a nap. You can't do it! It unravels like crazy!

This tool does it all.

To begin, I poked two holes on the hinged side on my tins. It takes a little muscle but you can do it.

Then, I used the threader side of the tool and pushed it through from the inside, like this.

Here's what it looked like on the other side.

Then, I slipped my cording through the head of the threader.

And then pulled it through to the other side.

Once I got it through to the other side, I made a knot, like this.

And I did that to both sides.

Then, I trimmed my knots. That made my cute little handle!

Oh wow, do I love Rupa's set already!! I also loved the colors you used for coloring, can you tell us which copics you used? I know, a pain with all you've got going the next few days, but I LOVE that card. Melanie's set looks to be great also. Great tip on both sets.
