Jessica

I'd like to introduce you to someone special.
This is Jessica.

Isn't she just adorable! Jessica teaches many of the classes in our retail store in Wisconsin. I know a lot of you have emailed me and wanted me to post pictures of some of the wonderful ladies that I have the privilege of working with at Gina K. Designs.

Jessica teaches all sorts of fabulous classes for us. From scrapbooking type classes like flip books and envelope books to coloring techniques like watercoloring and odorless mineral spirits, Jessica is a top notch instructor. (She just taught a fabulous class on the Nestabilities and I learned so much about how to use these from her. I will be sharing it here with you soon.)

I told Jessica that she should start a blog. She said no. LOL! (I think she could be persuaded if I don't let up on her.) I told her that some of her samples needed to be seen. Again, she said no to the blog idea. So, I told her that her samples may have to become part of my blog because they are too darned gorgeous to be sitting all by themselves on the shelves of our store.

I love how Jessica used the cuttlebug on her envelope to match this card! (She loves her cuttlebug! Who doesn't, right?) I never think to do up my envelope like this. She also used the Nestabilities on her ovals. This card uses the new Spring Blooms stamp set that is currently our "one free with 3" set.

She did some super cool thing with some pearlie stuff and her finger on this card and then she made me spend like $2000.00 on new merchandise for the store so I can make this card. Yeah, like I've never done that before. LOL! So, when the new fun pearlie stuff comes in, I'll write up a tutorial and show you how she did this!

This card uses Rupa Shevde's new set, "Thinking of You" and she also used the Scor-pal for the lines and the Nestabilities for the rectangle.  I love this card!!

This card was part of her Odorless Mineral spirits class and I love how she used a pair of Fiskars scissors to create a scalloped edge and a fiskars hand-held heart punch to embellish it! Nothing like pulling out those tools you bought a million years ago and making them look so "today."

And there are like a million other Jessica cards and projects floating all over our store just like these!

I've decided to post Jessica cards here on my blog now and then until I finally either talk her into her own blog or she quits because she can't stand me telling how great her projects are anymore! (Just kidding Jess. I'll ease up. )

A quick FYI about our retail store. We will be closing the store Friday, Saturday and Sunday this week because we are doing the Milwaukee Rubber Stamp Round-up show at the State Fair Park. If you are in the area, make sure you stop by and see us. I will be demoing there and would love to meet you.

We will also be closed on Monday and Tuesday night after 5:00 PM to get prepared for the show.
Sorry for any inconvenience- but we'll be back to our regular hours after that.

Well, I've got more samples and a weekend blog candy giveaway coming up, so stay tuned!

Have a great day!
Hugs,
Gina K.

It is nice to see the face of one of the lovely women who work with you Gina. All 3 of her cards are beautiful! I love how she finished off her envelope using a cuttlebug folder. I also loved seeing how she used the fiskar scissors and then used the heart punch too. What is the pearly stuff called. I love that card.

I think it's the radiant pearls that we ordered. I know they aren't anywhere near new, but they will be a new addition to our store. I'll let you know when I look at the invoice.

Seriously Gina, these cards are amazing! How fortunate you are to have such great talent working for you. Also, your blog is such an incredible FREE resource to so many of us--have you ever considered doing a compilation CD of all the tutorials so we can purchase them? They are amazing, and so helpful, it would be nice to have them close at hand without having to find them on the internet. Just a thought...uumm...just a wish...

    Thanks for all you do!

I'm the odd one out --- I feel not everyone has to have a blog. Jessica has so much talent and creativity and teaching style. Don't spread her too thin by adding blogging. Keep on featuring her and others. When the time is right to spread her wings into cyberspace, she'll know!

I too would love for Jessica to start a blog, but it's not for everyone! It's great to have Guest Designer Spots to Showcase hers and the other gals talents though! OH Gina, how fun would it be to do LIVE Tutorials!! You could start by showing the inside of the store (for those of us who will never be able to step inside), then the work area and each week have Jessica or one of your other Designers create a Fabulous project start to finish! Great Techniques used on these 3 cards Jessica, love them all.. especially the cuttlebugging of the envelope! Very Clever! I'm sold on the Nestabilities Sets too and can't wait to see more use of this radiant pearls!

This is off topic, but how do you get your stamps to come out so black? My stamps are coming out in a really pale black color. Is there a special way to stamp or is it only Brilliance Graphite Black that can render such a dark color? Thanks.
