Speechless.

I know you must be waiting to find out who won my weekend blog candy contest. I'm going to give it one more day because I need to share something with you.

Today is World Alzheimer's Day. Well, you all know that my friend Cammie designs stamps for Gina K. Designs. She designed this sweet set called Whimsical Autumn and she decided to give 100% of her proceeds to the Alzheimer's Association in honor of her Grandmother who suffered from this terrible disease.

Then she found out that if she donated by today, that the Alzheimer's Association would match her donation.

She's raised quite a bit on money already and now she's doing a GINORMOUS giveaway as a thank you to the care-givers!

Just take a look at the companies and designers who have contributed to this event. You can win over $1000.00 worth of products and many beautiful hand-stamped cards and projects by some of the rockstars in the industry!

Go check it out and enter to win right here:

I WANT $1000.00 WORTH OF STAMPING STUFF!

I promise, tomorrow, I will reveal my winner. (I just couldn't let you miss out on a chance to win a $1000.00 worth of goodies! Lots of gift certificates in there too!!)

Woo-hoo- go Cammie!

Hugs,
Gina K.

    Hi Gina,
Thanks for the link to Cammie's blog. I had to leave all my stamping stuff back in the States when we moved to Costa Rica in March to serve here as full-time missionaries. But, I wanted to say thank you, on behalf of my family back in the States and my Mom who suffers with Alzheimer's, to all of those who gave so generously to this wonderful cause! I know God is smiling!

This is simply amazing. The cards alone that are being donated are amazing let alone all of the awesome companies that have donated. As a family we watched my father-in-laws struggle with this awful disease and some of his brothers as well. It is devastating. My hats off to Cammie for her generousity and to everyone who is involved in this. I am overwhelmed by their kindness and generousity. It is awesome to see this in a world with so much trouble swirling around.

Having taken care of both of my grandmothers who both had Alzheimer's I commend every care giver with all my support. It is VERY hard to do. I know I have been there twice. It is hard on ones emotions to see someone's mind that you love so very much just dwendle away and there is not a whole lot you can do for it. It takes a great toll on you physically and emotionally. Sometimes I just wanted to give up but i knew in my heart that I could not give up on them, as they had loved me my wole life, and now it was my turn to take care and love them with all I had. During my 2nd grandmothers battle with this, I was not only taking care of her, but my parents were also going thru a divorce after 32 years of marriage. It was hard, but I made it thru. when my 2nd grandmother passed in 2004 My family from all around praised me for doing all I had done for her, knowing they could have never done it.
So I can tell you from my experience that taking care of an Alzheimer's patient is not easy, So I as a former care taker of 2 Alzheimer's know first hand the physical and emotional toll it takes on one. And in the end, you know that now, they are with our Lord, and now are free of all the pain and suffering. And for me, that gives me all the comfort of knowing that I did what I could to make thier lives as good as I could here on earth, and now they are watching over me taking care of me from above.
