There are certain images that stir emotion in me.
I remember 13 years ago, when Alicia was born. I can vividly recall sitting beside her bassinet and watching her sleep. Her little tummy, going up and down had such a calming effect on me as a new mother. I couldn't believe how tiny she was. I never realized how tiny newborns really were until I had Alicia.
While she was sleeping, I would reach in and pick up her tiny hand. She would naturally curl her little fingers around mine. And I would just stare at that little hand, so small, yet so perfect. And I would marvel at this life, this child, this new journey ahead.
"Hand-in-hand" is the newest stamp set by Melanie Muenchinger.
I love the emotion that each of these beautifully illustrated images create. Whether it's the hand of a baby, child, friend or spouse, each of the stamps in this set will create a feeling of love, comfort, trust and compassion.
It was really hard for me to decide which stamp to preview. I didn't want you to think that this was only a baby stamp set because it's not. Every pair of hands in this set conveys a different relationship. But I chose to start with the baby because it seemed like the beginning.
I had fun coloring this image. I used two different Copic markers, pinkish white for the baby hand and skin white for the adult hand. I used the colorless blender to try to re-create the look of that ruddy newborn skin that so quickly fades to flawless silk.
I love the greetings. Many of them are interchangeable. This greeting seems so perfect for the baby, yet when you add it to other images in this set, it will work so well!
Just like the last couple of stamp sets, these stamps will work perfectly with many of the nestabilities tag style dies.
Card making is about relationships. Whether we are sending cards to those we love, or stamping with our closest friends, this hobby is about touching lives. When you see all the possibilities in this set, "Hand-in-hand" will touch you in a whole new way.

Oh my goodness, this is a wonderful image! I really can't wait to see the rest of this set, I know it will be a favorite of ine. I did the same thing with all three of my babies, it was so comforting to hold their hand when they were in the NICU and that was the only part of them I could touch.

Holy moly, that stamp set is perfect! My very young and unmarried sister just had a little boy, and I've been wanting to alter something and stick some handmade cards in it. This stamp set would be wonderful for cards for her!!

As soon as I saw the sample card I remembered the day my daughter was born; I remember holding her hands most of the night looking at all the little lines on her fingers trying to embed every single little line and curve in my brain. What a wonderful memory!!!

Gina this is a beautful set. I really can't wait to get it. I have a picture of my daughter when she first held my fathers hand, and to this day it is still my favorite picture of them. This set would work out so great with that picture. OHHHH look I am getting excited, can't wait to see the rest.

As soon as I came to your blog and saw that first image, I wanted to cry. I have three little ones and my oldest is three. It wasn't too long ago that they were wrapping their tiny hands around our fingers. They grow up so fast. I'm going to do my best to get this set. I checked out what the design team created and can't wait to see the full set. Simply amazing. Interesting...as I was typing this comment, my youngest (6m) woke up crying. I had to put my finger in his little hand and he just held it. I know it won't be long before his hands are larger than mine. Wow...I've never written this much in a comment. Must have touched my heart for sure! Thanks for all you do.

How toouching. I am a great grandmother with six grown children and this stamp brings back so-o-o many wonderful memories. I would love to have to make each one of my grandghildren and great grandchildren cards with that on it. It is such a blessing and you can almost feel the little hand.

Oh I would just die if I could win this set! A couple of years ago when my father was dieing. I took pictures of his hand holding his newly born great grandson. Holding my hand, my mothers and a lot of other pictures similar - all with his hands in ours or the other way around. This set is just like what I had pictured!!!! I even took one of all the generations of hands ( as well as another one of all of us together ). I have not been able to scrapbook them yet as I still cry to look at them or think if my precious Father. I would use this set over and over again. For so many different cards. this set stirs such emotions with me. i recently had two daughters get married(yes in one year ~ 3 mos apart!!) and now one of them is expecting her 1st child. i remember her hands so tiny, her sweet little fingers, and suddenly she is about to embark on that wonderful journey and experience. this is a perfect set. from birth to old age. looking forward to using it. thanks for the wonderful creation!

