I need your opinions regarding the Copic marker club.
We have had hundreds of Copic club members so far with tons of requests for more. It's been a wonderful and easy way for many of you to grow your Copic collection. Up until now, we have been offering Ciao style markers for you to collect. See below.
Ciao Markers (Chisel end and brush tip- limited to 144 colors.)
But here is the question. Along with Copic Ciao markers, would you like us to offer both Sketch clubs and Original Clubs?
Sketch Markers (chisel end and brush tip like Ciao, many more colors.)
Original Markers (chisel end and small nib end, perfect for coloring small images.)
This type of information is important to gather up front as we want to be able to offer you everything you want in Copic markers.
I'll even give away a box of Copics in exchange for your opinion! We really want to know what you want even if your answers are no, I'm not interested or I already have them all.
Leave your opinion here and I will announce the winner on Wednesday morning. And, don't forget to enter our grand prize 2009 giveaway. Click here for that contest. It closes at 8:00 PM tonight. ![]()
Have a great day and thank you for your help on this!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Well, to tell you the truth Gina, I have never ever had my hands on a copic marker so I can't give you an accurate opinion, but right now I would have to say that I wouldn't be interested. I seem to do just fine with the SU markers. Maybe if I had the copics I would say something different. I do love what you have done with them (and many others as well).
Thanks.

(this message is for Cheryl - and others - and not to be counted as a 2nd chance to win the copics)
Cheryl and those of you who have not tried the copics: I have used many different types of markers(including a few SU markers) but the copics are unlike any other marker I've ever tried! I'm blown away with these beauties! If you get a chance to try a couple of markers then you may see why I am so enthusiastic about them. No, I don't sell them and I have to purchase them at the same price all of you do, so I'm not trying to sell you anything. LOL! The best thing I like about the copics (so far) is the shading and blending.
Anyway, hope I'm not stepping on any toes here. I'm fairly new to the copics and am hooked! My dd doesn't think it's fair that I won't let her use them. LOL
((hugs))!

I don't feel I am in a position to tell you my opinion which Copics you should order or get for the customers because I haven't bought any for myself and don't know which one I would want to prefer. I will defer to others who have Copics and know what they are talking about. In fact, I do not own a set of markers (unless you count the kids' markers set that my daughter has *smile) Someday, I hope to own at least a set of markers - would be great if it was the Copics!
Thanks for a chance to win the blog candy, Gina.

I bought 3 of the Copic Sketch markers just to try them- I like them, but don't use them much since I only have red, blue, and green. Maybe if I had more colors to work with I'd use them more. I love the look of your cards! To answer your question, I would prefer the greater color choices, but I'm not sure I want to spend that much money, at least right now!

I would just like to start collecting Copic and be able to color beautifully. I am not sure which is which with their styles as I have never seen any except on the internet. I am trusting everyone else to lead me in the right direction.

I think since you have the club for the Ciao markers and it's doing so well you could do a trial run with the other types of Copics and see how it does. There may be a lot of people who want to add the Sketch and Original Copics to their collections as well.
Just my opinion.

I love the copic markers in the club that I have been getting and probably wouldn't need any of the others! Thanks for all you do to help out us "ppor" copic collectors out there!

Gina I have over 150 of the sketch markers and love them, they also fit into the air compressor system that Carpe Diem sells and you need the #3 adapter hose kit for it. I love them, many more colors but in all honesty I probably will not try and get all 344 of them, you can mix them by using the tips etc anyway. I did try a few of the originals and did NOT like that fine tip, it was like using a fine tip pen to color and scratched the paper up too much? Just my opinion.

I would be interested if you sold the sketch markers. These are the ones I have been collecting.

If I were in the market for Copics, I would perfer the Ciao markers.

Hi Gina, what a great question (and give-away!) I like the cio copics but I have purchased a few sketch markers and I think I like them better. I know they are more expensive but eventually I may want to try out the air brush system and as I understand it, the cios are not compatible with that system? Is that right? So I just might be interested in a sketch marker club.
Thanks!

Hi Gina,
I love the sketch copics, but do have a few caio. I buy them individually from Hobby Lobby when they are on sell. Unfortunatelly, that means I can't do a copic club because I'll get duplicates.
thanks!

Maybe it is a matter of preference, but I like the sketch ones better. I have mostly sketch and one ciao, and I just like the feel of the sketch ones better in my hand. I have only collected a few so far, but hope to get more throughout the year.

I have tried all 3 and I much prefer the sketch. Although if someone doesn't like the nib on any pen you can change them.

I have two sets of the Ciao markers now and I love them! (And I've done one marker club in the past.) Here would be my question - do the colors duplicate in the Sketch and Original markers versus the Ciao? You commented that there are more colors to choose from, but I wouldn't necessarily need/want to duplicate colors. Okay, maybe "need" being the operative word!! Of course in my fantasy world I would want to own every single marker!!
Reply to this
I don't have any markers, they just seem to be so expensive! I like the idea of all the colors in the SKETCH markers and of course the club idea to buy them over time would definitely appeal.....

I have used the Copics, and love them! I only own one of my own though. I don't know which kind are better. I don't have the funds right now to purchase any, but if I ever do I'll read up on them to see which ones people prefer.

Personally I've been buying the sketch markers one at a time. I prefer the sketch ones because they are refillable. I'd love it if you also started carrying the refills!

Hi Gina,
I purchased the regular copic markers along time ago in a 12 pack and then went back to the art store and got some of the sketch markers. I love them, actually prefer them over the originial. I chose them for the size and comfort along with the variaty of colors. I could also purchase them individually in the art store. I am very slowly adding to my collection and the more I learn about them and play with them the more I want to purchase.

Hello Gina! I am probably the only one in the country who doesn't have these markers... What I know about them is that everybody loves them. I know that you need to learn how to use them. They have numbers and you need to know what they mean.
Of course I would like to know how to start working with them, which set should be the first and etc...

I've bought some sketch markers and I love them. I also have one Ciao marker and love it (although that may be due to the color). I'd be interested it - especially aren't Ciao the less expensive marker?

I can't honestly give you an opinion either as I have used them in class but not sure which ones they were but probably the orginal ones. But like everything else when the company brings out new ones, they are always better. Have a good one. Hugs n' Stuff, Lynne

I would like to see you sell the individual sketch markers as I already had 72 when your club started. I did not get to join as I already had part of the colors in each group.

I have some of the Sketch markers and I really like them because they don't roll away. I think offering all of them would be a terrific idea.

I only have 5 of the Ciao markers. Love the brush end to color large areas. I will need to try out the other styles to see how they compare. At this point I prefer to purchase individually.

I think it would be great if you could offer a choice of copic clubs!!

Although I don't have any Copics myself, I would most likely buy the Ciaos, simply because I don't see a need for 344 colors! It would be too tempting to buy them all even if I didn't use them.

If I had the choice, I might have selected the original markers. Just because some of the images I would like to color, are smaller and I don't have the control with the brush tip. However, I do LOVE my copics!

I just recently bought the Copic Ciao markers (all 4 sets) and absolutely love them. I am just learning how to shade but I would be interested in the sketch because of the number of colors that are available. I plan o purchase those in the future and would love it if you were selling them. The Copic Ciao's were the first items I purchased from your website and the reason I ended up buying all 4 sets at one time was their wonderful price, the free shipping and the free stamp sets. Those factors all contributed to making it worth spending almost $400 dollars. I have been in my craft room everyday since the day they arrived trying out new things with the markers.I am more interested in the sketch than the original's because of the number of color options the Copic sketch markers offer. Have a wonderful day. I'll send you a picture of my first project with the markers and your stamp set.I think it turned out really cute.

I fell in love with the Copic's when we came down for the splitcoast gals get together. I bought a set of Ciao's that day and have bought the remaining sets since! I am interested in filling in the rest of my collections to get the remaining color's with the originals and sketch yet. If you have had success with the Ciao's club maybe expanding it in this manner would be a good idea?!

I would be 100% interested in a Sketch club. I love the sketch markers and would think that if you are going to make up new clubs I would do both a Ciao and a Sketch club. I don't think an "orginal" club would be necessary.

I don't know if I would be able to afford the marker club, but my preference is the sketch copics because there are more colors and they can be used in the airbrush system. I have about 50 so far, but haven't used them a lot because I need more colors to blend with. I hope to at some point get an airbrush system.

I only have one sketch Copic marker (CO1)...so I have nothing to compare them to as far as style. I know I like them and would love to purchase some Copics at some point. I really like the sketch marker I do have, but would probably just order the Ciao markers that you already carry. I have limited funds and that would fit my needs at this time. I understand those wanting to add to their color collection, but for me it is not a factor. I just want a set of regular Ciao's :o))) Hope that helps...

I cannot give any opinion, as I have not yet been able to use any Copics. I would love to, but I do not have anywhere local to purchase them and have not joined the club yet.
Maybe you could offer them in singles as a buy so many get one free thing?? This might help those who can't afford a whole box or be in a club could start a collection.

I personally think the more options the better....it is great to have additional options for those who already have the 144 colors. i would be most interested in the originals.

I have about 30 or so of the sketch and I LOVE them! I have all of the SU markers and they're great, but they have their limitations...you can't replace the nibs when they get smooshed and you can't refill them and SU doesn't make the In Color markers, so I have to use the Copics.
I've never tried the Ciao or the originals so I can't comment on those, but I would love to be in the Sketch club. Thanks for the generous offer to win the blog candy!

Yes, would love to see sketch marker option.

The original markers sound interesting. I actually prefer Prismacolor markers because of the nib end. I use that for most of my coloring. The downside to PC markers is limited color selection. Depending on the price, I may be interested in a club for originals. Especially if I had a better color selection.

I have both the Ciao and the Sketch. I started out buying the sets of Ciao and then filling in missing areas with the Sketch and I love them both. More colours??? Who would say no to that???
Reply to this
Great question Gina! lol I have mostly Copic Ciao, and I do love them, BUT, I find the Copic Originals nicer to do small tiny spaces when colouring. The Ciaos are perfect for doing larger spaces. I know it's probably not the answer you are looking for, but that is how I use mine! I have bought all the skin tones and greys so far in the Original, because those are used mostly in smaller spaces. Hope this helps a bit?

Hi Gina.
I don't have any Copics because we don't find them around here and secondly I can't afford them for now. But I can tell you: because I'm hooked on coloring there are never enough colors. So I would say YES for the Sketch markers. If there is the same amount of colors for the original markers I would prefer those ones because of the small nib end. I'm always looking for small nib end even for writing pencils. So for me it would be yes again.
I hope my opinion will help you! Thanks a lot for your generous giveaway prize.

I love the way you offer them in clubs. They seem much more affordable that way. I fairly ignornant about the different uses for the different marker types, so THAT information would be helpful to me--how about one of your WONDERFUL tutorials describing the differences?
Reply to this
I would love to have the opportunity to get more colors however I would still have to limit myself to one club because of finances. Maybe you could offer a club in the orginal or sketch of the colors not available in Ciao. Not sure it is feasible, but just a thought!

Hi Gina!
So far I have resisted buying any markers for now but I have been tempted many times to give in and splurge on some. I've been using Jody Morrow's Drunken Watercolor Technique with my SU markers to try and replicate the look a bit more. I have tried both the ciao and sketch and prefer the sketch. If you were offering a sketch marker club I would be interested in purchasing them that way. I'm trying to find a way to start with markers that would match SU colors. I know Ellen Hutson's web store has packages just for this purpose and I'm always sighing them when I'm at her website.

