Preview Day 2- Free and Spooky

Part one

With every release comes our much anticipated "One free with 3" stamp set.

This is a special stamp set that is not available for sale but it's our free gift to you when you purchase any three stamp sets in one order. (If you purchase any single stamps, 3 single stamps equals one stamp set toward the three you must purchase to get the promotional set.) When the next release comes out, the last "One free with 3" goes into our regular inventory at the regular $18.95 price.

This month's "One free with 3" is one of my favorites to date. Wait until you see the beautiful images in this set!

It's called "Autumn Leaves."

Autumn leaves are one of my favorite things about the fall season. I love those rich browns, yellows and reds that cover the landscape and I couldn't wait to get these stamps into my hand so I could color them.

I began by stamping my image in Memento Black Ink. What I love about this ink is that you do not have to heat set it when working with Copic Markers. It dries almost instantly which is great for me because I am not very patient.

The first color I used is Copic Marker E-35.

Then, I added some orange (YR-16)  into the middle of the leaf.

Then, using a lighter tan-brown, (E-33) I colored over the brown edges and worked it toward the center, concentrating on blending the brown with the orange. The lighting was a little bright here so they look a little more orange than in real life. (The next picture is much more true to life.)

To finish, I used my colorless blender to pull off a little bit of color here and there and then I used a yellow marker, (Y-17) to tap a little yellow ink randomly throughout the leaves. You can see most of the yellow where I pulled the color off with the colorless blender marker.

Here is the entire sprig colored in.

I used my Janome sew mini to stitched the entire card.

I love the delicate greetings that come in this set.

They can be used together or by themselves to make all kinds of friendship sayings. This and several other greetings in this set fit a few of my favorite nestabilities dies like the ribbon tags and the tags trio.

Take a look at that gorgeous patterned paper.
This is one of 5 new patterned paper packs that will be released on Friday night! This pack is called "Rhythm."

When you first touch this paper, you will think you died and went to heaven. It is textured and feels like high quality linen. AND, ready? It's double sided!

It comes in my favorite size for card making- 6 X 6. Now, when you want to turn up a corner, you'll have a beautifully textured complimentary pattern on the other side. If you want to use up every bit of this paper, use one side for your background pattern. Turn over the extra strip you cut off and use that as your complimentary piece to go across the center. Voila! Hardly any waste at all!

This paper almost looks like fabric, it's so beautiful. It's both acid free and lignin free and there are 36 double sided sheets bound in a convenient paper pack for easy storage.
.  .  .  .  .
Part two

Another thing I really enjoy about fall is Halloween. It's so fun to hear all the crazy costume ideas my girls come up with. They've been everything from a ladybug to a chef. They get so excited about going around our neighbor to trick or treat. Now that they are getting a little older, Halloween parties are becoming all the rage.

The next set I want to show you is a fun set for lots of Halloween projects.

Every fun party starts with an invitation!

This stamp set is called "Spooky Silhouettes." I love the scarecrow because it's so different. I used the curved corner punch to punch a couple of pieces of another new patterned paper pack called "Ebony & Alabaster." This patterned paper reminded me of a stormy night. This is a quick and easy invitation to make. You can print the party details on some orange card stock and attach it to the inside and you're done.

But what about some matching treats?

This was a fun project to make. I began with a piece of Stampin' Up Pumpkin Pie card stock. I cut it to 8" X 3." Then, I scored it at 3 1/2" and 4 1/2" on a Scor-pal.

I used some Memento Ink in the color "Potter's Clay." I just rubbed it directly on the card stock.

Next, I stamped my images. Remember to check to make sure you stamp them in the right direction so they look correct when you assemble your treat holder.

I used one of the ovals from the petite plain oval nestabilites to create my cut out. I saved the cut piece and used it for my greeting for the top of the treat holder.

I cut a black topper using the long scalloped rectangle nestabilities. They are easy to score because you just count scallops and score between the center two.

I stapled a small bag of M & M's to the holder and then added my topper. I used screw brads to hold everything in place.

What do you think? Do you like "Autumn Leaves" and "Spooky Silhouettes" so far?
Would you like to win one?
I'm giving away one of each! To win, just leave a comment here and I will randomly pick two winners who will each win one of these sets and announce the winners here on my blog tomorrow!

So, who won yesterday's giveaway?

love the trick or treat bag...
My sisters birthday is on Halloween
and she will just love this for a treat
or maybe a little trinket inside the
bag. Love to buy her earring and they
    will be great inside. SURRISE

What a beautiful card! And the treat bag!!....I'm not sure I would have thought to use the oval cut out and attach to the tag! So simple and yet so elegant (If a halloween treat bag can be elegant.)
