a day in the life... of a stamper and a mom

Today on StampTV, check out the two brand new episodes on bleaching! I'm telling you, stamping makes me look like I am a good housewife. I have bleach, waxed paper, freezer paper, an iron, all these domestic things sitting around my house but I only use them for stamping. LOL!

In this week's episodes, I'll show you two ways to use bleach, as a coloring tool and as an ink pad.

Coming soon, "Center Stage!" I'll tell you more about how you can be center stage over at StampTV starting in just two weeks! It's fun, exciting and it could be lucrative for you too!

Check out all this week's action including new challenges, forum chat, gallery posts and more at StampTV.
.  .  .  .  .

Some personal stuff.

Over the last couple of weekends, the girls had their State swim meets. They both had really great seasons.

On Sunday night, we had their end of the season swim banquet for their team where they got trophies for their events for State.

They did their hair and put a little make-up on which was so fun for them considering they are usually wet with no make-up at all. LOL!

Rina is starting to look so grown up to me. She only ever grows in March and August because those are the only times she gets a break from swimming and what she eats can actually turn into more Rina instead of fuel for swimming.

Last season she went to Central Zones in August so she didn't really get a break then. I think she's grown about 2 inches since State just a couple of weeks agio. But her whole look seems more grown up to me as well.

This year at the banquet, she won the coaches award.  She's been trying to earn this for years!

This quote always reminds me of Rina:
"Last one out of the pool at practice, first one out of the pool when it counts."

Here's a picture of Rina swimming butterfly at State. (Thanks to my friend Brenda N. for capturing these swimming photos!)

She had a strong distance season and she's looking forward to swimming starting up again. She misses it so much when she's off.

Alicia has a great year too! She worked through her back problems to come back pretty strong. She feels very good about her season and can't wait to get back in the water after next week!

I can't believe that in just a few weeks, I will be the proud mother of a high school kid! Yikes! Where did that time go.

Alicia not only swam this season but she also coached the little ones and LOVED it! She's been asked to help coach again this season and she can't wait.

My friend Brenda N. (who is such a great photographer,) captured this moment of Alicia at State.

This picture reminds me of this quote:
"Success often looks easy to those who weren't around when it was being earned."

Alicia swam lots of fly at state! She swam 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 fly in the relay and 50 fly in the relay. And then lots of free too but fly looks so good in pictures!

We're taking a little family vacation for a few days before everything starts up again. I always enjoy watching my kids at the beach. Rina plays in the sand for hours and Alicia lays in the sun with her iPod and the latest bestseller. It's nice to see them near the water having fun, (not that swim team isn't fun, but you know what I mean. Everyone needs time to play.) We're taking my Mom along too. She really needs this.

Thanks for putting up my personal blah-blah! Every once in a while, I like to share the personal side of "a day in the life."

Hugs,
Gina K.

Thank you for sharing Gina! You deserve to be proud. Those girls are both beautiful & wonderful. Enjoy them while you can because they grow up way too fast. (This coming from a mother who will watch her youngest graduate from college this spring. I still remember their first days of kindergarten as just yesterday!)

Gina what a wonderful personal side of your blog. It's almost like seeing our own daughters grow up (for some, little sisters but I'm not going to pretend I'm that young. haha!). I love the action shots that Brenda took! Those would look beautiful blown up into posters. Congratulations on your beautiful family and their accomplishments! Enjoy the sunshine and water.

Thanks so much for sharing some of your life. It helps us to know you're a real person, and not just a celebrity whose on StampTV. I love hearing about your girls and your life. You just lost your father, and I just lost my little brother (to cancer). My heart hurt for you, but so appreciated hearing you were going through what I was going thru with a loved one at the same time. Thanks for being so "real" to us.

I'm assuming that your younger daughter is named Brianna, but goes by Rina. Am I right? I think that once before I saw both names and thought that maybe you had 3 daughters.

I'll be adding that one to my growing collection soon. Thanks again for sharing your life and your gift.

Congrats to Rina! What an accomplishment. Both of your girls are beautiful young ladies! My oldest daughter is 14 and in 9th grade. Because our high school only houses 10-12th grade, I ,too, will be the mom of a high schooler in just a few short weeks. I still remember driving her to school on the first day of kindergarten! Where does the time go?!

    Gina,

Thanks for sharing your children with us. Your girls are beautiful. I also have 2 grown girls and they have been such a fun part of Jeff's and my life. My girls were big softball players so we watched hundreds of games a season. Enjoy every moment of them, as now my girls are 26 and 23 and we don't have any games to watch. I am a middle school principal so I now have more time to stay at our sporting events. I have 930 to watch every day. I love this age as they are really becoming adults. Have a great few days with your family.