I haven't been part of the club purchase, but I have purchased my Ciao sets (3 sets now) through various vendors. Always looking for the best deal. I do have the SU! markers, but use them rarely now that I have my Ciao markers...they blend so much better. I like the fact that you don't see the lined streaks as you fill in large areas. Having both Ciao and Sketch clubs is probably better as you will catch the markets of either preference. Hey, it's a club, right? Options are a good thing. Are there more colors with the Sketch than the Ciao? If so, I was blind to that fact....gotta love more colors as an option, too. Would love to win the last set of Ciao markers to complete my set of 144. Thanks for the chance to win....Happy New Year!

Although I can't afford even the cheapest style (I'd love some of these) I would think the more choices the better! As long as your describe the differences so people can make informed choices and not be confused/stressed about choosing.

I'm one of those people who has never used Copics, but I would love to try them someday. I would be most interested in a set of sketch markers that came in colors you, Gina, thought would be most useful. I know that's hard to do, but you do make great cards, so I'd trust your choices! One of the problems I have read about with Copics is that the prepackaged sets are too limiting in colors for a person who is just beginning to collect Copics. That is one of the appealing things about Ciaos; you only have to collect 4 sets to have a great color range, so it is a more ecomonical option in some ways. As soon as I find a store that sells Copics individually I'll try a couple out to see if I like them as much as everyone else seems to. Thank you Gina for everything you do.

I like the Ciao markers personally. I think you are so sweet to ask your customers what they want!!!

I am currently in month 5 of your CIOS club getting box C and I love them. I buy the sketch and original at my local Dick Blick Art Store and the price is the same for either style plus as a Certified Copic Designer I got a 10% discount card from them.
I would love to see a Sketch club as I use my airbrush system a lot and haven't quite figured out how to make the CIOS work in the trigger yet
It would all depend on how much additional charge there would be for the Sketch and Original.
I currently have 100 markers so I may stick with just filling in with colors as I need them. I usually buy 5-6 new ones when I get paid.
Right now I am trying to build up my inventory of Various Inks but having problems finding a good source with a variety in stock at a reasonable price. Not available locally.
I think that the average person is still going to want to go with the lowest price because, do you really NEED 322 colors LOL.
As far as I know you are the only company offering a Copic Club, which is great for many of us who can't afford to buy the sets any other way. I want to thank you for enabling my addiction.

I love my Copics and have been buying them a few at a time. I started buying the Ciao because they were cheaper, but I switched and started buying the Sketch because they can be used with an airbrush, and they hold a little more ink. And of course, they come in more colors. Also, when you store them you can see the color number right on the end of the cap. Makes it a little easier to see what I'm going for.

Hi Gina,
I personally would like to complete my collection of Ciao markers before I start collecting the sketch markers. I don't think I really would want the origainals ever.
When I do start getting Sketch markers, I would want to know if they came in the same colors as the Ciao's or not, because I would not want to repeat the same colors, I would only want the sketch colors that didn't come in Ciao.
Clear as mud?? Thanks for asking our opinion... you are awesome! I am crossing my fingers to be the lucky winner!!

I have been slow to the COPIC markers game, but purchased only a couple of the sketch ones and love them. I have used SU markers for 5 years and have been pleased with them, but I LOVE the fact that the COPICS blend, no dark unsightly "splotches"! I like the feel of the sketches and the familiar "non-sketch" end and did you say MORE colours...well. I guess I would vote for the sketch COPICS. Thanks for asking the question and the opportunity to win a prize Gina.

I am so very new to the Copic world that I wouldn't know much of the difference between the two -- I just bought the Ciao set and haven't even had a chance to open it yet. Thanks to your x-mas sale!

From what I have read online at other blogs and such a lot of people prefer the sketch. I am leaning towards the Ciao.

I have the Ciao markers and would be interested in getting some of the Original -- for the smaller tip/point for reaching smaller spaces. Copics Mania is spreading - I imagine all (3) types of markers would be a good seller, as we all have different preferences and uses for these wonderful markers. I went with the Ciao because they were more cost-effective for me. Having the number/info on the cap is nice but i don't find it necessary. Plus the Ciao line "only" has 144 colors whereas the Sketch has more than twice that many! I would compare the Sketch and Original collections if I were you and see if you can carry one or both. The Sketch seems to be the most preferred and sought after; they're hard to keep in stock! But all are refillable and have replacement nibs, making any of the markers a wise investment over time. I'm sure your club(s) will be full of enrollments, as there are a lot of Copic Junkies out there.

I'm currently using Prismacolor markers because they were the cheaper alternative and without any experience using that type of marker I just couldn't justify the added expense of the Copics. Now that I've been using them for quite some time I'm thinking of upgrading to Copics and would be interested in the Copic Sketch. I know 144 colors is alot, but I've gotta think that the added colors in the Sketch line will only allow for better and more accurate shading ability.

My opinion is that in all honesty I have no opinion. I decided that while Copics appear to be the "Cadillacs" in markers, I can't justify investing in them due to the cost. I continue to drool over the amazing results that I see posted in the blogs and galleries but so far I have resisted the temptation to purchase.

Gina, I may not be much help since I don't have any Copics, only the prismacolor markers, but I love the idea of having more colors to use. So, if I do ever buy Copics, it would be the Sketch ones.

I prefer the original as I feel I can do a lot more with them, with the fine tip. The CIAP were originally made to use with children and won't hold as much ink. You can't surpass the quiality of any of these, of course. Thanks Jackie

I have not been able to get any Copics, but hope to be able to some day. I so love what people create with them. I really don't know about all of the color choices and the differences. I guess I need to find someone with all of them to try them out to see what's best for me.

I like the sketch markers, but will they be affordable in sets? I would like for someone to put together smaller more usable sets of Copic markers. For example, a set of 3 or 4 green markers that will blend well together and meet all my needs for green markers, and then do something similar with other color families. I can't afford to collect the big sets of markers and I don't know what to collect with individual markers.

I am retired on a fixed income but I know someday I will get some I would like the sketch because they have more colors.
If you start another club please contact me and give me a chance to get some copics.
thanks for the chance to get some candy.

I am just starting my collection and I feel like it is going to be a horrible addiction, I am so in love with these! I only have 12 so far and they are all sketch and that is what I will be wanting to stick with. I like that they don't roll away, and I believe they hold a tad bit more ink than the others, not to mention that they have more colors, we all need more colors, lol! So I am saying I would be interested in a sketch club.
Reply to this
I have Ciao and Sketch markers and I prefer the Sketch by far. I like their shape, the numbering on the caps, and that they hold more ink. I realize that price point may be an issue for some, but smaller coordinating sets might be the ticket. As far as the Originals, I haven't heard anyone talk about them on their blogs, and I'm not sure they would be as popular as the Sketch markers, or as good a business investment for you sales wise as adding the Sketch line.

I already have some copic sketch markers but would like to get some more. I do prefer the sketch as they can be used for Airbrushing.

I'm not a member of that club now, but I figure the more the merrier. Everyone likes a chance to increase their items at a savings. Once I get another job I hope to buy these markers.

I have the Ciao markers (some) but I think the ones that have the smaller end for coloring small images would be good. I do appreciate all the info. and opportunities you give us.

Even though I love seeing what you and other designers do with the Copic markers, I don't have any of my own and right now I'm not looking at buying any because of the price. Thanks for asking for our opinion!

Well...I would love them all!!!! I am just about done collecting the second box of CIAOs...at this rate it would take me years to get them all! But, my daughter uses them as well, and I am thinking the original ones are worth buying since they are good for coloring small images...so I would say...yes you should offer them! (oh, and thanks for the chance to win!)

Since I don't have any Copics I read through everyone's answers and it seems like people definitely would like a Sketch club because of being able to use the airbrush system and being refillable and more colors.

I think your Copic Club is a neat idea. Wish I had known about it before I started buying the markers singly. I think you should offer the other sets, too.
Reply to this
I have used both kinds only once, and I think both are fantastic, so why not do a copic marker for both since so many people are interested. Could you maybe do a marker club that was a little less money per month? I can't do the $25 a month, but could do less. What do you think?

Thanks for asking the opinions of your readers. I have not been able to purchase these due to the cost. I live in a rural area and have not had a chance to even test/try them out. Since I can't give you an opinion, I sure hope to win the prize. Darlene

I've purchased one or two of the Sketch copics from time to time, adding to my collection (which is fewer than 20). I would prefer this kind of Copic marker since I store them on their sides & can easily see at a glance which number I need. I use them every time I color a stamped image.

Copics are a topic I've actually been thinking about lately. I own only a few and they're all sketch. Although they color beautifully I find it really difficult for small images which is mostly what I have. I've been considering purchasing a few ciao to try them out and compare. Most stamps have such small areas that I can see giving up purchasing anymore sketch.

oh please don't tease me.... are you really giving us a chance to win this awesome giveaway... wow. I have asked Santa for Copics, but unfortunately Santa did not bring it to me this year. Anyway, back to the question at hand. I have never played with either, but I think it can't hurt to have both choices.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to win this AWESOME blog candy.

Gina... I've never played with Copic markers, only SU Markers... And due to the price of Copics I will probably never play with them... So, my opinion isn't going to help you any now is it??? :O) Nancy P...

I've just started purchasing Copics. I have a few of the Original style, but I'm buying the Sketch markers. I love the brush marker nib rather than the flat broad one. I think they are easier to get into smaller areas. So far I've gotten the SU colors, but I'm adding more to my collection all the time.

I think it would be a great option - however, I have mainly Ciaos and a few sketch ones. Sketch ones are more expensive, but I think a club would be a great way for people to start collecting these. Happy New Year!!!

I wish you would add another group or more of us to the Copic marker club. I'm interested in both Ciao and sketch. I love the sketch and love that they have more colors to offer. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.

I like the original markers because I have finally found a way to store them that will only work with these markers. (My husband gave me the cases that his gun bullets come in...they are wonderful!)
Eventually I will get some of the other markers mainly for the larger selection of colors. So...I'll be happy with whatever you decide!

I am interested in the Ciao because the are not as expensive as the others , I think it would be good to carry at least the Sketch ones since they can be used for airbrushing . I ordered the Ciao set of 72 from another vender and am still waiting to get them. Right now I just have the sample I got at the Copic certification class and I love both the Sketch and the Ciao.

I would have loved to have seen the Sketch markers in a club format, however for me now, it would be pointless to join a marker club, as I have quite a few of the Sketch markers. I would love to be able to purchase a few choice colours though. I have been having trouble finding a couple of colours that I really want.

Unfortunately, I have SU markers and I have never bought copics. They seem really expensive. Now that being said I am sure if I used the copics with a little guidance, I would be on board.

I do not own any of the copic markers YET as I have not had a chance to use them. I am so glad that you posted this question becuase it allowed me to read through the posts and come to the conclusion that I NEED these markers. LOL From what I have read in the above comments, I would be interested in starting my collection with the sketch version as there is more colors and it sounds like I would prefer the ends to color with. I would be VERY interested in joining a club to get my collection going. thanks!!

I don't really have any opinions on the copics because I don't own any, and although I love what they can do, I don't see them in my near future. I have other colouring mediums, and I can't afford to add copics to my stash.

I would offer both the Ciao and Sketch but only if it's feasable to you. They are very expensive and I know they can be hard to find. I do not own any yet and when asking people what they prefer, it's been a mix.

I have been collecting sketch markers, and have received a couple of the ciao's as gifts. I'd have to say that I really prefer the sketch markers. I like that there are more colors (not that I will ever collect them all), they can be used with the airbrush system, and that the caps have the numbers on them.
I, too, would be worried to join a club though, for fear of duplicates.
Thanks Gina, as always for your generosity!

