Simple.
I am the queen of layers. I have made cards that have up to seven or eight layers and think nothing of it. But tonight, I decided that I would go simple. One layer.
This card was inspired by Jessica Fick. She always comes up with something new and different. When I saw her do this at one of our classes at our store, I had to give it whirl.
I began with a piece of Stampin' Up's Very Vanilla card stock. I embossed the front with the leafy branch cuttlebug folder. Then, I stamped the word "Grateful" from the new "So Grateful" stamp set in Memento cocoa brown ink.
I have tons of Prima flowers laying around so I put them to work and fastened them with some Basic Grey "Boxer" brads.
And that was it! The card took about 2 seconds to make. I was thinking what a nice gift a set of four with envelopes would make for a teacher or neighbor. According to my calculations, that gift would take 8 seconds to make. Hee-hee...
So, do you have the cuttlebug folder yet? NO?

Very nice---I have a lot of flowers and this is a great use them.

I think layering maximizes the dimensions and attractiveness of the project and also takes more time to complete but I love adding and sometimes don't know when to stop. But I love this 1 layered card. Simple but elegant. Also can complete more cards in a shorter period of time. Nice work.

Gina, this is so beautiful and what a bonus being able to make it in just 2 seconds!!! I am looking for a place to buy some plain white flowers and have not had any success. I can find all kinds of colors, but no white ones. Could you suggest someplace to purchase just plain white flowers. Love this card Gina. I saw something similar using Cuttlebug folders and punches. It used white cardstock, white punches, white ribbon and colored ink for the sentiment. I adapted it using different colors of cardstock, but keeping it monochomatic. It's now one of my favorite cards to make. Thanks for sharing this one.

Your card is wonderful and the best part is it can be made so quickly. I'm always in need of a shortcut. I don't have this folder, but have others that I still layer. Love your idea.!!

What an adorable card. You could even add a little glitz to it by painting the flowers with some clear glue and coating them with glitter. A quick shot of Glimmer Mist will also do the trick!

I love using the cuttlebug for simple one layer cards. It just adds so much to the card and non-crafters think you put a lot more work into the card than you actually did!

As much as I love all the amazingly detailed stamped images, colored and shaded to perfection, and then layered with various embossed nestie shapes...it is nice to be reminded that some of the best cards are the simple ones. Thanks for sharing.

I am always amazed at the number of comments you get, I think I am the 497th (wow). Anyhew, what a simple and elegant card. I think we get too caught up in all the frills and forget that a simple card like yours is just as beautiful and takes alot less time to create. Thanks for the reminder!!!!!
