There is something so cleansing about the new year! It's a chance to start fresh. New dreams, new goals, get organized...I love it!
Today's challenge is about moving forward into the new year. It's called "New Year's Inspiration." All you have to do is make a motivational or inspirational card that reminds you to look forward.
For my challenge sample card, I used Asela Hopkin's set, "Botanical Dreams."
This is one of my favorite images to color with Copic markers. I used Basic Grey Eva paper with some SU basic black to make the pink pop.
My inside greeting is my motivational/inspirational part of the challenge. This greeting is from the same stamp set.
In case you can't read it, it says- "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." What a great motivational thought as we move into 2009!
Upload your challenge cards to splitcoaststampers using the keyword GINAKJAN1 so your card will be easy to find and we can all inspire each other!

I would love to win the copic markers, I am a fellow card maker and trying to collect some of the great items out there. At the time I'm using bic and sharpie markers. But the only fault they have is they don't blend and they don't have a lot of colors copics do. I appreciate the chance and hope I can win. I can't wait til the next visit to your store you are such a great person.

I keep hearing about these markers but have yet to get a chance to try them. They are not sold around here and I want to try them before I invest in them. I'm hoping to try them at the next convention I go to. I have not heard anything bad about them except the cost.

What a beautifully colored card. And I love the way you carried the theme and coloring to the inside as well. I keep looking at copics but have not been able to make the leap with them yet, so I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to come home to these.

This is a really good idea. Who could not use some inspiration for the new year. We had a rough 2008, and we are hoping 2009 is much better. At least we have our health and a roof over our heads. I've actually looking at the Copic markers for a long time but I don't know anyone who uses them. I have a set of colored pencils now but I'd really enjoy taking my stamps to a new level. I absolutely love the way that the card in this post and so many other cards using Copic markers come out and I will one day afford my own set. Thanks for all of the inspiration!

Would you believe that your creativity and inspiration stretches all the way to South Africa? I live for your blog postings and those of the other creative ladies out there. I agree with you Gina - a new year offers such a good way for fresh starts. How about a fresh start on one of my 2008 stamping resolutions? lol Stamp, fill in names and stamp ahead of time greeting cards for family and friends. Oh man there is something about purple,lavander,orchid, and those spft shades of green that just make you think of spring and the colors give me a good feeling.

LOVE,LOVE, LOVE the card. I have really been putting a lot of thought into my goals for 2009. I am new stamper (actually made 40 assorted cards that I gave in sets as gifts this year) and I am hooked. Just bought a new stamp yesterday that would be perfect for the looking forward theme, but have no time tonight to enter the challenge (FOOEY!) Anywho, I don't own any copics yet but have been wanting them for months. Santa didn't get the hint this year and they aren't cheap you know

OH...OH...OH!! The card is absolutely gorgeous and how I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE TO WIN A BOX of Copic Markers!! I have a small handful of them and would love to have more colors to work with. I want to attempt coloring just like you do it! Thanks Gina

Love the shapablilites.....something all new to me. Also want to check out the dp with adhesive backing. You card is elagant as usual. You are a true artist with your stamps. Hope someday I can be half as good.