I don't own any copic markers...so I can't give an opinion. I think for most people starting out, we want something that is easy to use and easiest to learn with. Not all of us have great coloring skills. We have to start somewhere.
Sometimes there is so much product out there that the choices get overwhelming. We rely on the word of others but then that can vary greatly also. Sometimes it is just a matter of trying something ourselves and seeing if we made the right choice.
Thanks for a chance to win.

I personally collect the CIAOs, but know that many prefer sketch. I think I may expand to those once I run out of ciao colors. So, yes, I think you should expand the club to sketch. I'm not sure how many use originals, so I'd go slower there.

I have about 50 or so sketch copics and love them. I love the idea of the copic club to purchase them several at a time on a regular basic but did not sign up for your original club because I wanted the sketch type because I eventually want to get the air brush system. Not sure if I would join a sketch club now if offered since I already own several colors and don't really want duplicates. If there was a way to ensure no duplicates or if you just offered them for sale in online store I would definately be interested. Thanks for asking our opinion and the chance to win.

Gina! I have a bunch of Ciao markers. I like them fine, but am a little disappointed that they won't work with the air brush system. I have collected a few sketch markers as well. I think it would be nice to have the option between the Sketch and the Ciao. The Ciao are a little cheaper for those who would like to try them out. As far as the Original Copic, I don't really see the point since the Sketch pretty much covers it. Hope that helps!

Gina I have heard so many different opinions on the tips of the different Copics. Do you think you could compare the brush tips of the three and give your opinion of them. I would be interested in seeing which tip was easiest to color with in those tiny places. That is where I am having trouble with. I have a few of the Ciao markers and find that I can't stay in the lines with these markers. Is there a better tip for doing small spaces. Any information would be most helpful in making a decision on which ones I want to start collecting.
Thanks much

Gina, I was so hoping that you might offer a Sketch club! I have only Sketch markers and LOVE them. But the fact that the Originals have an even smaller nib makes them quite noteworthy! I currently only own SU markers, however, I recently tried the Copics at the One of a Kind Scrapbooking Event in Madison and now I want them! All the different styles sound fine, but I probably wouldn't use the fine tip. My understanding is that Copics are alcohol based, unlike SU markers. I would love some info on getting in on the Copic Club option

hi,
Sorry for my previous msg being so curt. Some of the keys on my keyboard weren't working. Got that fixed.
I don't have copics, only ordinary markers but from your description of what markers are good for what, I would want the origial ones since its always useful to have markers that can color the more detailed images. I suppose they can also be used to add more "detail" to an image/card. Hope this helps.
I haven't won any of the blog candy yet,but I'm still trying! Thanks Gina

I think it's a fabulous idea to offer the choice. (I already think it's terrific that you've set things up as a marker club).
You will have those who are dying to try the markers, but can't justify the expense (esp. with the economy the way it is) and will want to start the cost-efficient way with the Ciao. Then, you'll have those who need to have every colour under the sun and will want the Sketch. THEN, you'll find those who have a nib preference.
I think you'll find you already have an eager market for all 3 choices...

I like the sketch better only because they won't roll away. I've only used copics at a couple of make and takes and those were sketch so I'm not familiar with the ciaos (sp?) I wish I had a couple to play with at home - they look like lots of fun.

Gina, I would be interested in Sketch markers, but not by boxes. I think a lot of people are trying to do the same thing as me, buy the copic ciao boxes and backfill the other colors with copic sketch markers. Maybe you can do a "complete your collection with sketch" program? That would be awesome.

I kind of prefer the Sketch markers...since my daughters and I use them, we need something that holds a bit more ink (to refill less often). I also like the shape (they won't roll off my table). I only have one original marker, and really like the nib for small areas. Sometimes, I think it would be neat to have a marker with a nib tip and brush tip (with no chisel tip), but I don't think they sell those.
cheers,

I just feel like with the sketch, well the brush tip is awesome to me and that you can use this with the air brush system too, which I have intentions of getting one day also!

Well, I would think that if you were able to, offer all three. They each seem to have a different selling point. They are pretty expensive for me, so unfortunately I can't give a review of each kind. Someday, with some luck, I can! Thanks for the chances!

I love Copics and have one full box plus an almost complete second box from the club. While I'd love to have more Copics, I don't know that I would join the club(s) for the sketch and original since I already have two boxes of the Ciao markers. For others who might just be starting out with their Copic collection, it would be great to have the choice of the other types, especially the sketch since there are more color choices. I think it would be worth trying clubs for the other types of Copics, if it isn't too overwhelming for you and your staff. (And don't get me wrong;I'd love to have that box of Copics you are planning to give away!)

Well, I haven't actually held a Copic marker in my hot little hands, but I have done a fair amount of research on them. From what I have read, the Sketch style markers are wonderful because of the color range. I have also read that they are bigger than the Ciao' which concerns me a little because I have small hands. I hadn't even considered the Originals and don't know much about them, it looks like they come in a nice selection of colors (more than Ciao and fewer than Sketch?) and the price seems to be about the same for the Sketch and the Originals with Ciao being a bit less expensive. I would be interested in seeing a comparison between the "marks" made between the three different types. (OK, that sounds weird but I just worked all night and I can't think of the word I wanted to use . . . ). I am definitely interested in starting a collection of Copic markers and I'm hoping to get into your club at some point.
Thanks for asking!

This is my first round in the Copic Club, and I am loving it. It gives me a chance to build my collection slowly- I would not otherwise be an owner of Copics I'm pretty sure. I love the colors and love the markers, but the price of buying a box at a time really turned me off to them. I just couldn't justify it when I already owned great markers. But, $25 a month fits really easily into my budget and I don't even miss it. So for me, I think the Copic CLub is genius. I've long since wanted to give the sketch markers a try, and often find myself wishing that there were a Sketch Club. So for me, the answer would be an very enthusiastic yes! to starting a sketch club. I don't know very much about the original markers, but they have piqued my interest too. I love, love, love the Copic Club!

It would be great to have options for the other 2 types but sometimes too many choices is rather daunting.
Well, it'll be cool to collect the rest for different coloring convenience, though for those that are finished with this round.

I am currently in process of completing 3 full sets of Caio via your clubs right now and LOVE the idea of not spending all the money at one time, getting happy mail once a month and opportunity to have some of the most fab markers that are "idiot" proof! BUT I would love to have the opportunity to expand my horizons with the versatility of the sketch markers. The color range is more diverse, you dont have to refill as often, it doesnt roll off the table can be used in the airbrushing tool and the shading possiblities are near endless. I think 6 dollars a marker is steep but when you do it 6 at a time 30-35 a month doesn't seem as bad a deal as it does spending 1200 at once for a set. Winning a set would be heaven and dream come true but dreams aside I hope you start a club and put me on the list =)

I have never tried Copics so I don't have an accurate opinion on this subject. I have been curious about them but the cost really scares me. So I haven't bought any. Any ideas for people like me, who are curious and would like to test the water? That being said, I would LOVE to win some! Thanks for the chance to win.

My opinion of having success in offering more marker clubs is to offer something *FREE* Example: when you sign up for a club, you can get a pkg of your delightful paper and some ribbon. Then if you finish - you could offer one of your *FREE* stamps sets. Do you see where I am going with this?
1. free stuff for us 2. more customers for you 3. everyone benefits!
I have been wanting to buy the Sketch because they can be used with an airbrush, and they hold a little more ink. And of course, they come in more colors. Also, when you store them you can see the color number right on the end of the cap. Makes it a little easier to see what I'm going for.

I started to collect the ciao because they were less expensive but I've been thinking of switching to sketch because they hold more ink and have more colors to chose from.

My opinion of having success in offering more marker clubs is to offer something *FREE* (especially in today's economy) I also would just jgo with the Sketchs- you would keep your old marker club members and members who havent used will start out with the sketch. Example: when you sign up for a club, you can get a pkg of your delightful paper and some ribbon.

I do not own any Copics so I can't really give you a valid opinion. However, they are on my wish list and I have been wondering how to join your Copic Club. Could you maybe blog on the exisiting club for those of us who are new to your blog and tell us what are your favorites?
Thanks!

Gina I think your Copic Club is a wonderful option for people. I was going to be in but got impatient and ordered a complete box LOL then another and well one more with your last sale so I am only needing one more box to finish my Ciao ones. I havne't used the others so I can't offer any opinion on them. I think for my needs the Ciao are just fine. Sorry I am not much more help other than to say please continue to offer at least some way for people to get these great markers at an affordable rate!

Gina, I much prefer the sketch markers, but I've been collecting for awhile so it might be hard to join a club at this point because of concerns about duplication.
Reply to this
Oh Gina-- this is wonderful!! Although I don't have any copics, I think it would be great to offer all different kinds! I personally would be a fan of the originals because they have a smaller tip. I hope I'm the lucky one to win the copic set.. Santa must have forgotten mine!

I have all the Ciaos and am ready to add some more to my color families. I think the Sketches would be a perfect add on. But, for me, I am interested only in the colors that the Ciaos do not come in. HTH
Reply to this
Personally I prefer the Ciaos primarily due to the cost and the fact that they are the same as the sketch and refillable. If I were signing up for a club it would really depend on the cost. I plan on buying some sketch markers in colours that are not available in the Ciaos.
Reply to this
I really like the idea of the sketch markers. Actually they are they only ones I have used since I received a set as a gift last year. It would be great to have a club to purchase more.
Reply to this
i would favor other options besides the Ciao markers. I personally use the Originals because of the small nib. I tend to stamp with smaller images and like how I can get into those small spaces.

I don't have any right now, but plan to collect the Sketch types this year because there are more colours to choose from.

I think it's a good idea I do not have any at this time, but have been looking at buying some later on this year.

Gina,
I haven't jumped in on the Copics at all, yet. They seem overwhelming, so when I do decide I really, really NEED them I would go with the 144 color style or I would go nuts. Thanks for your blog.

Gina: I'm a member of the current club and love the Ciao markers. However, I was a bit disappointed that the nibs weren't the fine line ones. I'd probably join again if you offered the original markers with the fine nib.

My favorite Copics are the originals as they work so well in coloring small areas and details, and you can also use the broader tip for coloring larger areas. I do have a few of each of the sketch and Ciaos, but use the originals the most.
Reply to this
I might be inclined to go with the original ones b/c of the ability to color those small images. Can you use the the spray with it? are they refillable too
Reply to this
I think I would be more incline to go with the chiao. Reason: Cost it appears the chiao would be less expensive.
Reply to this
Well, my understanding of the Copic line is that each type is for a different kind of "coloring". Since I don't have any yet, my take would be to offer clubs for all 3 types of Copics, so that once someone (me) has a few of one type, I could experiment with the other types too. The club environment makes them more affordable (?) - at least easier to acquire.

I love the sketch markers. I would definitely be interested in sketch marker clubs. The brush tip on the CIAO was hard for me to use.

I would love to see you bring in sketch markers. I have about 100 but I would eventually love to have them all. They truly are the cats' meow. Would you sell them individually? Hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I admit I haven't gotten into the Copic craze yet but have admired the work they do. I have never been great at coloring but I would think the more color choices you have the better. I say add the other lines.

I think adding the other lines would be good - especially since it gives you more color choices. Would they be available individually as well as in the sets? I hope so.

I would love to have you also carry the sketch markers. As many of us have "collected" all of the ciao markers, it would be nice to have the option adding in the colors that sketch provides! The club would be a great way, or boxes!

