Inspiration winner

I loved reading about all the wonderful people who have inspired you in your life. I randomly chose a name and the winner is:

Julie Fox wrote:
My Mom inspired me. She worked for years to raise 3 children and never complained.
So I work hard at everything that I do and it's all because of her. We lost her on May 2, 2008.
But I still think of all the things she did and would have done if she was still here.
She made me a better person.

Congratulations Julie! Send your address and stamp set choice to info@ginakdesigns.com . We'll get your stamp set right out to you!

You can continue to enter the drawing for Asela's new set, "Flowers for Daisy," in the post below. I will be back after midnight with Preview Day 2.

Hugs,
Gina K.

I think it is awesome when a person wants to do something memorable for a friend who is going through tough times. Designing "Flowers for Daisy" is a lasting tribute to a friendship, and donating proceeds will help lots of others in need. BRAVO to Asela AND Gina!

I realize that everyone has someone special in their lives but I just wanted to take a few minutes to share my Bessie. My mom had TB when I was born and I was immediately whisked away and sent to another hospital where I stayed for 5 months. There wasn't anyone at 'home' to care for me daily and my dad had to work. From there I was sent to another hospital in the country for another 5 months until I out stayed my welcome. My dad took me home and Bessie, a family friend's dtr who was 16 yrs old took care of me after school for 2 yrs until my mom was able to come home. She was a part of my life while growing up and up to now. She was always a mother/sister to me. Bess is artistic, talented, intelligent, generous, fun and 'bossy'. Last week she found out she has cancer and today the verdict....3 months. What is left to be said? She's been a blessing to me and I honor her here. I don't need to win anything. I just wanted to share Bessie with you. Thank you.

What a loving tribute Julie wrote about her mom being her inspiration. I'm glad she was able to share that loving story with everyone. I also think that what you do to give back to organizations through your stamps is wonderful and inspirational. Many people would be happy to put those extra few dollars from each set in their own pocket, Gina, but you are so kind and giving to share your profits with the different causes you and others support. Hats off to you.

The person who inspires me the most is my soon to be 16 (on Thursday-Yikes!) year old daughter. She has special needs and while life hasn't always been the easiest for her, she wakes up every morning with a smile and such a happy outlook on life. She has taught me so much and I am truly a better person because of her. I am so blessed and honored to be her Mom.

Julie I'm so sorry to hear of the recent loss of your Mom. I lost my Dad in July of 2000 to cancer & it still feels like yesterday. They say it gets easier over time, but I think at first our memories are the illness & grief then they become the memories of good times from the past, which helps ease the loss.
Congratulations on winning the free stamp set!

Julie, congrats on winning. Sorry for your lose my dear. It sounds like your mother was a real inspiration in your life. Losing your mom before Mother's Day had to be hard. The first holidays are the hardest. Remember all those things your mom taught you in life and continue on her memory.I know it helped me after dad passed in Oct. 2002, to start a scrapbook in memory of him. I haven't finished it, but scrapbooking isn't something that has a deadline for me. It's something I pick up and when I have a feeling of wanting to think of my dad or work on it, I do it. It's my own memory book. But I plan on sharing this book with my 8 siblings and mother on my dad's 10 year anniv. death date for a celebration we are planning in honor of his life. Since he passed 10/10/02.. The number 10 just fits it for us. God continue to bless you .
