Blast from the Past Day 4

I apologize for being a little late with tonight's post. I spent a wonderful day in Illinois watching my daughter play LaCrosse and then the rest of the day running my other daughter around for last minute items to take to the Central Zones swim meet this weekend so I am finally just sitting down to blog!

That's one of the things I love about our industry- the way we stampers and scrapbookers put family first. And that's something tonight's featured artists both do so well.

Featuring Whimsical Autumn by Carolyn King

Carolyn King was one of my very first illustrators so we go back a long way. I always think of her as more like my sister. She's one of the few people in my life that will call me and be perfectly honest with me about EVERYTHING! And I love her so much for that. She's listened to my rants, we've laughed and even cried a little bit together and I will forever be grateful to have her in my life. She is truly a best friend.

When Cammie, (that's what we call Carolyn,) first presented the idea of doing a stamp set in honor of her Grandmother who suffered from Alzheimers I knew that we shared even more of a common bond. After all, Gina K. Designs was one of the first companies to do Stamps for a Cause. We've supported, Autism, the organization that grants Wishes to terminally ill children, Diabetes research and more. Carolyn told me that she wanted to do this set and donate her profits to the Alzheimers foundation to help with research. I said, let's do it! And we did.

This image from the Whimsical Autumn stamp set is so adorable. It's quick and easy to color and makes such a pretty statement.

And the greetings in this set are perfect for any time of the year.

I love Cammie's heart and I love this set.

Featuring Fruitful Harvest by Asela Hopkins

Asela Hopkins is another kind-hearted stamper who has created many beautiful stamp sets for Gina K. Designs including the popular Flowers for Daisy that she created for her friend Daisy who lost her battle with cancer.

Asela always puts her family first and when she has a little free time, she spends it creating fabulous images for Gina K. Designs to turn into rubber.

Last year, I asked Asela if she could draw some large fruit images because it was a stamp set that I was craving for years! She got right to work and created one of my ALL TIME favorite sets, Fruitful Harvest.

If you love to color, this is the set for you! These huge images make beautiful cards, accent images for scrapbook pages and gorgeous tile coasters, perfect for gift-giving.

Asela came to Gina K. Designs after illustrating in some pretty big venues! I am so blessed that she decided to join our art team and we have plans for many more beautiful stamp sets in the future.

Today, the design team has chosen their favorite sets by Carolyn and Asela and they have created some beautiful projects for you!

Thursday night, we will be featuring stamp sets by Tami and me,  and we invite you to join us at StampTV some fun challenges and contests! We may even have a coupon for you!

Hugs,
Gina K.