I have heard so much about Copics and would love ti try them. I teach scrapbooking and would like to use them and show my students how to use them and it would be a real plus for the manufacture, so please try to pick my name. Thank you, I love all that you do.

I've been collecting a combo of Ciaos and Sketch markers, just by the colors I like. It's hard to tell though, until I actually use the marker, just what shade it's going to be. Buying the pinks is especially challenging. This doesn't help you decide on what clubs to offer, but I thought I'd share what I've experienced. I've thought about getting some Originals in basic colors just for coloring in the tight spaces. Or maybe just replacing the chisel nib with a small nib, since I never use the chisel anyway. Thanks for the chance to win!
Reply to this
I've only had experience with the sketch markers, and that's beacause I've picked up 4 at Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon. I do like the brush tip, but can see how the nib on the original would be great for small spaces.

Hi Gina,
I have some Ciao markers and quite a number of Sketch markers (not nearly as many as you offer, either). I prefer the Sketch. At times I'm tempted to buy one of your sets, but don't because it would means way too many duplicate colors. Also, I'm really happy with the colors I have, and except for some additional blues and greens, don't need to buy more. The colors I need I'd buy individually and they'd be Sketch markers. My advisory vote to expand your inventory would be "no" don't; I wouldn't buy Originals because I don't need the extra colors they offer me-nor would I pay the extra price, and I much prefer the brush end for what I do. I'm a good artist, but I'm not a "professional" artist who would need those extra colors for what I do in stamping, coloring, drawing, etc.
Reply to this
I started with the sketch markers and would like to stay with them. I like the fact you can refill them, and the number of color options.

I like them all but if I had a choice I would add the original because of the small nib.

The more copics the better is my motto for 2009.

Since I've collected the four groups of Copic Cias's from you, I'd like to see the sketch. That way, if they come in other colors, I might need a few more to supplement my already large collection. I have to say I was a skeptic but I love my Copics!!!
Reply to this
I've only used the Copic original markers, but I love the wide and fine tips in general, more than a broad brush tip, as I find the brush tips harder to color with.
Reply to this
I would say the originals due to small nib. I like to color in small places where my other coloring options can't reach!
Reply to this
I have most of the Sketch already, so wouldn't be interested in a club, but I bet other people would buy them if you offered them. If it is in your plan at all to offer individual markers (I know that wasn't one of your options!!) I would consider buying them to expand my collection.
Thanks for the chance to win some Copics!

Well, Gina, kinda hard to give an opinion, since I don't have any copics, but I would think that I would get most use out of the ones that can fill in small spaces as they could be blended out from outline to fill bigger areas.

Hi Gina,
Thanks for asking. I do not yet own any copics but I have colored with them. I can't imagine NOT having the brush tip since I tend to do larger images. The idea of lots of colors is appealing but then hmmmm 144?? Right now that already seems like a lot to me. However, I have heard NOTHING but good about Sketch copics...
What I do hope is that you will continue to host a Copic club so I can get in on it now. It would be a wonderful way to get a set without breaking the bank all at once.

I don't have any Copics right now so I personally don't know the difference btwn these 3 different types of copics or know which ones to buy. It is well tempting to take the plunge, but I have tons of water-base markers that I just bought last year that I haven't use much. I probably won't buy copics right now until I used what I have right now.

I, too, do not own any Copics but have been considering buying them for a long time. I should just go ahead and purchase one Ciao and one Sketch to see the difference, but I'm sure I would end up wanting *both* for the brush and the fine nib options. As far as colors, 144 would be more than enough for me, but I'm sure the expert artists would vote for more, more, more! Thank you so much Gina for the chance to win a set!

I just recently started buying and coloring with Copics. I have not used the brush tip, only the original chisel and I love the chisel. What I really like best is the fine tip on them. I don't exactly have the steadiest hand and can work much more easily w/a fine point vs. a brush-like tip. Having the option to grow your collection, of either or both sets, would be awesome!

Gina, If it is good for your business offer all,of them. I am in the Caio club now and I wouldn't have any Copics with out that. I do wonder though about not being able to do air brushing with them after a year of investment so having ones that do "double duty" would be great.

Hey Gina...I only have a few copic. But I know it would be difficult to have TOO MANY colors to choose from. I would spend ALL my time figuring out which colors to use instead of coloring.

I have a mixture of Ciao and Sketch markers myself. I started off buying the Ciao style because they are a little cheaper, and I figured it was a good way to try a few and see how I liked them. I had actually been given one Sketch to try out, and my first thought was that I didn't like the way the cap fit on. You need to have it lined up just so, since it is oval shaped. The round Ciao lid is very easy to put on since it is round. I've gotten used to the lids on the Sketch markers now so I don't mind them any more. The plus I find with them (Sketch) is that you get more color in the barrel. I still prefer the brush tips on either Ciao or Sketch over the original style markers. So, all things considered, since people have different preferences, I think you would have enough interest to try a club offering of the other styles. Paople might like to try out a couple of each style in order to determine their preferences, so maybe a trial pack (a couple of each style) might be of interest. I am reading that there are a lot of people out there who have not tried out any of the Copic pens yet....

Hi Gina. I have to say that I am with the very first person who posted.....I cannot offer you a vaild opinion on this topic. I have never tried, nor even seen, a copic marker. From what I have heard here, they sound terrific and I'd love to have some. However, I have a big box of SU markers and currently (in this economy that is making a HUGE dent in my stamping/scrapping budget) cannot justify spending any money on more inks or markers.
Sad to say, but the total truth to the matter. The only way I will get my hands on any Copics this year will be to win them. **hint - hint** LOL!!!
Sorry that I cannot be of more help.
Good luck with your decision and your clubs.

Do I have a preference in the different copics? Not really.I do like the square and the oval.....they stay put when you lay them down. I like the brush on the oval copics but then again I like the fine tips on the square marker. So many things to ponder.....LOL. I'm excited to just be joining for the first time; however, Sketch or Original markers would be my preference. I already have some Originals. Thanks for including my comments.

I would go for having the options of the Sketch markers....great colour selection, love the brush tip. Gina, you are so sweet to always think of other people. Thank you for the chance at this generous giveaway!

Honestly, Copics are on my wish list right now! Stamping is new to me and these are definately a MUST HAVE! I have been busy purchasing so many tools, and Nesties and other supplies as I can afford them, but so far havent been able to get a set of Copics...since I cannot tell you which I would prefer, it looks like I will be busy reading through the comments on this post to see what everyone prefers.

Gina,
I a bunch (maybe 80) of the Sketch markers that I get at my local Dick Blick but I would have loved to join and buy my Sketch markers in a club format! I've never tried the Ciaos but prefer the Sketch over the Originals, myself.

Hi Gina -
I've never used the Copic Markers, but I have seen them demonstrated by Mary Jo McGraw at a stamp convention. They look very interesting. I think I may be interestes in the Sketch Copic Markers.
Thanks -

Gina, I love receiving you A Day in the Life...I look forward to it everyday. As for COPICS, I don't have any due to the affordability of them but I do hope to start a collection this year. After looking at the different options I believe the Original COPICS would be the ones I would go for. I love the look that they give to images!
Thanks for a great site and blog!

I have all three types of Copics, and like them all. I have more of the Ciao ones which is probably the only reason I use them more often. I'd be interested in buying all three types in the interest of having a wider selection of colors to choose from.

Gina---wow...getting something nice for offering an opinion---I LOVE IT!!! My precious husband just got me some Copics for Christmas. I know I'll want to buy some more....I think having the option to buy sketch would be great. That's one of the reasons I went with another vendor when I did tell my husband about them---because I really wanted the sketch---so I'd LOVE to purchase the rest of my markers from you if you had the sketch! Thanks for asking our opinions!!! Hugs~

I think both would be good as we use both all the time

I like the sketches but the original sketches would be nice because of the nibs.

I currently have some of the Ciao markers which I love using. My one complaint is the fact that I find it difficult to get into the small areas of an image with either end of the marker. The perfect Copic marker for me would be like the Stampin' Up markers, one end a brush tip and the other end a small nib but that, unfortunately, isn't available. So, I would go for the Copic that gives the most color selections.
Reply to this
I can't give you an answer, because I don't have any Copic markers. So I don't know if I would be interrested in more kinds of markers.
But what a great chance to win some and try them out....

Well if I ever get the time to try the ones I have and see how well I like them, this might be a good thing. I have just not played with the ones I have yet. I know I would like to have more colors! Thanks for asking what we think Gina.

I think it would be a wonderful opportunity to be able to purchase all the different markers that they offer. I purchased the Stampin Up entire box just before I found out about the Copic markers so I have to wait and justify purchasing the Copic markers. I hear they are WONDERFUL though!

My humble opinion. . . the Ciao markers work just fine for me!

Oh Gina, please, please, please carry the Original
Copic Markers!
I have found that my old hands work better with the size of the original style. Does this make sense?
(I also have better control with the bullet tip.)

I think the more the merrier but if they are too much work for you all to run all these clubs don't do it.

I would LOVE to win a set of copics, especially if using them would turn my projects into works of art. Offering all types is grand, but a HUGE inventory investment. From a business side, I would offer a club for each type and order only the quantity pre-committed. Guess this doesn't really help does it?
Reply to this
I prefer the sketch markers, because of the variety of colours available

I don't know the difference between the sketch markers and the Ciao, but I have teh sketch markers and love them. This club is a great way to get a full set without breaking the bank.

I believe you will have a different "audience" for the various kinds of markers; that being said, sometimes we're overwhelmed with all the choices! I like the idea of buying a few at a time!

Looks like the sketch markers are getting the nod and I'll go for that. I don't have any of the "sets" of copics, just an assortment I've picked up along the way and they are all Ciao.
Would like to try the sketchers. Better yet, would love to win some to really get me on the bandwagon.
Thanks, Gina.

It's funny - over the holidays I made the decision that I wanted to try the Copic markers and find a place to purchase them (living in Canada) shipping can sometimes be costly as well with the exchange. I want to get the Sketch because of the variety/amount of colors. Since I made the decision, these Copics are everywhere on the blogs. So yes Gina, I would love to get the Sketch markers through your club and would be perfect to even win too since it is my birthday tomorrow (Jan 6th). What could be nicer than that
Reply to this
I'm in the Copic Club that you run, which is great, thanks for starting that up. I'm on my second box. I love the markers, though I don't use them that much. I think I'm a little intimidated by them (and I know I shouldn't be). I think I need to get a blender pen so I can remove the ink for shading; that may help me get more into them. Great giveaway as always!

Well I haven't used the sketch and the chio work perfect for everything I have tried so far. At this point I am still working on the ciao so I think it will be a long while before I want the sketch. IMO

I'm not really looking to invest in a new coloring medium right now, but if I were, I would definitely appreciate having options!

Well I have a couple Copic Ciao markers and love them, then I stopped at Dick Blick while in Philly (because I had a 40% coupon) and ended up with the original markers, I thought I picked the Ciao markers but alas I did not, I do like them but not as much as the Ciao markers. However, I think if you gave people the option that would be great. Thanks for asking!

