Friday Challenge- "Stamp in color!"
Do you love to color? I love to color. I love Copic markers and colored pencils and I tend to always choose images that require coloring because I'm so addicted.
Today, I noticed my poor colored ink pads just sitting there looking so lonely- so unused. So I decided to create a challenge for all of us. It's called "Stamp in color!"
If you have fallen away from your colored ink pads, today is the day to get them out and stamp in color!

For this card, I chose the stamp set "Tropical Flowers." I used two inks by Vivid. Vivid is truly one of my favorite colored inks. It comes in a wide array of colors and it gives you solid color- even on brand new unconditioned clear stamps!
The Vivid ink colors I used are Vintage green and Red. Then, because I am so used to shading, I took a copic marker and bounced a little extra darker red on my flowers to give them a little depth.

For my background paper, I used some Wassail by Basic Grey. I use the branch cuttlebug folder and then sanded it with the Tim Holtz sanding block. You can see it better in the picture below.

I also used the Wassail paper to stamp my greeting. I cut it out with my nestabilities double end tags die and sponged around the outside with some black Vivid ink to make it stand out from the background.
Other supplies include Real Red and Basic Black card stock by Stampin' Up, Pure Luxury Card stock 80lb, black brads and the Tonic ticket corner punch.
This is a very simple card using a very simple layout. I challenge you to blow the dust off of your colored ink pads and try stamping in color.
Upload your cards to the gallery at Splitcoast using keyword GINAKJAN16 so we can find each other's cards.
I hope you guys have a wonderful weekend! Tuesday starts our preview party here on my blog for our new release! But you never know... you make get a peek at something new here on Monday!
Hugs,
Gina K.

Beautiful card and verse. I'll have to check out your site to see if you sell the ink pads. Can you link to products you mention in your Blog? That would be great. Thanks for all you share!!!!

You make it look so simple....and it probably is. I'm just pretty talent-less!

thanks for challenging us to color on our stamps. I forget to do that.

It is SO funny that you posted this challenge right now. I was just looking around my craft room a couple days ago and saw all of my Stampin' Up pads sitting there unused! I love to color, too, so I have been stamping in black or brown and coloring in with my copics or pencils with OMS! Now I really must make use of some of those other pads. Thanks for the challenge!

this card is beautiful Gina! Where is the best place to purchase copic markers? I'm just about to take the leap into stamping and prefer to color my own stuff. what "set" do you recommend for a beginner?
