One of those days...

Have you ever had one of those days? Well, yesterday was one of those days. I figured out that my computer has some kind of virus. But it's a weird kind of thing. I now get pop-ups all the time. Sports, credit card offers, dating services... all kinds of things. Then, sometimes, like when I'm in the middle of a great blog entry, internet explorer or Firefox will just shut down. Luckily, My wonderful hubby managed to back up my whole system just yesterday before things really started acting weird. He's working on it now. I'm sure he'll figure it out. But my laptop is part of my central nervous system, you know what I mean?

So, I decided to make a couple of cards instead. I love Rupa's "Whatever Floats your Boat" stamp set. These animals are so cute, They have such cute little expressions on their faces. This card is me this week. I bet it's you too if you have kids going back to school! New schedules, sports starting up and wonderful if you're coming or going!

For this card, I used lots of Basic Grey "Cupcake" paper and brads. I colored the elephant with Copics and then I used a Sakura Glaze pen to gloss her up. (You can tell she's a girl because her toenails are painted. LOL!)  I used a Sakura stardust pend to add glitter too.

For this next card, I just had to use the little mouse.

I should give this card to my husband for saving all of my computer files! I stamped the mouse on Stampin' Up whisper white and then trimmed him out. I used pop-dots to stick him on to that water patterned paper. Then, I used Basic Grey Cupcake paper, brads and buttons to embellish the rest of the card. Without ribbon or fibers, it can be a masculine card.

Here's an closer view of the mouse.

I love that little guy! He's just too cute.

Well, I have some exciting news.
I am now on a design team!
Yup, that's right! And tomorrow, I will be posting a sneak peek from this fabulous new line of stamps! (I know, you're thinking, huh? Who in the world ask you to be on their design team? Well, nobody. I asked them. You'll just have to come back and see.)

And, Tuesday begins our sneak peek preview party for our new release at Gina K. Designs. You will flip when you see our new fall stamps! They are so fun!!!!

So, make sure you stop back tomorrow, 'K? Hee-hee...

Hugs,
Gina K.

How lucky you are, Gina! I wish I was on a DT and that would be my excuse that I would HAVE TO make cards. I just can't find the time anymore. I think the older your kids get the busier you get. Do I have to wait until they are 18 before I find some quiet time for me!!!

Congratulations on your Design Team position! I'm excited to see what is going to be released this month. It's been too long since the last release, lol! And your cards are great. That is one set I don't have, but the more I see it, the more I want it. Also, my laptop is my lifeline to my world of stamping, as well as all my friends that are far away, and my husband who's stationed in Korea right now. So I totally know what you mean! I would be lost with my laptop!

I wish I had half of your talent - you are our design team! You come up with the neatest ideas. Either way, I can't wait to see what you come up with. I wish I could give you some of my sets of stamps and show me what cool ideas you come up with - for the life of me I can't remember why I bought some of them!

I'm sorry to hear about your computer issues. It is unfortunate that we can't just enjoy ourselves in our happy little stamp rooms sharing our creativity without picking up malware, adware and the like.

I want to share a link with you for your hubby that has wonderful instructions on what to do, step by step, to fix most problems that folks encounter. It is -
    http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic58138.html

I have used it multiple times, all 4 computers in our house and a couple of friend's computers. It has worked like a charm for me every time. I like this method much better than what most repair places will tell you to do and that is to reformat your hard drive - no thanks!

Btw - I can't wait for tomorrow to find out "the rest of the story" as Paul Harvey would say....

    Blessings,
    Cyndi

Your comment "(You can tell she's a girl because her toenails are painted. LOL!)" made me truly laugh out loud. My darling niece (aged 5) told me last week she knows the difference between boy cats and girl cats. I cringed, but asked her to tell me anyways. It turns out that girl cats have long eyelashes! Who knew?

Your card made me smile too, as I've been having a challenging day trying to work out how to use my new camera with my old laptop (with a bored 5 year old DD - it's raining - and a teething 8-month old who also has a head cold demanding a *bit* of my time as well)

Thanks for the cyber-greeting, it truly made me smile! Can't wait to see who you're designing for...

Both of your cards are so cheerful and colorful. I say "hang in there" a lot so I love the sentiment that you used in your first card. The second sentiment goes so well with the little mouse paddling on the water.

I hope that your computer gets fixed very soon.