I have only purchased a few of the sketch markers and I like them. I do like the the fact that the original makers have nibs that can be replaced. These would have been my first choice, but the sketch are available where I purchased them. I will watch your site to see the results. Have a great day,

Hi, Gina....I'm a Copic Club member and appreciate having all the colors that I have by now; I think I might be interested in the Original Copics just because you say they're great to color in small images for stamping cards, etc. MK

My hubby just purchased Ciao Sets B & D from you for me...... I would love to join any of the mentioned clubs. I really want to grow my marker supply. Any info in the future would be great. Not sure how I have missed the opportunities to join the current club. The originals sound kind of cool but not sure I really need to color small areas. I think a small area can be colored with any thing
Reply to this
I think you should stay with the one type you currently offer. I think that you'd either be bombarded with questions on the duplication of colors or have people ordering sets of the newer types and finding they are the same colors as they already have in the Ciao version. If you plan to offer the air brush system then you would want to offer the Sketch marker; otherwise I'd stay with what the Ciao.

i have a couple of the Ciao Markers. I love them! i only started off on these and probably stay with them for a while because i cant afford the sketch ones.

I would really like if you were able to start a sketch or a original club. I would be even more thrilled if I can get in on one of them, I am always slow to respond. I think that this is a really affordable way for us to get all the colors in all of the styles that they make.

I was originally going to say that more colors would be fun but the ones with the small ends don't really interest me. Then, I read some of the comments and agree that maybe adding more colors would create all kinds of confusion. The markers are expensive enough that I think there are a lot of people out there who still need the basic colors. Good luck with whatever you decide. Keep up the good work!

I wouldn't let the number of available be the issue...how many different reds can one person own? I find it too overwhelming to even look at my pack of prismacolor pencils and end up going to my pack of 20 SU pencils....just my simple, humble opinion.

I tried Copics once at a LSS class, but wasn't really taught how to use it, so I ended up with streaks. I hear that that doesn't happen with Copics, so I think I wasn't taught a thing. I would think most people will want the set with the most adaptability and colors. Thanks Gina!
Reply to this
I would love if you offered the original - they are much easier to color with. I would also love to take a copic class, but that probably won't happen where I live!

If you are going to spend the money, I think that the Sketch that have 322 colors verses the Ciao that have 144 colors would be better. The tips are the same and both are refillable. The original ones don't seem to be necessary if you can get the other ones since its tips are different with the fine tip instead of the brush and broad nib of the Sketch and Ciao. I have started my collection with the Sketch - the pen doesn't roll like the Ciao pen would. I sure would like to join a Sketch club. Take care!

I would just be happy to own ANY of the Copics! But we are on a tight budget with 2 babies and can't afford that right now. Such a bummer!

I was part of one of the copic clubs, and I loved getting my markers in the mail every month. I want to do it again, but I don't think I'd want to pay anymore than I was. So I don't think I would go for the original markers. I may go for the sketch markers. I like additional colors, and I prefer the tips on them, but I honestly think the Ciao's are the most comfortable to use.
Reply to this
I am coloring-challenged and, as such, have not jumped on the Copic bandwagon yet... in spite of all of the fabulous samples and internet excitement about them! So, my response is that I can resist a Copic club in any form -- though I'd love to win your giveaway to see if you can change my mind...
Reply to this
Well I don't own either set but eventually I will. I like the sounds of copic and think anyone would be lucky to own at least one set. Are you going to offer to fill the copic's? Sketch last longer and hold more. Ciao doesn't. But I can't belong to a club, I don't own any and would like another chance to win. But if I don't win NO I won't become a member of the club.

I have a few Ciao markers and love them. I would be interested in a Sketch club. I have been holding off joining a club kinda waiting for the sketch.

Gina, I am not currently a member of the Copic Club but have been considering joining. That being said, I would stick with the current Ciao markers as that is what I have started collecting already. This is also based largely on cost as if I am not mistaken Ciao markers are a little more inexpensive and that is a crucial factor to me right now. Hope that helps!

When the current club ends, I won't be joining any more marker clubs, so I won't give my opinion on future issues.

I am slowly putting together a set of chiseled copics, not sure which is which. I really have not started using them, so I do not have a preference. I do see a benefit to the tip that is more usable with smaller images. Not a whole lot of large spaces on most of my stamped images. Hope this is helpful. Thanks.

I've never used copics, so I don't really know the difference between all the types. Doing a quick look at the copic website, it seems like the other ciaos are the most limited in use, so I imagine I would want one of the other systems. But it would also depend on how much they cost. Financially, I probably wouldn't be able to get something like this for a couple of years, so I probably wouldn't use something like this for awhile.

Hi Gina! I didn't realize there was a difference in the Copics until you posted these pictures. I have seen wonderful creations with these markers and picked up a couple at my local Hobby Lobby - I think they are sketch markers. But I certainly wouldn't mind being part of a club to purchase them. It looked like my color selection was limited and I think you would be able to provide a greater variety, not to mention a neat box to store them in. I hope that helps.

I personally like the Copic Sketch markers. I think having different clubs for each type would be great! That gives everyone a chance to add the markers of their choice to their selection. Great idea!

I haven't even had my hands on a Copic!! I know crazy right? I love color and love to color in my stamped images, so why don't I have any Copics yet? Sheer confusion on my part.
Which one is best for me, a stamper who likes to color in and on the stamp. Do I want to spend money on Pens that cannot be used to apply color directly to the rubber stamp?
Let's say I do want to try Copics, then the question is, which style? What's the difference between Sketch and Ciao, just the amount of colors available?
I do like the idea of a Copic Club, and do hope to join in one day, once I can decide which Copic is right for me.
It seems to me that I may be leaning toward the Sketch markers and that's why I have hesitated. At any rate, your poll is interesting and the giveaway generous as per usual.
Thanks for letting me ramble on and I hope it helps in some way.

I own alot of Sketch Copics - it would be nice to have the other types available too. If one uses their Copics alot, I think eventually one would be able to determine which colors they could use a different tip on and just have that on hand in the styles needed rather than messing with changing out tips themselves. Great blog Candy!

I'd love to see you sell individual markers, probably would prefer Sketch, and preferably at a "decent" and competitive price to that of other on-line vendors. I don't own any Copics currently; had some Ciao's and did not like the feel of them in my hand, found them to be not balanced at all. I would also like to see a "guide" for the Copic novice, with suggestions for "must haves" to start out with.

I am partial to the sketch markers because I heard these are the only ones you can use for airbrushing. I have a few colors but realized that you really do need "shades" of similar colors to get the effect of shading and shadowing.

I just recently tried them for the first time. I bought 4 colors (two blue shades and two green shades) - and I purchased the SKETCH version. I haven't tried the others, so I can't compare them, but I think the more variety of colors the better, in my opinion. Hope that helps!

This is a tough question. I'm in your Copic club and am in love with my Copics. I am interested in trying the new airbrush system but someone told me it didn't work with the CIAO markers. I haven't had a chance to validate this but if it's true then I'd like to start collecting the Sketch markers for Club #3. If I can use my CIAO markers with the airbrush system I will continue with the remaining two sets I don't have of CIAO markers. The original set is intriguing for smaller, more detailed coloring but honestly I love the CIAO's.
Thanks for asking our opinions.

My gf generously allows me to use her Copics of which she has the Ciao and Sketch. Though the Ciao is easier on the hand, I like the Sketch with it's large assortment of colors. The slightest variation in colors makes for great shading. I'll seriously have to consider getting some Copics for myself this year.

Hi Gina... happy new year! I've never used these markers either, but I'd love to try them. As with so many, it is the money stopping me. Should I start collecting, I would probably chose the Sketch ones for the following two reasons: 1. they are refillable; 2. more colours. Thanks for asking. God bless.

Gina, I already own about 70 of the Sketch Copics and I love them. Another club would be the way to go ,especially for someone who is waiting to start with these markers. I would like to add to what I have already but do not want to duplicate colors. I would not join, but would buy more single colors to add to my collection. I think that would be a lot of trouble for you and I understand if you do not go that route. Thanks for being so sweet and love ya always!

I started buying Ciao but recently switched over the Sketch to get more color choices. It's true, they are wonderful coloring tools. I would think that the person that really enjoys coloring would appreciate being able to expand their choice of colors with the Sketch version.

I like the few Sketch style Copics I have, but have never had the opportunity to try the Ciaos. Sorry I'm not more helpful.

I personally have only used the sketch and I love them. I would love the others I am sure but I could not really justify the expense.

I'm just glad I don't have to read all these comments. LOL

I have never tried Copic markers. I have some other markers but have not been very successful at blending. I'm not sure I would join the club but it would be a nice option to have.

If I had the money right now, your copic club sounds awesome! I have tried all three types of markers and have to say that I like the Sketch the best. The original copic's don't have a brush tip on them and the Sketch seem to be a little smoother than the ciao markers. So my opinion would be Sketch all the way

I honestly couldn't say. I've never tried a Copic marker before (although I would like to). Money is a little scarce here at the moment, so I can't commit to any ongoing purchases.

I like the Ciao markers and have never used the Sketch ones, but I would bet they are wonderful too!

I have some of the Sketch and Original Copic Markers. I would love to add to my collection, but right now, money is tight. I love your blog.

In any case, I'd love to try them out for you, LOL!!

I like the idea of adding the Sketch Copic markers because it expands the color variety. Thanks for opening up the discussion. I am not all that familiar with the Copic Marker Club - can you describe what it entails?
Reply to this
I have some of each of all three styles. To be honest though less expensive Ciao are my least favorite. My favorite are the sketch markers. I love the feel of them in my hand. I must add that I am 6 foot tall and have big hands so the ciao just feel to small. I like the square shape of the sketch and all the color choices. I'm thinking of swapping out the chisel tip, which I rarely use and replace it with the fine tip for those very small places. Wouldn't ever want to give up the brush which is why I don't prefer the originals.

I think sketch would be best because they can be used with the airbrush...

I would love for you to carry the sketch markers. That's the ones I have started using and I would love to get them in a club.

I would love to be a part of a Sketch marker club. I'm just about finished collecting all of the Ciao markers from being a part of the club for the past year. However, I do find that I don't always have the exact shade I want with the smaller selection of Ciaos. I would love to see a Sketch marker club.. and would happily be a part of it!

Gina, I haven't tried the Copics, yet, but I want to. I haven't jumped on the wagon for the clubs, but hope to in the next couple of month. I would love a chance at each, of course I could only do one at a time, but after the first one, then we could start on the next one, if we wanted to, guess it would just be nice to have the choices.

I think I would get more use out of the sketch markers. They sound like they would be a little more versatile.
Would love to win a set.

I recently tried some, and while I can get good shading with my SU markers ,the ability to use the Copics with an airbrush intrigues me. I also like the ability to replace worn nibs and create my own colors. If I were to purchase any in quantity, I would be looking for the versatility offered by the Sketch markers. Thank you for asking.

Gina....first have to say that your generosity has always amazed me. I think it is so sweet of you to ask what your customers want.
I started with the ciao club and would be hesitant to switch at this point for fear of duplicating. Would the club run the same as the ciao....A-B-C-D with the same colors in each group? I started with sketch, but joined the club, because it was just easier on the pocketbook to get a little at a time, I have sets A-B. I started with the sketch's and liked them a little bit more. Just wondering how that would work.
Thanks for all you do!!

Love using Copics and would be very interested in adding more than the Ciao. The selection of more color options and having finer nibs for detail would be great. Copics are NEVER boring! Thanks for another opportunity to win blog candy. I have such a sweet tooth!

Yes, offer both. We always need more colors. hehe

I would like to be able to have an opinion on the Copics, but I do not yet own any. I plan on getting some this year as I love the techniques and finished products. I think a lot of us who do not have them would love to know the pros and cons of each type so we could then make an informed purchase. Thanks for the opportunity and great ideas!

Hi Gina...I love the concept of the copic marker club and have been collecting the ciaos. Personally, I am happy with you just offering the ciaos...there are enough colours there to keep me busy! I would imagine however, that there would be quite an interest in the other styles if you offered them!

