Preview Day 1

It seems that with each release, our artists get more brilliant! Rupa first sent me the concept and images for this set in the early summer but we agreed that it would be loved even more when the weather was crisp!

"My Cuppa' Joe" will make you feel like you just walked into Starbucks! And it's perfect for creating beautiful gifts for the holidays and way beyond.

Gifts don't always have to be expensive. With the right stamps, you can take a small bag of gourmet coffee beans and create a beautiful, thoughtful and very useful gift.

I purchased a few small brown handled bags at Hobby Lobby. They were 3 for $1.00. I also purchased a pack of 10 cello bags for $1.99.

Then, I headed to the grocery store and grabbed a bag of "Steep & Brew" coffee beans. For around $10.00, I had enough to create three beautiful coffee gifts for my neighbors. (You can always substitute ground gourmet coffee and you can include a small bag of homemade cookies. Who wouldn't love that?!)

This set is huge. It contains 21 images but today I am only showing you a sneak peek.

Project details:
Stamps: My Cuppa' Joe- To be released on Nov. 13th at 10:00 PM central
Paper: Wassill by Basic Grey, (Coming soon)
Card Stock: Stampin' Up Chocolate Chip, Pure Luxury 80 lb. white card stock
Ink: Memento Rich Cocoa
Other: Threading water punch, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Brads, Brown handled bags, cello bags, Coffee and fluff.

.  .  .  .  .

Gift cards are a great treat for so many occasions and a gift card to Starbucks is a favorite of mine.

I decided to create a gift card holder along with a step-by-step tutorial for you to recreate this project over and over again. I chose my colors to match the Starbucks gift card inside.

To begin, I cut a piece of card stock that measured 4 1/4 X 10 1/2.

Then, I scored it at 3", 4 1/4", 5 1/2" and 8 1/2".

Next, I folded it like this.

I used Scor-tape to tape just along the bottom edge where you see the brackets.

I took the piece of folded card stock and used my largest plain rectangle from my small rectangles Nestabilities to create an opening to slip my gift card inside.

Here is how the gift card slips inside.

I used an EK success corner rounder to round the outside 4 corners. I really love this corner rounder. It isn't too round and it's just perfect for these types of projects. This punch will be available with our new release on November 13th.

After I rounded the corners, I added some patterned paper to match the gift card both inside and out. This patterned paper is from one of our patterned paper packs called Imported Rhythm.

Here is the finished project after I added our Pure Luxury Ribbon from our Holiday Collection and the "You're cool beans" greeting.

.  .  .  .  .

I want to show you a quick sneak peek of two other sets that we will be releasing on November 13th. These stamp sets were given to our cruise participants and we also gave them all the pieces to create this card project.

Card details:
Stamps: Funky Christmas, Seasonal Sayings, (To be released Nov. 13th at 10:00 PM central)
Card stock: Pure Luxury 80lb white, Stampin' Up Night of Navy
Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye
Ink: Memento Black
Other: EK Success Flourish Punch, Brads, Koh-i-noor pencils, GKD OMS

This little reindeer is one of the many images in our newest holiday set called "Funky Christmas." The design team has done some fabulous things to showcase this set for you and I know that if you're like me, you haven't even started your Christmas cards yet!

But even if you've already made your cards, these funky and fresh images in this set will make adorable wrapping paper and gift tags too!  Don't you love the way the Flourish punch brings to mind a pair of reindeer antlers?

The greeting on this card is from our new set "Seasonal Sayings." This set has outside and inside greetings as well as three adorable bar codes greetings for the backs of your cards!

I colored my reindeer using Koh-i-noor pencils and GKD Odorless Mineral Spirits.
They blend so well on that white card stock, which brings me to the last part of my post.

.  .  .  .  .

I had been a Stampin' Up demonstrator in my last life and I am truly bananas over their products. (As most of you know, I rarely post anything that doesn't have something from Stampin' Up.) Yup. I keep my demonstrator quite busy. I have even created stamp sets that are made to work with some of Stampin' Up's exclusive punches.

One of my favorite Stampin' Up products is their card stock. It is the best. The weight, the colors, the texture. It's just beautiful. My favorite card stock has always been Stampin' Up's Whisper White. Why? The smoothness. It has been the only thing that works well colored pencils and OMS. It also just feels rich.

I don't care what kind of card stock you pick up, there has never been a card stock as smooth and luxurious as Stamp in' Up's whisper white.

But there is one problem with Whisper White. It's too light. The minute you hang a few embellishments from it, it  bends or leans. And, it's light weight makes it not very good for card bases.

I spent the better part of the last five years searching for a card stock that was the same smooth high quality as Stampin' Up, but in a heavier weight. It has not been available... until now.

Introducing

When you first touch this card stock, you won't believe it! I can't show you what you will feel but when you feel it, you will know that you are holding the very best white card stock on the market. The very BEST. You have to score this card stock. You can't just fold it. It will crack, it's that thick and smooth.

I gave a sample of this 120lb card stock to every one of our cruise participants and so many of them have been emailing me ever since asking when they can order it!

I had so much fun watching them try to separate the pieces of card stock, only to realize they were only holding one piece! I think a few of them were actually in shock. I know I was the first time I felt it.

This card stock has some other unbelievable attributes. Have you ever been able to make a single layer white card with Copics and not get bleed through? You can now.

Here's another exciting thing.

We were comparing our 80lb weight to Stampin' Up's 80lb weight. We got them mixed up and we could not figure out which was which. Even my demonstrator couldn't figure it out. Why is that good news? Well, if you are a demonstrator or purchase your 80lb from a demonstrator, then our 120lb will match perfectly! You can use Pure luxury for your card bases and die cuts and use your whisper white for your layers.

We decided to add both weights to our inventory because not everyone has a demonstrator and we wanted to give you a way to purchase 80lb card stock along with your other items to save on the high cost of shipping. (Remember, Gina K. Designs offers free shipping in the USA over $35.00 and a flat rate of only $5.95 for our Canadian friends over $35.00)

We've also come up with a pretty cool way to ship it to avoid bent corners, and each pack comes in a resealable bag so you can keep it clean and white.

The card stock will be packaged in packs of 25 sheets:
120lb- $6.95
80lb- 4.95

We are also offering our new Pure Luxury Envelopes.

These envelopes match our card stock, with one exception. They are not as smooth. We didn't want them to be as smooth. Every time I write on a envelope that is too smooth, I smear it. These don't smear or tear with embellishments as easily their smoother counterparts can. You will LOVE these envelopes.

They come in a pack of 25, stored in a clear box that you can embellish later, for only $5.25.

Our card stock and envelopes are truly one of our proudest accomplishments. You will love these for Copics, colored pencils, watercoloring and more.

I can not wait until you try it. You will be thrilled!

I hope you've enjoyed Day 1 of our previews.
We have lots to give away today!
