The Final Preview
I love release day because the entire store is buzzing with excitement! Customers stop by, trying to get sneak peeks. (They never do.) 
Then at night, we have our fabulous release party in our forum over at Splicoaststampers which I will post about later today.

"Firsts"
There is one last stamp set left to show you. It's one that I designed and it's long overdue in our industry.
I probably wouldn't have designed this set, had I not lost my Dad in January. But the loss of a loved one teaches you new lessons. It motivates you in new ways.
When you first experience a loss, your friends and loved ones are all around you. They stop. They come- and they stay. But as time goes on, the memories begin to fade and they go back to their lives, which they should. That's normal.
But there are those left behind who still mourn. It's not as easy for them to go back to their lives. Before they can do that, they have to go through what I call, a series of firsts.
There is the first Christmas, the first birthday of the loved one lost. There is the first anniversary for the wife, left behind. There is the first father's day, for a daughter who has no one to call.
I designed a stamp set called "Not forgotten." 
"Not forgotten is a stamp set for those left behind. It's a way to let them know that you remember their pain, that you are still there and that you still care.
It's a set of words and phrases that can be mixed in with other images or it can be used alone for a clean classic look.
In this sample, I used the empty row boat image from "Guiding Light."
The phrase, "Remembering your __________ today" is all one stamp. Then, you can stamp in what you need using the single stamps that go along with it.
Then, there are seven powerful phrases that help you say exactly what you want to say, and will comfort and console those left behind.
One of the things that I love most about card making, is the opportunity it gives me to reach out to those I care about. And there is never a person who needs to be reached out to more, than one who has suffered a loss.
Although there are so many beautiful sympathy sets to use right after a loved one passes, there hasn't been one that cares for the hurt that the first year after imposes.
"Not forgotten" will help you lift the broken spirit of those left behind. (There will be a follow-up set coming very soon to include even more options.)

Oh Gina! I couldn't agree more. Those left behind have so many moments, so many firsts. It's often surprising while one walks the journey through loss. This set really offers a lot! Congrats on a wonderful set!

I have been very lucky that I haven't had much need for a stamp set like this so far in my life. I am very grateful for that. It is always hard to loose a loved one and this is an awesome idea for a stamp set. You did a great job, Gina!

Gina, what a thoughtful stamp set. This Friday would have been my Dad's 83rd birthday. He passed in '04 and my sister and I meet for lunch every year on 4/24 to talk about our memories of him. I'd like to thank you for designing this set of stamps.

I lost my dad last year and know how hard it was for mum at Christmas and also last month when it would have been his birthday. Really looking forward to seeing the rest of the set.

I've made a promise to myself that I make a card each month to send to several people in our life. I've been successful since I started last November 2008. It is to make them smile and know that we love them every single day. Having a lost is hard to speak about - most of us have some type of experience with this. Phone calls are nice and cards are treasured forever. Life is too precious not to tell someone how much they mean to you in your life.

I remember thinking that everyone had forgotten my Mom. Getting a card like this would have helped me so much. My girlfriend just lost her Mom and this would be perfect for her for Mother's Day.

You are so right!!! Just a few weeks ago, a co-worker of mine asked me to make her a card to give to her father on her parent's wedding anniversary. You will know as I am writing this, that he lost his wife just recently and is still very much in pain. I did my best with the stamps I had, but this would have been perfect!

I started tearing up when I read this. I have lost my dad and my brother-in-law. Aside from the "firsts" my family and I experienced there are the continuing anniversaries. Not only the anniversaries of their birthdays but their wedding anniversaries. My mom and my sister still want their anniversaries recognized but there aren't appropriate cards. This set will be good for so many people. I'll never forget my first Father's Day without my dad. It was awful. Thank you, Gina, for your sensitivity. Cards for people who have lost pets other than the Rainbow Bridge reference would be great, too! Thank you!

What a great set. My mom passed away 15 years ago from breast cancer. She was 41. I still feel the loss, it gets easier, but it never fades. I wish this set would have been around a long, long time ago. I've been a stamper for 17 yeas, I needed it back then.

Dear Gina--Your comment that the loss of a loved one teaches us new lessons is so sage and wise beyond your years. It isn't even possible to completely empathize with someone who has lost a family member until we have lost one ourselves, hard though we may try. I love that your set addresses the long-term wound [and ergo our spiritual growth] of the loss. Good for you for being such an old soul!! Your dad must be looking down on you with incredible pride.