I say definitely go with the Sketch markers along with the Ciao because of the range of colors. I don't have an opinion about the originals.

Boy am I glad you asked! I've been meaning to e-mail and ask you this exact question for months! I'd love to see a Sketch club started. I bought my first and only set of sketch copics at a stamping convention. I also got the airbrush set so have to stick with the sketch type rather than the ciao you've been offering. Gina, I have never used Copics and know there are differences, but now I am confused. I saw the Sketch at Hobby Lobby for the first time today at $5.99 and remembered your stamp club so interesting you would ask today.
I think it would be nice to have the availability of the smaller nib for smaller areas and more colors. I'm thinking I might even be able to join a club soon so this is perfect timing for me as a newcomer to Copic.
Thanks for your thoughtfulness and the drawing.

I have a few of each and I got to tell you I like the Sketch Markers better. I think they work better and I like that the number and color is written on the cap, which make it easier to get the colors you want. Hoping to add more to my Sketch Collection soon!!

I just got two sets of the CIAO in November, and am interested in getting more. It would be my personal preference to stick with CIAO for the time being. If there is another club starting for the B&C sets, please let me know. Thank you.

I have used SU markers at classes, and have not bought any yet. Bought 2 copic sketch to see what they were like. The ends were too big for my small coloring, but then I'm just starting to color in and loving it. I've researched copic and their site has wonderful tutorial on it. I am gong to buy ciao copic, and in earth tones. Hope I win some markers to further my fun investigations.

I think you should carry both of the other styles of markers. Maybe start with a smaller inventory and go from there. If you are going to add it to the club well then maybe start with one of the other styles.
Good Luck
I hope you give tutorials for the new markers if you decide to carry them.
Thanks and have a beautiful day.

I would be interested in the Sketch markers. If I knew I could just start in a club anytime (or whatever month, etc), I would be more likely to start...it's the having to sign up to wait and not knowing if I might have the money when it's time to start or whether I might want to buy the markers before my turn.

I say YES!!! I only have the Sketch and that is why I never joined a club because I love the Sketch markers better than the Ciao.
I LOVE that they also have so many more colors.
THank you Gina for always thinking of your customers. You are #1

I don't have any Copics and don't plan to purchase any right now because I have several sets of Prismacolor markers. Thanks for the chance to win a set which would be nice for a comparison to the Prismacolors.

This is a timely question for me. I own the full set of SU markers, I don't like the way they color in an image. This weekend I went to the local stamp store to look at the Copic Markers. I was a bit overwhelmed, I think when I buy them I would buy a full set because I would feel like I would be missing something. With this said, when I purchase them I would like to take a class to show me how to use them. I hope this helps.

I would have to say the sketch markers. I am a big fan of brush tip markers.

I have one set of Copic markers that a friend bought for me ... I know I need to practice because I cannot do a thing with them, including colouring in between the lines! So for now I'm not investing in any more, but once I practice and "learn" how to use them properly, well, you never know! Never say never ... thanks for the chance to win though ... it would be a great way to get a collection going! LOL.

I don't own many Copics, but the ones I do own are the sketch markers, and I LOVE them. I have gotten pretty good at coloring with my SU markers, but I LOVE the Sketch markers I own. I guess I am saying yes, LOL!! I think it would be awesome to carry the sketch as part of the club so that there are more color choices.

Well, since I have a few of these since I started buying singles, I would not want any in sets, unless I could make my own sets, but that probably wouldn't be very feasible. I have the Ciao markers and they work just fine for me. Thanks for the chance to win!

I have a few Ciao and a few Sketch markers. To be honest I prefer the sketch markers. They seem to be easier to hold and I also love all of the color options. As far as coloring in small places, once you get used to the fact that you barely touch the tip of the marker to the paper it gets much easier. Thanks for the opportunity to win. For once I would really love to be a winner in your drawing!!!!!

I haven't used these before but the crafter in me says chisel end and brush tip because you can always use the thin end of the chisel for smaller spaces and still have the brush tip for a softer, whispier stroke. JMO.

I'm amassing quite a collection of these little beauties. I tend to go for the original markers, but I must say that after I use them on a few projects, the nib doesn't seem as fine as it used to be and I find it hard to colour the tiny images well. I NEVER use the chisel end BTW - I wish they would put out a marker with a fine tip and an even finer tip! Maybe I should try the brush tip. Anyway, IMHO, I think it would be great to offer more choice - go for the different varieties. You'll soon see if people don't like them.

Hi Gina ... Personally, I adore and cherish my Copics (mix of Sketch & Ciao).
I think it would be totally amazing to have the additional option of purchasing the *Sketch* and/or *Original* Copic marker. [[Note: I prefer the Sketch design because of the massive available colour selection, and also because of how they identify the colours on both ends of the marker. However, because they are more expensive, I've had to sometimes chose the CIAO style, so I don't break the bank.]]

I have collected both the Ciao and the Sketch markers. I started with Ciao due to them being a wee bit cheaper, but I have switched to Sketch - holds more ink and has the color and # on the end of the cap with the same tips as the Ciao. So, if I were to join a club, it would likley be the Sketch markers.

Well, I have no copics yet myself, so cannot make an educated opinion. HOWEVER, given that I have every other coloring medium known to most stampers, I do have an idea. Since I have learned from my multitude of other purchases that I do not use all the colors I currently own, I would probably benefit from starter packs to get me hooked on a new medium. Flesh tones, shading colors, a pink, a red, a pale blue, a green (like SU's Certainly Celery)... mmmm. That's enough for me to start!

To be very honest though, alot of my Ciaos are out of ink and now I'm buying the refills. I like the idea of having more color options and MORE INK in the Sketch style; AND, having the name and number on the cap really comes in handy! Just my two cents!
Hope everything is going well with your Dad...you've been in my prayers.

I wish I'd known about the club when I started buying them because there would have been less stress for me in trying to figure out which ones to get first, second, third and so on. I also have never used Copics. I just have not broken down yet and got any. I have read alot about them, saw cards colored with them but never tried them myself. I would say yes offer the others too. Thanks

Love the Copics - I only have about 10 different colors, and I'm not sure which style they are . . . I'd like any of them!!

Hi Gina,
I do not have much experience with the copics, and currently own onlly one for skin color. However I'm on the fence about ordering them. If I were to purchase it would most likely be the sketch. The are nice to handle. I would definitely not buy the originals for several reasons:
1- The smell after a while, and I get a headache from them
2- they're too bulky
3- they're expensive
After some consideration if I were to buy Copics it would be the sketch types because:
1- they are easier to hold
2- they are refillable
But presently however I cannot make that financial investment.

I have not really ventured into the realm of copics yet, but I think the sketch's are a great idea...lot's more colors. OMG! If I could win a set, I would be sucked in foresure, lol!

Hi Gina,
I am thrilled to see you offer this club. I am new to your website and blog. i think if I participate I would like the original markers. It seems like everyone who has these loves them.Once again, thanks for being so generous with your giveaways!!

I may not be the best judge since I don't own any copics, but I would think the sketch markers would be a better of the two.

Sketch markers are pricey but do offer more colors - I say why not! Actually my real opinion or request rather, is please offer the markers individually. Some of us new to Copics are still discovering just some of the basics to coloring with these.

Wow what a give away. I love the sketch copic but haven't used the others yet.

I like the Sketch and I would consider joining a club for the Sketch makers. I like for colors. They are more versatile as far as being able refill etc...

Gina, what a perfect blog for me today. I am so torn about getting copics and now you throw this question to me. I am seriously thinking about starting my copic "collection" and not sure which ones to start with. Maybe this will decide it for me!!

I don't have any Copic markers yet, but I have heard wonderful things about them. From what I've ready, sounds like no matter what you offer they'll be snapped up.
Thank you for all you do for us addicted fans of GinaK.

I'm collecting the Copic Sketch markers, and love them! I've never tried the other styles, because I'm focusing only on one type. A friend actually told me about the Sketch markers, and that's why I started with them. I would absolutely love it if you sold the Sketch markers!!

I can't really help on this one. I don't own any Copics. From what I've read, I'd like to try them- any of them. I hope your get some good feedback.

I have been slowing accumulating the Sketch markers from Hobby Lobby (using their 40% coupons). I am loving them and notice that for coloring I head to the before my SU markers. I love being able to blend with them. Yes, others say they get as good of results with their SU markers but I can't seem to. I know 144 SEEMS like a lot of colors but when you are looking for shades within color families you need lots (and lots) of colors. To be honest, I'm not tempted with a marker club because I have already started my collection, but I do know I will continue to collect the Sketch markers in ones and twos.

I guess I would have to say that I would like the originals because I dont have any. I have been tempted to try them so maybe soon. Got to build finances back up again first. Thanks for the chance to win them.

I wish I could offer you an informed opinion, but I can't. You see, I really want to try Copics, and have been poffered by a friend to borrow theirs, but I've declined. I know I can't afford any right now, and I thought it best I don't try them until I can afford them..... Wouldn't want to be "jonesing" after something I know I couldn't get right now. Patiently waiting for the day I can try them.

Gina,
I cannot be a sounding board for the copic markers either but have drooled over them ever since I've seen Gina and other card makers use them. I would LOVE to have them but just can't afford them yet. Thank you so much for your big heart and letting us have a chance to win some.

I have purchased a few copic sketch markers from Hobby Lobby using the 40% off coupon or the 30% off of markers. It takes alot of time to get anywhere! I did purchase a set when you had your sale on the 29th of December and I am waiting for those to arrive!

Well thanks to the Ciao club and your great sale, I finally have all the Ciao markers! I would love to start on the Sketch ones! Thanks for even thinking of doing another club - I'm sure it's lots of work for you but I for one appreciate it!!!!

I have to admit that I don't own any Copic markers, even though I hear lots of rave reviews. I already have a set of SU markers that I'm very pleased with. I'm afraid that I would make a huge investment in the Copics and then not be able to get good results.

Well, I just began my collection last week & now am almost the owner of 100 Ciao's! I hear they are amazing!! I can say however, that most of my friends are doing the Sketches; so I do think a Sketch club would benefit you tremendously as well as us gals who have to purchase things in moderation! Thanks for listening to my opinion! Can't wait to see what you decide.

I have both styles and like the Ciao better for coloring, but like to see the number displayed on the cap of the sketch markers.
But having your inventtory double might be the deciding factor, right?!
Gina, I found a European website that sells them for 1pound66 which comes out to about $2.33 (as of now). Shipping was an additional ten dollars, but that included somewhere around 20 markers.

I actually haven't gotten a chance to work with any Copic markers but I'm eagerly awaiting the day I get the opportunity to...I've heard such awesome things about them. Thanks for the chance to win some.

I too have never had the opportunity to coor with the copic markers. They are sort of out of my budget at this point. I will have to rely on what others think.

I think that more options are generally better, if it is cost effective for you and club members. Hope that helps!!!

Hi Gina
I can tell you that although the Ciaos and Sketches are similar w/ the same brush tips, if you are getting some girls who are new to the club, you may want to carry the Sketch too only because prior Copic clubs have done so and I know I like to stay within the same marker shape. As for the original, I have a set of 12 and don't use them very much anymore because I am not fond of the smaller nibs, although I am looking into getting replacement brush tips for them as I hear you can do.
If I were to pick two, I'd probably do Ciao and Sketch, but of course that's only my opinion
I'm anxious to hear what you decide!
Hugs,
Jessica

So far, I only have the sketch markers so I cannot give a fair opinion. I am really liking my sketch markers, though.

