Inspiration

There are so many beautiful things in life that you can use to inspire creativity. When Asela created Flowers for Daisy, she used the beauty of nature combined with her strong friendship with her friend Daisy to illustrate the images in this heart-felt stamp set.

Others use color combinations they see in the pages of their favorite magazines, store displays and of course, life experiences.

Like last night, for example.

Now, I don't particularly want to discuss the details, however, I had spent a little time thinking about paper and I noticed the beautiful texture on this roll of Cottonelle. I like Cottonelle the best for a variety of reasons, (most of which I won't discuss here,) but I have to say, I do like the texture.

So, I took a roll into my stamp room to see if my idea would actually translate into the pretty background paper I had been thinking about.

I used a rainbow style pad and brayed two squares. The texture just grabbed the ink and made it look like corduroy fabric. I trimmed it down to size and used it as my background paper.

You never really know when or where something will move you and inspiration will hit. (*snicker*)
Let's just leave it at that for now. I'll be back later with the winner of the box of Copic markers.
Have a great day!

Hugs,
Gina K.

Love your new background "paper"! I also found out about a new craft "paper" recently at a floral punch class - coffee filters. The triangular ones. At the class we used a water color brush and LuminArtes H2O's to paint the punched flower parts. It makes beautiful punched flowers and I'm sure it could be adapted to make beautiful backgrounds or embelishments to cards! I love new and inventive techniques! Thanks for all your great ideas!

Oh Gina, you are just toooooo cute! By not telling us anything, you let our imaginations run wild, and wild they did!!! hehehehehehe As for the TP as background paper, try Angel Soft also, it looks great too...just use less ink because it is not as thick as Cottonelle. Or you could try quilted Northern, it is about as thick as Cottonelle. I love the card, and the TP makes an excellent backdrop for your daisy.

    Have a blessed day,

I laughed all the way through your post. When I saw your card (at the top of your post) I thought to myself, that background paper sure looks like the Cottonelle bathroom tissue. Then I saw the roll and thought, hey, that IS Cottonelle bathroom tissue! And as you wrote about how much you liked it I started laughing because we recently purchased it and didn't like it because of the texture. LOL! I know that everyone has their own preferences but my daughter and I prefer something different.

Thank you for the smile today. I really needed it. Your card is lovely. The next time my hubby does the shopping and accidentally comes home with Cottonelle, I'll know what to do with it: make cards! hehehe!
