So, we had a long swim meet weekend away and on Saturday night, I said to Alicia, let's go into town and see if there are any art stores here. We took a drive and found what we were looking for and, OF COURSE, Alicia asked for another sketch book.
I can't really argue anymore because I know what it must seem like to her when I need just one more pack of patterned paper.
I bought her the sketch book and we went back to our hotel. After dinner, she decide to draw a bit. We were watching the Sponge Bob Marathon on TV so I didn't think she was really working on anything serious, just doodling.
Here's what she drew... and colored with her Copics.
Then, she did another one. I'm thinking new stamp line!

WOW, what a talented daughter! I love the drawing! My adopted grandkids are African/American and have very curly hair. It is so hard to find stamps that look like them so I especially would love to see something in this line.

Kiki is truly amazing, Alicia does amazing work! My 5yo son (6 tomorrow!!) was standing beside me as I first looked at this artwork, and he promptly informed me that Kiki is his new girlfriend. I told him that she's a drawing by your daughter, who is 14 (right?). He said, "WOW! She looks so real, and she never colored outside the lines ONCE!"

I'll have to say it again - you have one talented daughter, Gina!!! This sketch of a girl is absolutely adorable and so realistic! I'm truly amazed with the natural talent of Alicia, especially at her young age. She had to have that sketch book at that time to release the artistic energy she had within her.