I'm a novice Copic user and have started building a collection of Sketch markers (at the time they seemed to be the recommended option). My hodge podge would probably become much more structured if I joined a club. I held off on the Ciao club because I'd already started with the Sketches. So yes, I'd be interested in a Sketch club. THANKS! (Of course, I'd still be interested in winning ANY copics). :o)

While I have only purchased the Ciao style markers, if the Sketch Markers are similar but offered in more colors, I think that would be a wonderful club option. I would love to join a club to get more of the markers. I feel extremely limited with the set I currently have.

Unfortunately I have never been able to see a Copic marker in real life. But I do see what beautiful things people are making with them and how everyone that has tried them loves them. If I were you I would set up a different group for each Copic type and then people can get whichever type they prefer. And lets be honest a bunch of people love them so much they will collect all the sets (hence the reason I have not started collecting them yet LOL).
Maybe try it out with a second set and see how that goes first, then go from there.
Thanks for a chance to win Copics!

I would say stick with the Ciao. The Sketch and original are more expensive. I haven't seen the originals, but I've heard they're rather big. From what I've read, the Sketch and Ciao are basically the same (other than the airbrush factor, which isn't an issue for most of us), but the Ciao has less colors. Still, I think the Ciao has enough colors for the "average" stamper.
Reply to this
I have some of each kind but I find that I prefer the Sketch markers. I like that they don't roll off of the desk and that the color # and name is on the end where I can see them since I store them horizontally. I don't think the Ciao markers work in the airbrush, either, do they?
Reply to this
I love to color but haven't jump on the Copic wagon yet so I'm not sure which style I would prefer. The clubs are tempting.

I have not used Copic markers although several of my card making buddies swear by them. They all use the Ciao because of the price factor. I think it would be fun to have a rainbow of Copics to play with.

I love my Sketch Copic markers. I need about 120 to finish my whole set. I do shop on price though due to the number of Copics that I want. I would recommend them to anyone!
Reply to this
I've never tried copics at all, mostly based on the price. I think those people who love them might want more options than just the ones you are offering now in a club format though. Just my thoughts.
Reply to this
I would probably prefer the Sketch markers for the larger color selection and the ability to use in airbrush. I don't have very many of the Sketch markers and I haven't tried airbrushing but the possiblity of using them for this would tip my decision. I guess I would have to look at the prices if a Club was offered.

I like both the ciao and the sketch markers, I have some of both, I don't know about the originals, I have never tried them, I would be interested in just about any type of copic club. They really are cool markers.

I need help with the shading. maybe if I had more colors it would be easier.

I haven't had a chnace to try Copics yet, but I'd love to. After reading through these comments I'm unsure which set I'd use most. I was thinking I'd like Originals, but so many people seem to love the Ciao markers. I guess I need to learn more about them.

I adore the Ciao copics I've collected from your clubs. I would love to get the Sketch colors I don't have with the Ciao ones, especially the triple zero colors. If do the club like the Ciao club I would have duplicates so I'm unsure if I would join or not, you never know!

With all my blog hopping and research, I think when I really start buying copics, I will go for the sketch style...mainly because they can be refilled, which means I will have them for LIFE! I have three right now and love them, but still researching which colors I want to jump in to...I know ones that go with my SU! cardstock for sure!

I have never used the Copic markers, and if I did buy some, I would want whatever is most "beginner friendly". I am currently trying to get better at coloring shading/blending with my Prismacolor pencils.

Copics are truly fabulous. I've discovered that I like having both the Originals and the Sketch, which I did not think was going to be the case. When I first started looking into them, I thought I would want one or the other, and anything more would be overkill, but it turns out that it isn't. Each has different uses - and if you ever get into doing any airbrushing, the more ink the pen will hold, the better for that aspect. The Originals have more nib options, as well. I hope you will also offer some type of storage, whether it be the plastic cases or the folding wallets. I know I could definitely use some of those, particularly as the collection gets bigger!

I don't have Copic markers but I've heard so many things about them and would LOVE to try them. My first instinct would be to go with the Sketchers if they are the same, but just have more colors available. But I'd go with whatever the "experts" say! They know what they're doing, unlike me! Plus, I'm not sure what you mean by brush-tip or chisel end or short nub end. All I've ever used are Plume and now I've completed my SU set.

I currently don't own Copics, and haven't used them enough to give a good opinion on whether the other sets would be worwhile to offer. From the outside looking in...I would say that "more colors" are usually better (for those of us that like to get them all once we decide to purchase them).
Thanks for a chance to win.

I have been in the Ciao Club and have almost 3 sets of them. I don't use them much but think that might because I get nervous about which colors go with which. I don't know that I would buy into another type club unless the colors of that different type of marker (say the Sketch) would fill in "inbetween" the colors I already have in the Ciao's?? that make sense? But would love to win some!! geez, that would save me the hassle of decision time!! LOL! Barb S.

I have box A of the Ciao from the club, I like my markeers, and want to do the next club, but I don't really use them as much as I should (need to work on/change that). But, if the airbrush system only works with one type then having a variety may be a good thing!

I've been dancing around buying a set but they seem so costly all at once - and buying one at a time hardly seems a good idea because you couldn't shade things. I missed your sale of the sets you recently had - can't believe I was away from my computer when you had just what I needed to get started. I like the club idea -- and would love to be a part of one that uses the Copics you can airbrush with. Also would like to be able to purchase the refills.

I only have a few of the Copic markers, purchased individually and would love to have more. I have started collecting the sketch markers largely because they can be used with the air brush system. I do not have any Copics yet, nor have I tried them but they are on my wish list. Based on just color alone, I would pick the Sketch because of the variety, but before I invest in these, I really do want to try them first. Once I do decide, I would love to be able to get them at one place. Would you entertain the idea of selling sets outside of Copics configuration. For example, a set of 3-4 markers in each of the color groupings that go together for us Copic newbies? That would definitely take out a lot of the guesswork for those of us first starting out, without having to own so many right away.

My opinion is that the most start with the ciao and when there gone use it the go on with the sketch. So i think that both the ciao and the sketch must to be in your shop. What i also think is that some stores sell only pens and no accesoires so if you need something else from the copic you'l have to searce for an other store i don't like that. I prefere to stay at the same store for everything.
I know i'am from the Netherlands but i buy a lot in the US the reason is that the people in the US know a lot more about cardmaking and scrapbookmaking etc then we do and i also love the people in teh US.
Keep up the good work.

I have a few copics and absolutely love the shading and blending ability of them. With the economy as it is, however, I think that if could you could order at a "group price", a group of say 5 or 6 colors of your choice without having to commit to such a large outlay of cash at one time would be beneficial.

I own a few of the Ciao Copics and I love the way they blend. I like the fact that there are more colors of the Sketch markers, but I really don't know if I would prefer them. I love what you do with the Copics, but I don't really feel that I am good enough with them to actually commit to a large purchase of them. That might be connected to the fact that I have a limited supply of colors to shade and blend, however.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a set of these wonderful markers! You are such a generous person!

I love copic sketch markers. They have the number on the cap so it's easy to find the one you're looking for plus they can be used for airbrushing and that is so neat. Do a tutorial on airbrushing and you'll see lots more interest in the sketch markers!
Unfortunately since you don't stock sketch I've had to purchase them else where. So I do already have some. I don't know how the kits will fit into the inventory I already have. If there are kits with all new colors I don't have, I would definitely buy them. But I believe I already have a mix from the different A, B & C kits already. I would also be purchase if you had individual markers for sale.

I am not in a position to offer my opinion on the Copic markers at this time. I will share with you that one of my friends purchased some at a craft event we attended in early fall and she is constantly raving about them. I did not realize there were multiple types to choose from, and I do not remember which ones she purchased. The cost of each set of the markers is quite steep, so the idea of offering a Club to purchase them in smaller steps is a great way for someone to be able to own a set!

What an awesome give away! I have an assortment of both Ciao and Sketch. I tend to like the Sketch because they are more comfortable in my hand when I am coloring. I also love having a larger color assortment to choose from. Carry them both, you won't go wrong!

good morning, I started buying the a couple of years ago and have both types (ciao and sketch). I love that they are refillable although I haven't had to do that yet. One of my other fav things is the way they color chipboard - especially the edges of mini albums I create. They sometimes 'bleed' or seem to blend my stampin' ink a little so I have to be a little careful. However, I do really like the color choices and the brush tip. I still use my SU markers, koh-i-noor, prisma, H2Os, and other color mediums. I will continue to add to my copic collection. Thanks - wonderful site, love your creativity. shelley

I would love to have some copic markers but my budget just won't allow it. Thanks for this chance to possibly own some. I usually color with generic pencils which do a fair job but not near as pretty as I've seen the Copics look.

I've only started buying copics - the place I bought it has only sketch ones. I'd prefer the ciao though, as they're smaller and cheaper

I love Copic markers especially the Original. The smaller end makes it easy to color in tight small areas.

I don't own any of these markers, however, have had the opportunity to play with both types. The similarities between the use of the Ciao And Sketch markers were almost the same...except the barrel of the sketch seemed bigger. I found myself reaching for some of the sketch grouping more, just because the variety of colors seemed like a better progression for shading. I have to admit, that I looked to shading, like I did using other marker sets, and probably didn't get the full advantage of these markers...just adding to, or building up on. They didn't streak, smear, and I felt the colors were vibrant. Cost puts the Ciao's more in reach than the sketch, however, I have a big investment in all the marvy's, tombows and SU markers now. Would I love these....you bet!!!. Do I need them...probably not, but right now, I'm trying to refrain from feeling I gotta have them. I think price and availability are important to consider, and also, if there is any repetition in color between the sets. If there is repetition, perhaps selling single colors that would make a "total" set, even though they are slightly different types.

I have some of the Copic sketch markers and love them. Before purchasing them I did alot of research (as I was spending alot of $$) and decided that the best option for me would be the sketch markers since they were available in more colors and could be used with the airbrush system.

I only have a few Copics and I love them. I started with the sketch because that's what the localcraft store had in stock. I have used the originals and do enjoy that small tip for coloring small areas. I haven't used the Ciaos very much. I would prefer to add tithe collection of Sketch markers that I already have.

I have not tried Copics yet but would LOVE to join a copic club!! I hear so much about them!! I might pick Sketch first, then the others!!!! Thank you so very much!! I love your Co and enjoy your blog!!

I think you should carry all the types of copics. It is relieving to know you have a place to go for all your card making needs.

I started collecting the Sketch markers so I would be most interested in a club for those.

I have only colored with the Sketch markers because I can buy them locally, and because they come in more colors. I would LOVE a Sketch club so I can add to my existing collection.

Gina, I have yet to purchase even one Copic. I absolutely love everything I've seen that has been colored with Copics. I guess I'm afraid I could never color as beautifully as the ones I've seen. I'm also afraid that once I do try them, I won't want to use anything else...LOL! Thanks for the opportunity to win some.

I only own one little Ciao Copic marker and I do really like it. I don't know about the other types - I haven't tried them. My little marker would love some company and I would love to work with the copics a little more. I am interested in joining your marker club as well. Thank you as always!

I was lucky enough to get the C Box on sale on your website. I love them and I would definetly be interested in different types and a bigger color selection!! I rarely win anything so I will def keep my day job.

I would love to be able to get the original copics with the fine point. The Caio and Sketch are the same except you can't use the Caio with the airbrush system

Oh I am aching to use Copic markers but here in these hard economic times I cannot afford to buy a set. I am sorry that perhaps this puts me out of the drawing to win some as I suppose I am not being helpful.
I am saving up (a little here and there will eventually add up). Once I can afford some I would want to buy both kinds.