This is a marvelous set Gina. I routinely send "thinking of you" cards to friends and relatives that have lost loved ones. I try to remember to send cards around the anniversary of passing, and on special occasion they would have shared with their loved ones. This set is PERFECT! I would love to win it.

I'm so thrilled to see this set - I lost my Dad a few years ago now and my Mum lives on the other side of the world. Yes, firsts are hard but so are every Birthday, Christmas, Fathers Day etc. My Mum loves to receive mail! yes it's the old way but there's nothing like receiving a letter or card to sit down and enjoy. Oh Gina, thank you! It is so hard to find the right words sometimes, especially when someone has lost someone they love. My mom died when she was 37 from breast cancer. I was only 20 and had a 15 yr old sister to raise. Our dad never was in our life. We three were so so close. I have never felt more alone in my life. There have been many firsts, and even after 39 yrs, I miss and need her more and more everyday. The only thing that eased this pain is knowing we will be together again one day.

Dearest Gina-Not Forgotten is an incredible heartfelt set that will touch so many lives in that tender area of grief and loss. As you and your Mom are walking through that valley, you are being used to comfort "millions" who will receive cards of love and care. I find myself sobbing right now as I "feel" again the loss of my Dad and sweet fa-in-law just 2 short years ago, yet so comforted knowing where they are and that there are words to share with loved ones and others who need a touch. I just lost my dad in February and it is still so new to me. You are so right about going through a year of firsts without him. Thank you. The first are so very hard, and you may forget simple things like where you put your car keys, but you never forget those anniversaries. And I have found out the anniversaries come every year, and grief overwhelms you again.

Just yesterday I was at a loss for words for a friend on her second anniversary without her husband. I wondered what would be appropriate to say - these are perfect.

A must have stamp set. I always mark on my calendar when friends and family lose someone close to them, then at the end of the year, I transfer it to next years calendar so I remember to send a card remembering them as they remember their loved one. Thanks so much for doing this stamp set!

What a touching set...wish I had this set when one of my best friend's lost her husband last year. Beautiful. We buried my nephew this past Tuesday. It was quite a shock. I am making up a scrapook for him and these phrases would be heart warming to include. The book will be for his parents. I hope it bring them some joy in days and years to come, as they remember him in happy times.

Wow! I totally remember the first year after my father passed away and how awful it was. I remember all of those "firsts." Time does make it easier, but the pain is still there almost two years later.

My Mom left us 10 years ago and my sister 4 years after that. I still need closure and I will do that by using a set like this one and all the wonderful pictures and memories I still have of them both! Bless you for this idea. This stamp set is amazing and I am sure will be loved by everyone. I lost my dad to Alzheimers Dec 2002 and there is not a day goes by that I do not miss him and think about him. I have been working on an album in his memory and this would be the perfect stamp set to add to his pages. I would love to be the winner. You designed a winner when you designed this one. Thank you.

Gina - While I am saddened that the set was inspired by the loss of your dad, I am thrilled that you had the idea. Having lost my dad 6 years ago this coming May, I know how much it still hurts. I have a major need for this set and will definitely be getting it! Thanks so much for coming up with sentiments that are so fitting - not just during the first year of a loss, but for anytime. What a wonderful stamp set! My sister is going through these "firsts" since her oldest son (age 17) died from brain cancer last October. This Sunday will mark 6 months since Marcus left us. I would love to be able to send her cards during her difficult "firsts" and even seconds... it's going to be a long, difficult road for her and her family.
You are so sweet to come up with this set. I'm sure that a lot of people will really appreciate it.

Oh my, Gina! This set is right on. I got tears in my eyes as I read your post! I thought those "firsts" after I lost my mom was the hardest. But then, when I lost my dad 4 years later it was even harder, because then there really was no one to call. Can't wait to see all of the sentiments.

Oh Gina, I am so happy to see this set. Your words are so true. I actually cringe this time of year because all of the new Mother's Day and Father's Day sets start coming out, and I have lost both of my parents. Knowing just how that feels I can't wait to get my hands on this set so that I can reach out to others who have lost loved ones. You are wonderful.

This is exactly part of the reason I make cards. There aren't cards to say exactly what you need to say sometimes. I love this! Next I'd like more encouragement cards for people going through cancer treatments and such.

Gina, before I move on to the other blogs I have to comment on this card. It touches my heart so deeply. My father was an avid boater and bought me 2 rowboats and a sailboat when I was young. He wanted to make sure I loved the water as much as he (I do).
I never know what to say to someone on a sad occassion. This new stamp set is the perfect sentiment. thank you.

