Happy Camper

As we move deeper into summer, one of my favorite things to do is go camping with my family. Living in Wisconsin, when summer finally hits, we are totally obligated to spend as much time outdoors as possible because it disappears all too soon!

One of my favorite parts of camping is the nightly campfire. It's such a wonderful family bonding time and we just love to make s'mores!

When Theresa Momber showed me her sketches for her new set, "Happy Camper," I think I said yes before she even told me the entire concept! What I love about this set is that, although it's a fabulous set for scrapbooking those family camping excursions, it's also a wonderful set for cards and gifts.

I decided to make a S'mores gift box for my first preview. I used three large clear boxes and created a template that makes two lids. (This template will be a freebie at StampTV.com on the Freebies page on Thursday night.)

The base is permanent. I used Scor-tape on the inside of the base and sat the boxes on top so they would stick to it. The lid comes off and the three separate clear boxes open and are filled with all the ingredients for eight servings of s'mores and a little extra chocolate for later.

In each of the back two clear boxes, I put both marshmallows and graham crackers for a perfect fit.

Then, I turned the middle box the opposite way so that all three ingredients can be seen from either side.

I used three stamps from "Happy Camper" to create my tag and I colored the marshmallows with a white prismacolor pencil.

The card stock that you see here is our new Pure Luxury Soft Sand. It's such a beautiful neutral and coordinates perfectly with all of our Pure Luxury colors.

The patterned paper you see is from our new digital collection that I designed called "The Great Outdoors." This particular piece is called "Tarp." It photgraphed a little purple but it's actually more on the brown side. "The Great Outdoors" digital paper pack will be available for you as another freebie on the StampTV.com Freebies page on Thursday night after our release.

To see a similar gift box being created, you can watch these videos to see how easy it is to make these gifts. Clear Gift Box Video 1 and Clear Gift Box Video 2

All you have to do is adjust to the new template and use three large clear boxes instead of the two medium ones in the video. And, don't cut the boxes down, just use them as they are. Easy!

Wait until you see all the beautiful images in this set. They are just beautiful! Theresa draws these all by hand and each image is a work of art!

100% Sweet

Another wonderful summer treat is ice cream! But that's not all you'll get with Rupa Shevde's newest set, "100% Sweet!" There are more than five desserts in this wonderful set!

I chose the ice cream image because I wanted to stick with the summer theme and nothing says summer like an ice cream sundae!

With all the pool parties and cookouts planned this time of year, we often get asked to bring either a side dish or a dessert to pass. I thought it would be fun to bring a tub of ice cream and some of the fixin's for ice cream sundaes to the next gathering, so I whipped up this cute little basket of fun.

With all the millions of templates out there, I am sure you've seen one similar to this but if you want these exact measurements, I've created another free template for you that will be on the StampTV.com Freebies page on Thursday night after the release.

What I love about this basket is that it takes about 5 minutes to put together. You can decorate it any way you want. I decorated my sides with images die cut with Nestabilities Petite Scalloped Ovals, but you can use prima flowers, chipboard elements, paper punches like stars or flowers or anything else you want to use to decorate the sides.

Rupa's image was perfect for a basket full of sprinkles and nuts for hot fudge sundaes.

And the opposite side doubles as a "thank you" to the person hosting the cookout or pool party!

Rupa has been designing some digital paper too and she said that she wanted her first digital paper pack to be a freebie for you, so we will add the 100% sweet digital paper pack on the StampTV.com Freebies page on Thursday night after the release. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet, but I love every single one of the five different papers that she has created, and they are a perfect match for this fabulous stamp set!
