Preview Day 1- So Grateful

So many blessings have come into my life this past year.

I am blessed with a wonderful husband, children and family. My friends are a gift. I am also blessed to be able to come to work every day to do something I love and meet so many wonderful customers who quickly become my friends. It's a blessing to be able to share what I love here on my blog with all of you.

My friend Rupa Shevde is definitely a huge blessing in my life. I met Rupa last year just around Thanksgiving time. We were doing a rubber stamping show here in the Madison area and she came to our booth. She asked if she could speak with me for a few minutes. When we sat down to talk, she pulled out a little binder that held many of the beautiful pieces of art that she had created and asked me if I would have any interest in working with her and her illustrations.

As Rupa and I continued to talk, I realized that we were no longer talking about stamp images, vulcanizing rubber or contract particulars. Instead, we were talking about how we could use her art to help make a difference. She told me that she was drawn to my company because of our "Stamps for a Cause" and that's why she wanted to work with me.

Thanksgiving is time for our families to spend time together, remember the things we are thankful for, laugh together, reminisce and, of course, eat. I don't know about your family, but in our family, we EAT. There's usually a traditional turkey, potatoes, gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce, fresh baked breads salads and so much more. We are so fortunate and we are truly grateful.

But not everyone is so fortunate. There are children in places of the world, including right here in the USA and in Canada who haven't eaten in days. They live in a world where disaster, poverty and disease are a way of life. But there is an organization that is there to help.

Feed the Children

Feed The Children responds to disasters worldwide, wherever they strike. They help provide food and supplies to children and their families quickly and efficiently. From hurricanes to tsunamis to earthquakes and floods, they help save lives and bring hope to people in need throughout the world.

We are overjoyed to say that, for a limited time, when you purchase the new stamp set, "So Grateful," a generous portion of every sale will go directly to "Feed the Children." You will love this versatile stamp set. It's not only  a traditional Thanksgiving set, but also a seasonal style set that you will be able to use any time you want to drop a note of thanks.

There are two beautiful Bible verses which reflect our gratitude to the Lord for all of His gifts, and more casual "Thank you" style greetings for celebrating the kindness of others. Our "Feed the Children" Promotion will go all the way through Thanksgiving.

Wait until you see the beautiful clean-lined images Rupa has created in this set. I know you will love it as much as I do!

I had a lot of fun making this card. The brass wheel, brad and arrow are by Tim Holtz. I also used the Fiskars Threading Water punch. The patterned papers are from the new 6 X 6 Basic Grey "Ambrosia" pack.

After I stamped this barrow full of apples, I wanted to create a little texture on the wheel barrow itself.

I began by stamping my image using Memento Black Ink. (I used a Dew Drop pad. These will be available on Friday night along with our new release.)

Then, I colored the wheel barrow with E-35 (brown).

Next, I grabbed the colorless blender marker and, using the Chisel end of the marker, I drew some lines across the "wood."

When I finished, it looked like this.

It added just the right amount of texture I was looking for.

So, how do you like Rupa's set so far. (Oh there's still LOTS of it you haven't seen that will be revealed during our release party on Friday night. )

Would you like to win one?
Every day during our preview party, I will give away a new release stamp set, and today, you can enter to win this one! Just leave a comment here and I will randomly choose a winner and post it tomorrow, right here on my blog.

.  .  .  .  .
Many times, we as stampers may not have anything on the agenda to stamp. It may be too early for Holiday cards and there are no birthdays around the corner. Those times are great times to stamp a few cards of gratitude to send out for Thanksgiving. What a nice way to let someone know how grateful you are that you have them in your life.

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Gina, Thanks for the reminder that many of us need now and then that there are those who have much less than we do. Yes, the Bible tells us to help those in need and I'm so glad that our family does that each week. The wheelbarrow is just wonderful with the apples in it. I am mentoring now with a group of ladies doing what is called "apples of gold" and that stamp really caught my eye. It would be neat to give each lady a set of cards with that on at the end of our time together. Thanks for all you do for others and allowing me the chance to win one.

This is a beautiful card Gina! What a wonderful way to send a thought of gratitude. I can't wait to see the full set on Friday. There is such a need for food and you have chosen a wonderful cause to support. My church has a food pantry and is distributing 14-15,000 pounds of food every month to people in our community that need some extra help. It is so much harder for people during disasters. Thank you for thinking of that and making that your upcoming stamps for a cause. Our food pantry's motto is "Hunger Knows no Season" and gratitude shouldn't either.
    Thanks for all you do.
