Day 2

Today, I am excited to show you two more brand new stamp sets, a couple of fun accessories and a great gift idea. Of course, there will be a give away and at the end of today's entry, you'll find yesterdays winners.

I also wanted to answer your question, "Will the cruisers be getting these sets in their goodie bags? They answer is no. I have designed 8 exclusive stamp sets for the cruisers that will become available throughout the year in future releases. So if you see something you like during this release, you can purchase it without the worry of duplicates.

When I put together this month's "One free with 3" stamp set, I wanted to make sure it could be used for more than just the holidays and that it wasn't specific to Christmas.

I thought about winter and all kinds of scenes played in my mind. I imagined warm, cozy cabins with a crackling fire and warm blankets. I wanted this set to be able to be used for masculine cards too.

Introducing Winter Foliage.

When you receive your set of "Winter Foliage" you will find a wide array of pine sprigs, pine cones, words and more that not only allow for winter holiday cards but for birthday cards as well. (I am always looking for masculine birthday images and words.)

I used Basic Grey Archaic patterned paper and then stamped the images on top. Then, I added some Archaic buttons tied with Hemp twine to give them a more rustic feel. This is a fast and easy card to make and when you stamp the word "birthday" instead of "holiday," you have the perfect birthday card for your guy who enjoys the great outdoors!

Remember that this set is yours free with the purchase of any three stamp sets. (Three single stamps equals one stamp set of the three you need to purchase for qualifying purposes.)
.  .  .  .  .

Blessings.

Asela Hopkins and I talked for quite some time about what I was looking for when it came to our Christmas release. I told Asela that I really wanted her to draw a church.

I wanted a church with a realistic feel but not one that was complicated to color. I wanted to be able to make lots of Christmas cards quickly but still enjoy coloring a quaint image that reminded me of growing up back east in my little church that only had about 100 members.

Asela did a fantastic job bringing that to life with this gorgeous stamp that's part of her beautiful new set called "Christmas Blessings.'

I knew as soon as I saw this church that this would be the image I would showcase for you during our preview. I love the fact that she added a tiny snowman in the landscape because that's the kind of thing you would find at a smaller church in the country.

While the adults sat in the gathering space to socialize, the children would bundle up and run outside to play in the snow together.

This stamp set has some beautiful words too. I'm especially fond of the greeting, "Christmas Blessings." That's what I stamped inside.I added a couple of swirls using the EK success Flourish punch. I also added lots of stickles to make everything seem like ice and snow.

Someone asked me how I got my flourishes to go in different directions on patterned paper. All you have to do is turn the paper upside down to punch the second one. They will then go in two different directions. (You probably knew that but I had to think about it for a while before it came to me. LOL!)
.  .  .  .  .

Have you seen the new Basic Grey Glazed Brads? These are the most beautiful brads I have ever seen! When they first came in, I said to the girls at work that I thought they looked like jewelry! They are so well made and have a certain elegance about them.

So when I was designing some of my Holiday gift projects, I immediately thought that these brads should get in the act.

For this project, you will need two packs of the same style of glazed brads. Here I used the new Eva glazed brads. (These are only $3.99 a pack and when you see what you can do with them, you will realize that two packs are nothing compared to the gift value.)

We have most of the glazed brads in stock and we just received a shipment of Eva, Ambrosia and Offfbeat Glazed brads, regular brads and buttons that will go into stock with our new release.

I went to Hobby Lobby and purchased a bag of earring backs. They have both pierced and clip-on styles. You can purchase sterling silver at Michael's and JoAnn has some too.

I chose this patterned brad and then, using my Tonic scissors, I clipped the posts off the back of each brad.

Then, using a hot glue gun that I purchased at Hobby Lobby, (for only $1.99 and it came with two glue sticks too!) I dropped a ball of hot glue on the back of my brad.

Then, I pressed my earring back into the hot glue and allowed it to cool for a couple of minutes.

While the earrings were cooling, I made an insert to fit inside of our square window tins.

I began with a piece of patterned paper, (white distressed by Basic Grey,) that measures 5" x 5". When you line it up, you score on the arrow, turn it a quarter of a turn and score on the arrow again. Do that to all four sides.

Then, cut off your corner squares like this.

Next, I pierced two holes side by side to place my earrings through.

I placed the earring through the card an placed the card inside the tin. I cut a strip of Basic Grey Figgy Pudding to wrap around the outside of the tin to make it more festive.

Then, I tied some Pure Luxury Satin ribbon with Gold trim around the tin and I had a quick and easy gift that any girl would enjoy! These tins are available in our online and retail store.

I wanted to make something for my husband too. So I chose another glazed brad. This time, instead of an earring back, I used a tie tack back. (Purchased at Hobby Lobby too.)

Look at that beautifully elegant tie tack!

A couple of other new items we will be adding to the store will help you immensely this holiday season!

When I make cards, I like to use lots of rich dark cardstocks for bases. I make lots of cards that are black, chocolate brown or navy on the inside.

Introducing Pentel's Starburst Metallic Gel Pens

We picked these up at the CHA after a fabulous demo by the talented staff at Pentel Arts. I never thought there was much of a difference with gel pens. WOW, was I ever wrong! I love these pens for many reasons.

*They don't clog
*They write so smoothly
*They dry almost instantly- big plus!
*They have a bright metallic look so they show up so bright on dark cardstock- perfect for writing in your holiday cards.

We will have them in both colors and they retail for $1.99. These pens are a must-have for doodling all over your cards or for an elegant writing tool.

We also now carry the Ranger Inkssential White Opaque Gel pens. White can be tricky and I found that this white is VERY white, dries quickly and works when you need it to work!

(The green project is for showcasing purposes only and does not come with the pen.)

Tomorrow, I have two fabulous storage methods to share as well as Melanie Muenchinger's two new stamp sets! Yup, I said TWO from Melanie. These sets are beautiful and they are a side of Melanie you may not have seen before! You will love what she's created for you!
.  .  .  .  .

So, do you like the two new sets I showcased today?
Would you like to win one?
Just leave a comment here and I will randomly draw two winners and announce them tomorrow with my day three preview. Then, tomorrow night, it's PARTY LIKE A ROCKSTAR night in our member company forum from 7-10 PM central.

Then, on Friday, find out how you can participate in a fun little project that will make a WHOLE lot of difference and you may even win one of hundreds of dollars worth of prizes! Gina K. Designs celebrates WORLD CARD MAKING DAY! More to come on Friday!

Wow Gina, I don't know what I like the most, the new stamps or all the new tools and accessories. I especially love the earrings from brads since my other favorite hobby is making jewelry.

All of the sets are just great and of course want them all. Love the trees from yesterdays preview. The church is so pretty and could be used for so many things thru the winter. I checked the other blogs, the angel and church in Christmas Blessings makes this set a must have. Your blog is just great, check it everyday.