Good morning Gina and crew, you are absolutely right on this one. After losing both my mom and dad within the last 5 years I know first hand how much this set is needed. It is hard at best to lose those you love but even more so with each first and really each special day after. You think about and remember them each event. What a wonderful set to have though to help remember and to let others know that you remember their loved ones as well...you hit the mark with this set...you truly are watching and filling in the blanks where they are needed.....thanks so much.

The anniversary of my mothers death just past this week and I could not stop crying. It has been 19 years but it still hurt so I know there is great need to know that others remember too. With the right insert words you could also use it for those who have survived major obstacles such as cancer and are still struggling. Thank you for this "first" in stamping to help others through their firsts.

This set is amazing. My best fried just lost her mother 6 months ago today to cancer. They just found out last week that her Dad now has cancer. I had the hardest time finding the perfect set to make her cards to express the appropriate sayings and you have now made the perfect set.

Gina, This is such a wonderful, thought out set! We lost my FIL to a house fire in December and my grandfather less than 2 weeks later. It has been a really hard few months for both sides of my family, so I know all to well what you mean. We just had to go through my FIL birthday. this set is something that I would be very interested in having. It is difficult to find appropriate messages for difficult times and these sentiments are just what I am looking for.
I also want to say that I enjoy "A Day in the Life", and also Stamp TV - the videos are so easy to understand and I have gotten lots of ideas for my card crafting.

This set is long overdue - I have been looking for stamps like these for a long time. Often we would like to send a card to someone who has had a special person pass away in their lives and just don't know what to say or how to say it. This set is long overdue. I'm so glad you have made it---I always send cards "after" the death because my father had shared with me that this was the hardest time when he lost his family (before he married my mom--not to be confusing! His whole family was killed in a car wreck---) so I think I have been sensitive to the fact that people are still hurting for months and years to come---thanks again for allowing your pain to bring joy to many. Gina this set exemplifies what I love about you and your product line. Of course your entry made me cry - I have a good friend who still, on my mom's BD every year (she's been gone 7 years now), sends me an email telling me he's thinking of me and my mom. I reciprocate with a note to him on the anniversary of his dad's passing each year. This card set will fill SUCH a big need for me. This set is wonderful. I lost my husband a few months ago. I know my sons and older grandchildren feel the same type of pain I do. OH GINA!!! I have not been actively visiting my favorite blogs or even maintaining mine for about a month, but it's as if fate brought me HERE today! As I type this, tears are falling, as our family suffered the great loss of my Mum the week before Christmas after she fought a courageous 5-year battle with breast cancer. I know all too well about "firsts" as we have experienced several since her passing. I couldn't even bring myself to make cards with the beautiful Easter Blessings set I won. Losing her has been more painful than I ever imagined, but I take comfort in knowing that she has reached eternal life in Heaven. I have several friends who suffered losses in recent years and while I drop them a card now and then, I'm always looking for "something else" for the sentiment. This set indeed fills that void of "something else". I imagine it was painful, but hopefully cathartic, for you to create this set. Thank you for sharing it because it will surely help to heal the hurt felt by so many. {hugs}

Oh my goodness, I really do need this set. It is amazing, perfect, and there's nothing like it out there. It could even be used for a loss of friendship - something my friend is going through. And somehow, I wonder and imagine if designing this set brought you comfort after losing your Dad. I do hope and pray that you have as much comfort in designing it as we will have in using it.

What a wonderful and very important set this is! My mother just died on Dec. 23 and being in my 50's, many of my friends are losing their parents also. What a thoughtful set!!! I had a cousin who was killed in a car accident 6 weeks after his 15th birthday. It happened on Mother's Day weekend. He was the youngest of 4 children and the apple of my aunt's eye. I send her a card every year on his birthday, just to let her know I haven't forgotten him and that I am thinking of her. This would be a wonderful set for many such happenings.

This set sounds perfect, especially for what I am facing this year. I just lost my FIL 12 days ago and we as a family have been very close, spending each and every holiday together! Sympathy sets are few and far between, it seems. But, not only is this a beautiful set, just by reading the sentiment regarding 'firsts' I can tell that it is truly thoughtful. Only those of us who have lost somebody close might think of those things, but being able to send that thought to somebody else would be a wonderful way to remind them you care after the casseroles and company are gone... Even 11 years after losing my dad, the firsts still get to me. So, thank you for this set.