OH this is the sweetiest stamp I have seen in a LONG Time and as I read your words about your DD I thought of how I just did that w/my DD she is going to turn 2 on 1/3 and I still am amazed. I get up and do the same for my boys and I can't help to just smile and think of how I have been blessed to have the honor of being their mother. Everyday I am in awe of how they were so tiny and how they have bloomed

OH..so stunning; this has brought back many emotions, as an OR nurse, working on new borns, their tiny hands bundled with IV, tape & gauze, but their fingers always wanted to curl around yours! I was never fortunate enough to personally experience the warmth of *my own set of tiny hands*, but the OR experience'll never leave me.Congrats! on another beautiful released set.

This definitely does stir emotion in me. I have a 2 and 3 year old and have really been wanting another baby and this image definitely brings that emotion out in me. I can already tell this is going to be one of thos touching sets. Awesome Melanie!!

Oh Gina, what a sweet card. I completely agree about watching our babies sleep. as a grandmother, and witnessing the birth of 2 of my grandchildren, it is all the sweeter expirence. what a treasure we have with these dear sweet ones.

As I looked at all the DT's peaks; I was over whelmed. Memories surfaced of my husband, my children, and all my friends and family. My husband wrote a poem for me on our 7th anniversary call Hand N Hand. We didn't have much money then, but that poem still has a very special place in our home and is the most loved of all my gifts from him. Thank you Melanie for bringing out even the smallest of memories.

Oh Boy, I felt my heart beat a little differently and my eyes well-up as I read what you said and looked at the precious little hands.
The good Lord didn't bless me with children of my own-----but my step-daughter gave me 3 wonderful grandchildren. One who will soon be 23 and twins who are 20.
I can still remember holding them and thinking ----what perfect proof that God still finds good in the world.
You are so right---their little hands and also little feet just amaze me.

what a lovely card - we babysit our two grandsons - one is 2 yrs the other is 2 l/2months - when i feed the youngest he holds my pinkie while he eats - wouldn't this be a lovely set to make cards for new parents - i know that there are some birth organizations that could use these cards for their clients.

Hi Gina. YES.....i would love to win this one. I have a photo of just this image. Me and my DD. I was taking a photography class when she was tiny ( a premie too) and one day she wrapped her little hand around my finger, WHILE I had the camera and my B&W film in the other hand! Snap, snap, snap. Hours in the darkroom later, it is on my wall and one of my favorite photos ever.

So precious. My niece just had her first child at age 31...a darling little girl born by emergency C-section. The new mother told her sisters about holding the baby's hand and foot and wondering at it all. My husband whispered in her ear, "Now you know what love really is."

This is sooo precious! I worke for almost 10 years in the Neonatal nursery with many tiny preemies and as small as they were they all could/would grip your finr if you put it in their hand. I love this set. SharriC

What a terrific set! I so remember doing the same with my little girl! Such a teeny little hand she had - especially tiny since she was a preemie. What a beautiful card! I love that little hand...the years go by so fast. I have 3 kids: 12, 9 and 8 months and I so enjoy them. I remember like yesterday when my own 12 year old was in the hospital bassinet and marveling at how small her hand was, yet it was perfect. Just beautiful set, Melanie has outdone herself!

Very neat preview! I can not wait to see the rest of the set. I drew a picture similiar to this a few year's ago in pencil with a mom holding baby's hand. There is no greater feeling as a new mom then watching this new miracle and feeling them wrap their little fingers around your's!

The butterfly cards are beautiful. I loved making the butterfly card on our cruise. It is cold here in TX now but, Im sure nothing like where you are. But we have memories of our cruise to keep us warm. Sorry to hear about your Dad. I hope that he continues to improve from the ordeal last night...
