Today's challenge is all about sewing. Have you tried to sew on your cards? If you haven't, it's easy, fun and it looks great!

You may have noticed on my sidebar to the left, under tutorials, I have a series of tutorials on how to use the Janome sew-mini sewing machine with everything from threading the machine to setting the tension to stitching the day away!

Well today, I'm giving away a Janome sew-mini sewing machine as a blog candy prize! More about that in a minute.

Today's challenge is called "Sew-long 2008!"
All you have to do is add some sewing on your card. It doesn't have to be machine stitched. It can be hand stitched, something as simple as a button or you can quilt an entire card. You just need to add some thread!

Upload your card at splitcoaststampers and use keyword GINAKDEC31 so we can all see each other's creations!

For my card, I decided to "quilt" a panel as my focal image.

I used a patterned paper pack from K & Company and used a Marvy super jumbo square punch to punch a few pink and green squares. Then, I cut the squares on a diagonal and stitched them together onto a piece of pure luxury 80 lb. white card stock.

I hand-stitched a basic grey button  onto the center. Maybe you didn't know it but if you have our paper piercer, unscrew the cap and you'll find a pack of needles hiding inside that are perfect for hand-stitching. I used mine to sew on all of my buttons.

I used a greeting from the stamp set "Many Happy Returns" that adds a cute "thank you" to any card with a sewing theme.

Win a brand new Janome Sew-Mini!
All of my zig-zag sewing was done on the Janome Sew-mini. I love this little machine. I used it to fix a pair of pants a couple of weeks ago and I use it to sew on my cards all the time. It's light and easy and it creates a beautiful stitch.

All you have to do is leave a comment here and I will randomly choose a winner for a Janome sew-mini sewing machine and announce the winner here on my blog on New Year's Day! I will also have a fabulous New Year's Day blog candy giveaway that you won't want to miss!

To see who won yesterday's Scor-pal giveaway, click here- Scor-pal winner
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year's eve. Please stay safe and I will see you back here tomorrow- 2009 for more challenge and blog candy fun!!

Hugs,
Gina K.

It is one of the "iron"ies in life! Maybe this little sewing machine will help??? debb