Gina - this is such a lovely set and something that really isn't available anywhere else. It is so true that people aren't always around for the "firsts" after a loved one passes away and if they are, they quite often don't know how to say the comforting things they may be thinking. This is a perfect way to do that. I'll be getting this set to use for a friend who recently lost her mother and will be having her "first" Mother's Day without her. Thanks!

I love the idea of this set. I have a sister who lost her son to a drunk driver many years ago, and I know she likes knowing he isn't forgotten by her family. This is such a nice way to let her know.

You are so right that there are beautiful immediate sentiments for the loss of a loved one, but it is the ongoing process that has been missing. Even beyond the "firsts" people need to know that they are being thought of and remembered. Grief sneaks up even four, five or ten years later. Thank you so much for designing this. I'm sorry that it was due to your loss that you created it, but I think it is a wonderful testimony to your father and to you that you were able to use that to help so many others. You have totally made a set that is perfect! I have had two significant losses in my life and after 9 and 11 years I would still love to receive something that says my friends/family remember that those people were significant in my life and are gone. Great job, Gina!

What a timely set, Gina. My husband just lost his father a few weeks ago. I've been concerned about my MIL who's 54th anniversary will be in a few days. I know from personal experience how hard these firsts are, and have been trying to figure out how to acknowledge her anniversary without opening a very fresh wound. My husband and the father to our children died last summer after a short fight with cancer. He was 44. This is just the stamp set that I have been looking for. Althought we all miss him so dearly, I find peace in knowing his pain and suffering have ended and he is now in the loving hands of Christ. Thank you, Gina, and I wish you peace.

What a great set. I lost my dad 19 years ago and it still seems hard on Father's Day to know there is no one to call or see. This is really a wonderful set to remember to reach out to people weeks and months after they have lost a loved one. Congratulations!

I am crying! This set is incredible. We lost my DH's father 2 1/2 yrs. ago but it feels like it was yesterday - and we've already been through all the FIRSTS!!! The pain is incredible, the loss so very deep. At the funeral, my DH and his 2 brothers did the service; when my DH stood up and spoke, he commented, "I didn't lose just my dad today; I lost my best friend, my confidant, my counselor, my adviser, my rock in Christ...."....
I'm crying even harder now. Thanks for making this great set Gina; everyone will need it sooner or later!

Thank you are the first words that come to mind. I lost my Dad 6 years ago and I remember the 1st Christmas without him, his birthday, my parent's wedding anniversary. By then family had forgotten and you were alone to deal with those terrible "first". Thank you now we won't have to be alone - your beautiful set will remind us to reach out to the one's left behind and to be there for them long after the crowds are gone. Thank you.

Oh, my gosh, you are brilliant! I have often thought of buying many of your sets but this one will have to come live at my house asap. I lost my mom 2 years ago on 5/4 and I know all too well how hard the days get after what I affectionately call 'the blissful blur' of the immediate time after passes. Thank you for creating this set. I too lost my Dad, and am at an age where our friends parents are passing away. I will no longer have to "find" the words to create my cards , I can use your set. The empty boat really hit home! My Dad loved to fish-his empty bpat still sits. So sorry for the loss of your Dad.

When my own Dad passed away a few years ago, someone wrote this in a card:
"It will be the little things that you will remember,
the quiet moments, the smiles, the laughter.
And although it may seem hard right now,
it will be the memories of these little things
that help to push away the pain
and bring the smiles back again."
It's so true, and I find myself saying something now and then, then recalling my Dad used to use that phrase.

What a lovely stamp set and what a wonderful way to let others know you are thinking of them. My mom will be gone three years this weekend and she was buried on my birthday. This would be a great card to send to my sister to let her know that I am thinking of her since she and I are the only ones left in my family since the death of our parents. This is one of the most beautiful cards I have seen to date. The simplicity and the watercoloring are absolutely calming and beautiful. I am lucky to still have my dad, but this set definitely reminds me of my grandpa. He passed away 4 months ago. He was a man of the sea, lived by the beach and this really reminds me of him.

Gina, This is a much needed set. I lost my Mother 15 years ago. The first year is difficult and letting the family know that you are thinking of them and remembering their loved one means so much. They say time heals, and for the most part that is true. Now I see my Mom in the little things in life and feel she is my guardian angel watching over us and guiding us. She is still so very much a part of my life and a part of me and time will never take that away. Thank you for creating this set.
