Hey Chica!- My new design team gig!

Just before the CHA, Kim van der Sanden, the incredible rock star owner of My Favorite Things and I were having one of our coffee-clutch, long-winded phone conversations. These phone calls usually go on for quite some time and cover everything from what's new in the stamping biz to what's new with our kids.

On this day, those two conversations became one when Kim shared with me a sneak peek of a new stamp set that is part of a brand new line by her daughter, Brianna Smith!! Brianna's first illustrator that she "discovered" is a fabulously talented young artist named Chesney Young. I had seen Chesney's drawings in the past on what I believe was her Mom's blog and thought that they would make adorable stamps. But smarty-pants Brianna made it happen with the launch of her new line of clear stamps called "BC Dzyns."



Isn't this absolutely fantastic?

So, I said to Kim, "Hey, I wanna be on Brianna's design team!" (I knew my daughter Alicia would freak out with excitement for B. and she did as soon as she saw the stamps!)

Kim said, "Sure!" I thought she was kidding. Low and behold, the other day I got my "official Design Team stamp set" in the mail. I was tickled pink! I inked the stamps up right away and sent the card sample to Kim and she said that I could share it with you!

Now, my guess is that I am only a "one-time guest designer" as my schedule really doesn't allow for being on a real design team, (you know, with the Gina K. Designs stuff and all.) BUT- I am so proud of my friend and her daughter. I know how it feels to have your daughter or daughters working side-by-side with you on these kinds of projects and I wish Kim and Brianna the best of luck and a lifetime of success with this and all of their future endeavors! I know this will be a huge hit! (Alicia had a few of her 13 year old friends over and they saw this card. They all told me it was their favorite card they ever saw me make. They are not allowed over anymore. LOL!)

Then, you get a day off and it's back to the forums again for the Gina K. Designs release party that will start in our member company forum at 7:00 PM central time, Friday September 5th. We'll be releasing 5 new stamp sets including a new "One free with 3" and a special stamp set that will help children worldwide. We are also releasing 5 new 6X6 paper packs so stop by for contests, challenges, sneak peeks and tons of giveaways! Tomorrow, the preview party begins right here on my blog.