I really don't know which would be the best because I have never had the opportunity to try any. I would love to win some as I have never won anything. I love checking your blog everyday.

I use Sketch and would love to see you offer a Sketch Club so I can increase the numbers of markers that I currently own!
Thank you for asking and I look forward to seeing what else everyone has to say!

I would have loved to buy my copics from you but I wanted the sketch and the original types. The original holds more ink and has a fine tip. The sketch comes in more colours. So, I couldn't buy from you. I really wanted to though - Nimmy

YES, PLEASE, CARRY THE ORIGINAL COPICS!!!! They hold more ink, the small nib end is incredibly useful. I have the hardest time finding the originals, and I use my Copics all the time. I don't want to add Sketches and Ciaos, as I already have and prefer the originals, but I get desperate for some of the colors when the originals aren't available. Please, please, carry them, Gina.
And for those of you who haven't used them yet, they take a little while to get used to as the technique is somewhat different, but once you master it, you will never go back to your old pens.

I would like to see a Copics-Sketch club. These are my markers of choice; probably because I already owned several and decided for budgetary reasons to stick with 'em. I enjoy your blog and continue to get inspiration and information on using the Copic markers.

Hi Gina,
I love the examples and tutorials you have with the Copic markers. I do not have any yet and have considered joining the club. It would be great to win some to give them a try!

Gina,
We have Ciaos and my daughter loves them. We are thinking of investing in Sketchs. I think it would be good to have a choice especially since Ciaos are limited in colors.

I purchased two sketch and two ciao markers to try them. I liked both styles. I then spent a lot of time online reading comments in blogs about why one style was chosen over the other. I ended up purchasing the sketch markers. The biggest reason was I can use it with my airbrush equipment. I recently purchased the 4th and last box of 72 markers. I also like that the sketch has more color options. Eventually, I will look for the last few fill in colors in the small boxes that I saw listed somewhere. I love the ability to refill them, you can make your own colors with the empty marker and reinkers. The shading is wonderful - so smooth and without lines of regular markers. I think once purchased, they will last a lifetime.

I would be interested in all the sets, as I have none, and a club is the best way to do it.

I have some Ciao and just love them. I think I have 2 Originals and they're fine too. So my vote is for those 2. I'm up for stocking up on some more.

I would love a sketch club. I currently have about half of the sketch markers and would love to fill in the missing ones.

I like the sketch markers better, I would be really interested in that. I would also love it if you put together a set of "skin color" markers to sell. There is more color choices with the sketch. Christine G.

Here is my thoughts... if you are trying to expand the 'clubs' for people who have already joined ~ then you might want to offer the Sketch markers that not offered as Ciao. By selling them as a set(s) ~ this offers what other stores are not ~ getting the least expensive Ciaos & paying more for only those markers not available in any other form. Frankly, there are a lot of other stores that sell all 3 styles & all colors ~ but not any that I have seen which already have the additional Sketches in sets~ so that the consumer does not have to painstakingly go thru all the colors to avoid duplicates.

I have the Ciao markers and love them. My goal is collect them all eventually. As far as adding a sketch and originals club. There seems to be more people using the Ciao and Sketch than the original so a sketch club might work well.

I love the idea of your Copic Marker Club. What a great way to build up my supply. I personally prefer the Sketch because I love the way the barrel is shaped.

I currently don't own any copic markers but I have tried my friend's on occasion and I have to admit, if I could afford them...I would definitely buy them. I have limited experience with them but they seemed far superior to other types of markers that I have tried. I don't know how much my opinion is worth but I do know that all the individuals that I know that use these markers, are very particular about the types and colors that they use, so I would say, the more variety offered the better.

I think that'd be a GREAT idea!

I love, love, love copic markers. The only ones I have tried are the sketch markers as they are the only ones I can buy locally. A club would be great!

I don't really have any quality markers, and I'm becoming more and more interested in Copics, especially the Sketch line partly because of the refill-ability. I've been researching the Copics and have questions ~ such as "If I could buy one 72 piece set to start, which one should I get?" If this is the sort of question that could be answered in the potential Sketch Club, then yes, I surely would be interested. And like Kimberly who commented just above me, I would like to hear more details about time commitment. Thanks to you, Gina, for all the great ideas and inspirations you've been offering. I'm new to your blog and am so impressed with your art!

Gina-- I am a HUGE copic fan and have started quite the collection. I really like the sketch markers because I love having the color on the lid so I can easily find the color I want!! I'm not sure if it is an option but I would love to buy individual markers and refills through you!!

Hi Gina,
First, I have to say thank you for hosting this club. Without your club I would never have become the copic addict I am today! In regard to preference I really like the originals which have the smaller tip to get in to the fine details on the more intricate stamps. While the brush is great & saves time you still need a fine point to get your finish product to look the most professional. At the end though I'll buy anything you offer
Thanks again!
Counting the minutes till my next copic club package- Veronica

I think having the extra selection would be a fantastic idea for 2009. I, for one, would love to try the sketch markers.
And, Gina, I have to tell you that you always have the most awesome give-a-ways! You rock, girl!

I haven't tried the Copic markers yet, but I admire the creations that I've seen other ladies do with them. It seems like it would be good to have clubs for all the marker types if you're able to.

Hi Gina,
I am not a Copic user, even though I love what you are doing with them on your cards. I own the SU markers and I tend to stay away from coloring in images, as I'm an "outside the lines" kind of girl! While at a craft superstore in MN during the holidays I had put the Copic colorless blender pen on my "shopping list" and also was looking for a clear pen that leaves a slight glittered look. I guess I'd buy the Copic colorless blender as well as a glitter pen of sorts if that was something you offered in your online store. I'm rarely in Madison area, but if I ever get the chance to stop by, trust me, I'm there with wish list in hand!!!

Thanks for the opportunity to voice my opinion. Being basically a card maker, I would imagine the Sketchers would be the ideal marker for me, especially since I can change the nib so easily.

The sketch markers sound great to me because I like a lot of different colors. I do want to be honest though and say that I have never used the copic markers so I would have to give this one over to those of you who have been lucky enough to have experienced them. I read about them and all the techniques and wonders of them all the time and would love to have any of them.
Good luck and thanks for all you do......Billye Hanning

Gina,
I was interested in your copic clubs before, but I didn't join simply because I wanted the sketch markers instead of the ciao. I figured if I was going to invest in markers, I would get the style I wanted. I think it's a great idea to offer clubs for the sketch markers. Personally I'm not interested in the original markers, but I bet there are others who would be interested.

I like the sketch because they have the brush nib.

I have some sketch and some caio markers and prefer the sketch. I would be interested in purchasing the sketch but it would be hard to get a set since I have purchased random ones already.

I love to colour, and would love to try the Copics, but have never had the chance. If I were to buy any sets, it would be the originals, because of the small nib end. I love to be able to do fine details! Blending the Copics looks awesome too, so I'd like a set that came with a blender. Just my 5 cents -though it's probably worth more like 2 cents now!

I have many of the original copics, but not all. So I believe that I would like to see the orignal or the sketch offered as a club. I am so truly excited to join this as I have been waiting for awhile for the club to come around again. Thanks so much.

I have been looking at the Copic markers the last couple of weeks. I would love to begin to use them. I think the more colors the better. I think I would love to take a class but it has to be on Saturday because I work and then would have to drive quite a distance. I wish you had a store closer to Illinois so I can hang out more. Your ideas are refreshing and fun! Thanks!

Hi Gina,
I really appreciate your giving me the ability to purchase the Copic markers through the club system. It has been an economical way for me to obtain them. So my preference is the Copic Ciao markers. If you can offer a similar club for the Sketch markers that would be great for those who want to use them. I the Sketch markers are designed for professional artists who make a living using their artistic skills but there are others who would like to use them. I have no interest in the Originals.
Thank you for all that you do. You are so wonderful to provide so many opportunities to learn and improve our skills,m for your sharing and caring.
Happy New Year

I much prefer the sketch to the ciao's--- I wouldn't really care about the originals (the small tip vs. brush tip wouldn't be useful for the coloring I do), but I know a lot of stampers who would prefer the sketch!

I have started to collect the sketch markers, so that would be my choice. I went with those as they were offered at my LSS as well as some of the blogs I have read said they were better. Maybe, maybe not, but that is the ones I have now. If you would offer these, I would participate.

I have no hands on experience with Copics but I am taking my first class on them at the end of January. The location I am going to uses the original (square barrel) markers.
I don't know if the double ended markers would help with versatility - but I am all for options.

I don't have any Copics but all the sets sound great! If I had to choose, I would pick the Original for coloring small smaces.

I love my Copics! Mostly, I have Sketch markers and I like those a lot. If I had my wish, they would make sets with the brush tip like the sketch and the small tip like the originals! I don't use the chisel tip much.

I love having the color choices available with the Sketch markers... but I'm sure most people would be able to work with the Ciao's and be just fine. The only think I might worry about is if people signed up for the Sketch club (after already getting the Ciao's) and then get duplicate colors sometimes.

I have a set of the sketch markers and just love them. I think it would be great if you carried the original and sketch, and hopefully you will be able to do a club on these as well. Great idea to get everyones opinions on this. Krista P

I don't belong to the club but would love to be a member and i find that since I am just a beginner the sketch copics work best for me. I do love the Originals for making broad line strokes. Haven't tried the Ciao's yet.

I looooove the copic markers, they are still pretty new to me though, I have about 15 sketch copic markers, I haven't tried the Ciao. I would love to try a club to start building my collection!

I find it difficult to color with anything other than brush tips but maybe if I tried the others more I'd find I like them better.

Gina I think it'd be a great opportunity for everyone if you offered the program with all the styles. I personally would only be collecting the Ciaos. I don't know how much interest there is for the originals but I know the Ciaos and Sketches are popular.
I was thinking, I don't know how much space you have as I have not been fortunate enough yet to travel to visit the store but here is my idea: instead of shipping out a few markers every month to the members of the clubs maybe do a layaway type thing. The boxes are sealed so maybe put a sticker say on a box of Ciaos for each member in that club. Payments are made every month as usual and once the final payment is made then ship the whole set out. Like I aaid I don't know what kind of space you have, but isn't it only a certain amount of people that can be in a club at a time? I am wondering if this wouldn't be better for you on the shipping also.
If I could financially join a Ciao club I wouldn't mind waiting on my entire set to ship at once.
I don't know if I helped or not. LOL But I say to offer them all and when I can join a club I wouldn't mind waiting on a full set once final payment was made if you changed how you conducted it.

I LOVE LOVE Copic markers! I have some Ciaos and a couple of sketch types, and I have to say they are fabulous, love the colors, everything about them EXCEPT that the brush tip gets squishy too fast. I started out with a set of Prisma makers, the basic 24 set, and I REALLY liked the small nib tip. Just, loved it. So easy to use, never got squishy, gets into tight places. I do like the brush tip for coloring an "area", even a smallish one, but because of the nib tip, the original markers are appealing to me. Cost WOULD be a factor though.

I love the idea of your copic club! I would actually prefer the original based on the fact that it has a small nib end and would make coloring small images so much easier. I have the ciao and its a little frustrating when trying to color small images.

Gina, I think that one club is enough. Offering a greater vatiety is a nice idea for those who are more varied in their artistic ability. All of the copic markers have a variety of uses. Offering more and sharing how we use them will inspire us to take a leap out of our copic comfort zone and try something new! As always, thanks for the inspiration! Kristi
