What to do when you don't know what to do.

Mojo. It's a weird thing. Somedays you have tons of it, and others... well you know. The most frustrating thing is when you really want to do something but you just aren't feeling it.

I have the perfect plan, and it's a neat way to "Go Green!"

Kleenex.

Look what they've done to Kleenex! About a year ago, I made a card using a piece of a Kleenex box and posted it here on my blog. Well, even if you aren't in the mood to make a card, you can still accomplish a lot with an everyday Kleenex box, cereal box, scraps of patterned paper, old gift bags or whatever else you've got lying around.

I now buy all of my Kleenex boxes by the patterns and colors I like, not by whether or not they match my rooms. LOL!

I am blown away by how beautiful these things have become. And now, with the holidays fast approaching, they have some new glittery and shiny ones too!

So, I decided that I would just make a bunch of embellishments that I can use later. It's something fun to do and you don't have to think. I grabbed my set of Sizzix snowflakes dies, a few cuttlebug tags and flowers and I cut up my Kleenex boxes.

It's hard to cut through chipboard this thick with these thinner dies but it worked just fine because it cut deeply enough that I could peel my embellishment off.

Then, I cut a few 5 1/2" strips and pieces to use later as patterned paper.

Well, once I saw all of my pretty embellishments, I felt inspired to make a card after all.

I decided to use my cuttlebug die and emboss some snowflakes on our 120lb Pure Luxury card stock. Look how deeply that thick card stock embossed!

Isn't that heavenly??

I used some of the other strips and pieces from the Kleenex box and here is the card I created.

Card details-
Card stock- Pure Luxury 120lb white, Stampin' Up Black and a Kleenex box.
Stamps- Funky Christmas, Seasonal Sayings
Other- Memento Ink, Copic Markers, Bling and Dazzle Mini Rhinestones, Cuttlebug, Sizzix Dies

So what do you have lying around the house that you can use? Take old gift bags and punch out different shapes, crinkle old tissue paper to create a textured background or die cut a piece of a cereal box and upholster it with patterned paper.

There's an endless amount of ideas, and you're "going green" at the same time!(Remember, I didn't have to throw that Kleenex box away!)

If you decide to try this idea, upload it on Splitcoaststampers or at Papercraft Planet and use the keyword "GKDGREEN" so we can all search later and see what we all came up with!

Make it a great day!
Hugs,
Gina K.

What a great idea. Nope, I never would have thought of that, and what a beautiful card you made from it. The snowflakes on the 120lb card stock are so crisp looking, like they have just come from freshly fallen snow. I can't wait to get my order and try that myself. Now I will be checking out the tissue boxes when I go shopping - because normally I just by the $1 boxes of puffs. Thank you for the inspiration!
