Q & A about our WCMD promotion
I am thrilled about how excited everyone else is to make cards to send overseas.

Many of you posted some questions in the comments section and I'd like to answer a few of them here.
Can we make more than one card?
Yes, make as many as you'd like. Each card you make and send to us gives you another opportunity to win the prizes!
Can I make a bunch of the same card?
Yes, they can be the same.
Can I make Hanukkah cards and some generic 'winter wishes' type cards?
Yes, that would be wonderful! "Thinking of you" would be great too!
Can the cards be non-stamped?
Yes, as long as they are hand-made. I know some of you only use stickers and patterned papers to papercraft.
Can we use stamps from other companies?
No. Just kidding. Of course you can! I would never stand in the way of getting more beautiful cards to our military. If you have Gina K. Designs stamps, please use them because I wanna' see what you make. But if you want to use other stamps, go right ahead.
Should I put postage on the envelope?
No. They will need to use the right type of postage to get those cards back home and we will be sending them in a huge box or boxes so we'll pay that postage.
Can you send cards to the Canadian Military?
Unfortunately, I only have connections for this project in the US. If anyone knows of a group that is doing cards for the Canadian or any other country's military, please feel free to post the links here. I will totally understand if you prefer to participate in those. It is not my intention to exclude anyone, but I only have US connections for this project.
Can I use clear envelopes?
Please only use regular envelopes so there isn't a postage issue for them when they want to send the cards back home.
If you have more questions, post them here. Keep on stamping!! Let's send an overwhelming size box!
Have a great day!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Thanks for posting all those Q&A's, Gina. It helps alot. We are planning to make a bunch.
I do have one more question I was wondering though.... Can we bring them to your store ourselves to give to you? We will be there on the 23rd.

Yes, that sounds good!

Yea! This is gonna be fun! Can I send you a bunch of cards and envelopes in one big envelope?
Reply to this
Yes, that would be fine. As long as they have an envelope inside and each card is in it's own envelope.

This was very helpful. I have always wanted to do something for our troops, and I am so delighted that you are helping many of us who do not have families in the military make this possible. Thanks so much! Will be making cards all week.

Hi Gina. Thx 4 all the info.
Another question--
Should we sign our work on the back, perhaps putting an e-mail addy? It would be fun to see where all these cards end up in the end.
Just curious what others are doing.
Cheers,
Stacy

I was wondering about signing our work, too, not necessarily an email address [privacy issue, ya know] but I'm used to stamping the back. I am so excited about this project that I've made OVER 50 so far! [retired, single, no social life-how pitiful-but plenty of time to stamp when grandkids aren't around] Gonna be a BIG box to mail!

Kathy and Stacy,
If you like to sign the back, I'm sure that would be fine. As far as emails are concerned, that would be at your own risk. Some people prefer to keep that private while others do not.

I understand that the cards need a plain envelope to get mailed back to family from the troops. My question is: Can the outside envelope that holds the card, the mailing envelope and the note be a clear envelope?
I guess what I need to know is: do both envelopes need to be mailing quality or is the outer envelope just to keep the note, card and the card's envelope together?
I'm planning on sending a bunch of cards, so if I can just use a plastic sleeve (with a glue flap) to keep the card, note and envelope together, I don't need to run out to the store for envelopes.
Thanks!
Anna

Here's what it will look like. You will print your little post it nore and tuck the note and extra envelope inside the card. Then, slip the card in an envelope. That card will be given to a soldier. Then, the solider will open the envelope and read the card. Then, he or she can use that card with the extra envelope to resend it. Make better sense?

I am so looking forward to this! I think this is just wonderful. I grew up in a military family (my father retired from the Marine Corps). My brother has been to Iraq twice and just got back from Afghanistan. As a military brat, I know this will mean so much to so many!
Quick question: Do you want a slip of paper with our information with each card?
Thanks!

We made 50 cards last night at our church. Will this project continue for a period of time or is there an ending date for card donations? Our group asked me about that information. We would like to schedule another date to make more cards. They were "new cardmakers".8->!

I am busy making cards for the worthy project. After we insert the card, greeting and extra envelope do we seal the envelope or leave flap open? Thanks.

I just read through the posts and unless I wasn't paying as much attention as I though. I didn't see a deadline for the cards. When would you like to have the cards to you by?

How do you get into the marker club .I wanted to join . Thank you Sarah

I just love that you arre doing this and hope to get a batch in before the cutoff date. My local card group had added and imaginary person and those cards are given to our local Air Force base. We end up donating over 100 cards just by doing 2 extra per month.

Stamping in a total white out snowstorm yielded over fifty cards for our troops. One set of tea bag in gift tag envelopes embellished on card background cardstock will be completed in a few days before the packet is mailed to GinaK! What a great reason to craft while tree limbs are bent to earth heavy with wet snow! We have electricity. Others are continuing to anticipate restored service. Keep Looking Up!

I guess I don't understand, for every card we send do we attach a note for the solider who gets the card? If I send say 15 cards do 15 different soliders get these, or does one solider get all the cards? I don't follow the need for the extra envelope.
